We're NOT All in this Together
By Daniel Greenfield

"We're All in This Together," the sappy title of one of several bad songs, has become the Ministry of Information slogan of the pandemic. You hear it while shopping for groceries at the supermarket, see it on billboards that tell you to social distance your way off the street, and in every single ad on TV. And then, after months of being locked indoors and being told that we were out to kill grandma if we left the house, the same media lauded massive numbers of rioters crowding together to curse the cops. The political fiction of the pandemic died once its administrators found a shiny new fascist object. [more...]

Race is the Elephant in the Room
By Antony Davies, Co-author of 'Cooperation and Coercion'

Anