Faith-based 'War Room' Conquers Box Office

Another faith-based surprise is changing the Hollywood calculus. With its $11 million weekend, the Christian film "War Room" surpassed all box office expectations, coming in a close second to the blockbuster hit "Straight Outta Compton" - this despite the fact that "War Room" was only being shown in 1,135 theaters as opposed to some major release competition that was being projected on 2,000 to 3,100 screens. The handwriting was on the wall for the film when the "War Room" tally reached $3.9 million for the combined Thursday and Friday night showings.

Audiences are loving the inspirational movie, giving it the highest "A+" rating on the CinemaScore survey. What is causing entertainment executives to really take note, though, is the substantial profit margin, especially when compared to a number of other studio-released films. It was altogether logical, therefore, for Sony Pictures’s faith-based unit, Affirm Films, to take hold of the project’s reins. When measured against current Hollywood standards, the "War Room"’s $3 million production budget appears minuscule. [more...]

The Last Days of Hillary

Today on DRUDGE and FrontPageMag.com:

The Last Days of Hillary
Hillary Clinton’s worst punishment will be her failure
By Daniel Greenfield

Hillary Clinton has spent a third of her adult life trying to become president. All for nothing. The first time around, she wasted $200 million just to lose to Obama. $11 million of that money came from the notoriously "flat broke" couple. This time around she was determined to take no chances.

Together with her husband she built up a massive war chest using money from foreign governments and speaking fees from non-profits, funneled into her own dirty non-profit and a complex network of unofficial organizations staffed by Clinton loyalists, secured an unofficial endorsement from Obama and carefully avoided answering questions or taking positions on anything. There was no way she could lose.

Now she’s losing all over again.

Hillary has a ton of money, but can’t buy the nomination. She’s spending a quarter of a million a day on a campaign operation with no actual organized opposition to speak of. Even before Biden officially enters the race, she’s falling behind the joke candidacy of Bernie Sanders in key states. [more...]

'Big Bang' Star Mayim Bialik's Un-Hollywood Faith

Mayim Bialik has achieved a high level of fame in recent years for her portrayal of Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on the mega-hit television show "The Big Bang Theory." If her TV character's scientific intellectualizing sounds surprisingly authentic, it is because Bialik's acting expertise actually mirrors her professional credentials. In addition to being a neuroscientist on the small screen, she is one in real life as well, having earned both an undergraduate degree and Ph.D. from UCLA in the field. Standing in contrast to many in the Hollywood community, Bialik is very thoughtful with regard to religion and takes her faith quite seriously. She has even used her fame to spread a message that is highly unique, if not altogether a rarity, when it comes to young actors, singers, and other entertainment professionals in that she encourages modesty and chastity. Should Democratic Dinosaurs Lead America into the Future?

It's really ironic and a sad commentary on the Democrat Party that three of their leading contenders for president are political dinosaurs from the past. Is it time for the Democrats to find some new people to lead America into the future? Consider these potential presidential nominees...

Bernie Sanders - a self-identified 73-year-old socialist.  Socialism and Marxism trace their discredited philosophy largely back to a 19th century book (Karl Marx, The Communist Manifesto, 1848).

Hillary Clinton - a self-identified 67-year-old progressive. Progressive socialism dates back largely to the early 20th century progressives such as Woodrow Wilson.

Joe Biden - a 72-year-old progressive. Vice president associated with the current administration’s 21st century versions of outdated progressive socialist policies and programs, including Obamacare, open borders, illegal immigration and the bad Iran nuclear deal. "The Great 8" Plan that Wins the Presidency for Trump

Trump wins the presidency if he lays out his vision for the first year as President. This plan contains eight simple, popular, east to remember solutions that Trump will fight for in that all important first year as President of the United States. Donald, if you're asked anything else, just keep going back to these eight simple points. Stick to "The Great 8" ...and the rest can wait. The average voter doesn't want to read detailed position papers. The average voter can't deal with too many issues at once. They want jobs, they want to keep more of their own money, they want to get rid of Obamacare, and they want to make America great again. That's it. [more...]

China and the Stock Market

What's going on with China? For starters, China devalued its currency recently.  That alone should not cause a stock market crash.  But, for some investors, the devaluation signaled that China's economic growth and economy might be slowing down.  Because China has such a large impact on the global economy, this action spurred fears that the entire global economy might get hit and there might be a global economic slowdown.  The Shanghai Composite in China fell 8.5% on Monday - a negative sign.  That adds to concerns for investors. How does currency devaluation impact other markets around the world?  When China has to pay more for goods and services, it has to cut back on goods and services; there is less money in people's pockets, so-to-speak.  If China, overall, buys less actual goods and services, trade revenues to other countries will decline, thereby impacting the global economy. Fed-Rigged Stock Sell-off Foretold in Don't Bank On It!

Global equities saw their sharpest fall since the 2008 financial crisis on what's being referred to as "Black Monday" - as an 8% rout in Chinese shares sparked worldwide panic. This sudden market volatility comes as no surprise to those who have read our latest book, DON'T BANK ON IT! or any of our previous five books or ten white papers on the subject in recent years. The U.S. stock market has been "levitated" and "rigged" by the Fed's zero interest rate policy (ZIRP) as "easy money enriched many stock market speculators in the casino of Wall Street, which has gone up while the real business economy wallowed or declined. The Fed has been a pusher, willing and able to give the stock market its needed fix of easy money. [more...]

Trump and the Dream Act - The Truth Behind the Nightmare

President Obama's Executive Amnesty order threatens to destroy American - the greatest nation in the history of the world. In my December 2010 blog, DREAM Act, I criticized the majority Republican Congress for failing to stand up to the President's agenda during a time when he was pressing the DREAM Act through, despite clear opposition from the majority of Americans. The President is pressing his Executive Order granting amnesty to illegal aliens while Republicans sit idly by. Just as the DREAM Act was blocked, so should President Obama's Executive Amnesty Order. Mr. Trump is correct that new legislation is not necessary if we demand that our legislators and government officials do their true job and enforce current laws. We cannot continue this attempt to legislate and regulate ourselves to prosperity. What we must do is reduce the role of government and demand they govern according to the Constitution. [more...]

The Iranian Lunacy Continues

Can those on the Left really believe that a regime who hates us, that is breaking the same rules it says it will abide by before the ink is dry, who shouts "death to America," is buying weapons from Russia, and learning how to make and launch nukes from North Korea can be trusted to do their own inspections? This regime plays in the same sandbox with almost every one of our enemies and openly supports terrorists. We're trusting them.  Why? [more...]

Democrats are Faltering, Leaving the Door Open for the GOP

Democrat voters may begin looking for a candidate who will take a stronger stand against ISIS and exact stricter sanctions against Iran. Bernie Sanders certainly isn’t up to it, and Hillary botched her job as Secretary of State, so why would voters trust her with more foreign policy responsibility? Republican candidates as a whole offer stronger opposition to ISIS, one of this nation’s biggest threats; and within the party, Donald Trump offers the best option to deal with this enemy. In business, no single leader can successfully manage a company on his or her own – leaders must surround themselves with the best and brightest people they can, to build the most successful company. Trump knows this, and will do exactly that as president. With regards to ISIS, Trump will work with military leaders to craft an efficient, effective plan to once and for all deal with the terrorist group. Moreover, Trump is likely to apply this business strategy to all aspects of White House leadership, just like any good manager. Overall, Americans are increasingly dissatisfied with the work of Democrats and are looking to the other side of the room to solve problems both at home and abroad. [more...]

China and the U.S. Treasury Bond Market - the Investment Threat Nobody's Talking About

Chinese ownership of U.S. Treasury bonds stood at 7.2% last October with total foreign ownership of Treasuries at 34.4%. "The worst case would materialize if the largest holders decided to sell their Treasury securities at the same time," writes Mike Patton at Forbes. Let’s talk about that. There are several reasons that China might sell U.S. Treasuries; and make no mistake - such an action could cause a big bond market correction, the likes of which we haven't seen since 1994. [more...]

Hillary is More Likely to Go to the "Big House" than the White House

A cocky Hillary Clinton wouldn't directly answer questions, when asked whether she was the person who wiped the private e-mail server she used as Secretary of State, in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

In my opinion, it's all over for Hillary. How bad is it? Hillary is now more likely to wind up in the "Big House" than the White House. How bad is it? The cover-up of and conspiracy in Benghazi is the least of her worries. No one is even mentioning the Clinton Foundation where she accepted $2 billion in bribes (I mean donations) while Secretary of State - much of it from foreign governments - while quickly awarding contracts to those same countries and companies. Isn't that treason? That's not even on the radar screen... yet. How bad is it? This scandal doesn't even involve 32,000 e-mails she chose to erase and the server she purposely destroyed. [more...]

The Secret to Why Obama is Annihilating the GOP Every Single Day

Something is wrong... really wrong. Are you as worried as I am at seeing what's happening to America? Why is it happening? Well the first answer is Barack Hussein Obama. We have a madman at the wheel who is purposely doing everything he can to drive us off the cliff. It is so clear he is purposely overwhelming the system. He is purposely destroying the voting demographics with an open border and amnesty by Executive Order; purposely destroying the economy and small business by taxing and regulating them to death; purposely destroying the middle class with giant increases in healthcare and energy costs through Obamacare and draconian EPA climate change regulations... China's War on America - Devaluing the American Economy

Markets reeled last week as China doubled down on its latest attack on America. Embroiled in a currency war in effect that cost the U.S. GDP $430 billion in just the last 12 months, China upped the ante and conducted their strongest attack on America yet by breaking international law and performing the largest currency devaluation in two decades – all in just two days. Economic reports for the month of July 2015 revealed that China's exports were down by $10 billion.  To counter that loss, China has illegally interfered with foreign currency markets, artificially dumping the value of its currency, (the Yuan).  Already devalued by nearly 40%, this latest currency manipulation make it nearly impossible for American products to compete against artificially cheapened Chinese products. How the State-Controlled Chinese Economy Affects Your U.S. Stock Market Investments

China devalued the yuan this month - an action which significantly affects worldwide companies that seek to sell their products in China. A currency devaluation means that it will now be more expensive for Chinese companies and citizens to purchase foreign goods. All sudden economic and geopolitical changes cause stock market volatility. It’s time to circle the wagons. My suggestion is to move away from Dow-invested stock mutual funds, toward S&P 500 and NASDAQ stock mutual funds. [more...]

Hollywood Support for Presidential Candidates is Up for Grabs

Hollywood is a community where political loyalties can turn on a dime, as exemplified by the way in which many entertainment industry insiders displayed their unabashed fickleness during the 2008 presidential cycle by abandoning Hillary's ship and jumping aboard Obama's train. If Hillary's poll numbers continue to drop, Tinseltown could once again reverse course and this time move in the direction of Biden. Some insertions and revisions to the 2016 election script appear to be taking shape, and a curious twist of fate is materializing. It arrives in the form of an undying devotion to, of all people, Sanders. This stands in contrast to the support that is on display for Hillary in the social media, which is mainly gender-focused and marked by perfunctory tweets, including the following... [more...]

Another Win in the Books for Trump

Why is Trump so successful in Iowa? Donald is the everyman’s billionaire. He may make $400 million a year, but voters in Iowa find him more relatable than any other politician. Trump speaks in straight-forward terms, never mincing words, and always expresses his true opinions. Plain and simple, Trump holds the same political values as millions of Americans - that’s why he is winning. No one has to worry about Donald falling into the pocket of any big corporation or industry. Trump represents himself and understands his supporters. Moreover, Trump is a person, not a politician. After the Iowa state fair, Trump reported for jury duty on Monday, just like any other American. [more...]

Trump is 'Relentless'

How the heck is Donald Trump still in the GOP presidential race, let alone winning? How can he offend so many people, yet still sit at the top of the polls? The opinion makers and TV experts just don’t understand his appeal. Well I get it. I’m the author of a new book called, The Power of RELENTLESS. If Hollywood central casting created a prototype for relentless, it would be "The Donald." [more...]

Rally the Youth

Charles Krauthammer recently made a great point about the voting habits of young people and how so many of them continually vote for candidates who clearly do not have their best interests at heart. This is particularly true on college campuses, which have become so politically correct that even ultra-benign comedian Jerry Seinfeld vowed he would never perform there again because of the hostility he has to deal with for anything even the least bit edgy. Why is this the case? What happens on these campuses that causes people to so vociferously attack their own (formerly) inalienable rights without even realizing it? The simplest answer would be indoctrination, but the deeper question would be "what is the exact nature of this indoctrination?" Is it purely the teachers in the classroom, or is it something else? I would argue for the latter. [more...]

Trump's Star Power Alters the Course of the GOP Primary

We undoubtedly live in a celebrity-driven culture, one in which the public frequently looks to celebrities with admiration, loyalty, and adulation. These days, however, many are "famous for being famous," but Trump is unique, even for those who are under the fame umbrella. Trump's television fame has been built on a celebrity image specifically associated with leadership. He is one of the most renowned individuals to ever enter the presidential race. However, along with the celebrity status that accompanies routine television appearances, Trump's reality show served to solidify his brand; and not just a run-of-the-mill brand, but the brand of being a tremendously powerful leader. Millions of viewers who tuned in already had a preconception of him as such and viewed him favorably as a decisive figure. The nine other GOP candidates who were on the platform at last week's debate have Trump to thank, in great part, for being given the chance to communicate their ideas to such a huge group of voters. Many of the debate participants were able to significantly increase their name recognition, among other things, and what Trump brought with him to the stage beneficially spilled over onto them. [more...]

The Top Scenarios for Trump in the Presidential Race

One scenario I can envision is that with an electorate that is angry, frustrated and upset with the current administration and the Republican Congress, an anti-Washington outrage might take over the Republican presidential race.  Giving Trump the Republican nomination would send a strong message to both parties that business-as-usual is over and Americans will hold both parties accountable for America going off track.  Many voters are truly upset that they gave the House and Senate to the Republican Party in recent elections and major issues are still not resolved. Obamacare has not been repealed.  Illegal immigration continues unabated.  Our military has been slashed, while we are being threatened with ISIS and the potential for terrorist attacks at home. The Iran nuclear deal has further deteriorated our security and America is at risk of an Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) attack that the current administration continues to ignore, preferring to fight climate change (a non-crisis). Add to this a very anemic economy and over 93 million Americans of working age who are unemployed. [Go here for a complete analysis...]

Social Security Turns 80... Its Days May Be Numbered

Today Social Security and its related benefit programs, Medicare and Medicaid, are running short of money – and are in real trouble. Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is expected to run out of money in 2016.  President Obama's administration relaxed its qualifications, and SSDI beneficiaries increased by 50 percent, to more than 10 million. This is almost as many as have full-time jobs in all of manufacturing. Social Security was supposed to keep Americans safe from old age poverty – but Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare are rapidly running out of money.  Its rising taxes on younger workers might soon drive them into poverty and leave millions unable to retire. The Problem with "Mainstream" Christianity

More and more "mainstream" Christians are finding it necessary to dance around or water down the true meanings of God's word and commandments so people around them won't think they are too harsh or "religious." What would cause someone that says they believe in something to change it or ignore parts of it to make themselves feel better? Not to disrespect my Catholic friends... BUT, for example, Rep. Pelosi is, in her words, a "devout Catholic."  How can that be? Pelosi says she is a devout Catholic; however, she believes in abortion while the church and scripture are against abortion. She is an advocate of same sex marriage; however, the Catholic Church is opposed to same sex marriage. So what Catholic Church or doctrine is she really following? [more...]

What will happen after Labor Day when Congress votes on it? This – and much more – will be discussed by the POLITICAL INSIDERS – live on Fox News Channel this Sunday evening – at 7:30 PM ET. Obama Defends Iran Deal with Falsehoods and Slurs

Remember President Obama's outright lies as he was selling Obamacare? He is now lying on an even larger scale as he tries to sell his fatally flawed nuclear deal with Iran to a skeptical Congress, and to the American people, who currently oppose the deal by a large margin. In an address that Obama delivered yesterday at American University, Obama deliberately misrepresented the terms of his deal and slurred those who dare to question it. In a highly offensive and partisan tone, he accused the Republican caucus of being in "common cause" with Iran's hardliners opposed to the deal, ignoring the serious reservations to the deal among many in his own party and the American public at large. Hillary Supporters Want Her to Repeal the Bill of Rights if She's Elected President

Man on the street, Mark Dice, asked Hillary Clinton supporters: If they agree with her supposed "campaign promise" to repeal the Bill of Rights, to see if they would blindly agree with this clearly insane policy just because Hillary is supposedly behind it. I just wish he'd start asking these people if they vote. I'm hoping they don't, but I suspect they do. [more...]

The Obama Economy is Flatlining... and Soon Might Spiral into Recession

The Department of Commerce late last week announced that in the Second Quarter of this year America's economy grew at an annualized rate of 2.3 percent, which other countries that do not engage in our data manipulations would see as equivalent to less than a 0.6 percent growth rate quarter-on-quarter. The Commerce Department also said it has revised what began as minus 0.2 percent growth during the First Quarter up to 0.6 percent growth... anemic growth, but better than much of the rest of the world where meager growth rates are now declining.  [more...]

The Two Donald Trumps

Love him or hate him, no one has been able to figure out Donald Trump. No one, that is, except Norma Foerderer. For 26 years, Foerderer was Mr. Trump's top aide, becoming his vice president. During her career with him, Foerderer oversaw almost every aspect of the presidential candidate's business, including public relations, hiring and firing, and negotiating book deals and contracts. No one knew so well both the personal and business side of Mr. Trump. Just before she retired in 2006. Foerderer, who has since died, gave me her only in-depth interview about Donald. Foerderer said there are two Donald Trumps: the "outrageous" one that utters brash comments on television and the real one that only she and other insiders know. [more...]

Will Trump Rate at the Debate?

National security will likely be a big topic at the debates. No doubt this will include border security and terrorist threats. By this point, we know Trump’s beliefs on illegal aliens, and we know a huge number of Americans support him, so it will be interesting to see if other candidates step up and take a strong stance for our nation. Gun rights, abortion, and gay marriage could also come up, but I bet this could lead to a broader conversation regarding states’ rights. Trump is in favor of limiting the power of the federal government and giving power back to the states, so this will be a discussion point to watch. Trump, with his decades of business experience, will lay out his plan to cut down and simplify the tax code to promote economic growth and American success. No other candidate has the real-world, business experience of Trump, so I look forward to seeing how the other candidates plan to rebut Trump’s strategy. [more...]

The 2016 presidential election campaign heats up this week with the first Republican presidential candidate debates. The big debate is the "Top 10 Debate" on Fox News on Thursday, August 6th, at 9:00pm ET featuring the Top 10 Republican presidential candidates who are chosen based on the average of five major polls as of today at 5:00pm ET.  The Top 10 Debate will be preceded by the "Runner-up Debate" or, as Lindsey Graham called it, the "Happy Hour Debate."  The Runner-up Debate is also on Fox News at 5:00pm ET on Thursday, August 6th, and will include the rest of the 17 Republican presidential candidates that didn't make it into the Top 10 Debate.  Before these debates, it's worth asking five important questions... [Go here for a complete analysis...]

Uber Represents a New Kind of Capitalism

A popular new kind of capitalism, "the sharing economy," is emerging in America, and those on the left are fighting among themselves over whether to embrace or attack it. One such enterprise is Uber, which facilitates entrepreneurs using their own cars to provide transportation. New York City's Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio wants to restrict Uber from competing with crony taxi cab companies that pay huge medallion fees, taxes, and campaign contributions to have a lucrative monopoly. But in job-hungry New York State, Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo is an Uber booster. [more...]

Michael Bay's Benghazi Film May Shake Up the Presidential Primaries

Paramount recently announced the release date for "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi," which is an action movie produced and directed by Michael Bay. Contrary to the lack of interest that has been displayed by far too many in the mainstream media, the public still longs to know more about what occurred in Benghazi and seeks justice for the victims of the horrific incident, which so viciously took the lives of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens. The same mainstream critics who carped about "American Sniper" are likely to have the long swords out for a movie that has the potential to undermine the candidacy of the presumed Democratic nominee. Australia walked away from negotiations over sugar cane exports; Japan, over intellectual property rights and autos; New Zealand, over dairy; and virtually all the countries are upset with U.S. demands over extensions of drug patents. [more...]

Joe is Biden His Time

Hillary Clinton initially seemed infallible to the Democratic Party, but now, she is slipping quickly in the polls. In fact, Quinnipiac University surveys showed Hillary at her lowest popularity ranking ever - not good if she wants to be president. Bernie Sanders, the other big name in the Democratic, primary draws big crowds to his rallies. However, many political commentators believe this means less people supporting him and more people looking for an alternative to Hillary. This is where Biden comes in. Early in the year, Biden and his supporters hinted at a possible run for President, and over the ensuing month, a PAC “Draft Biden” formed, with the goal of recruiting Biden as an official candidate.
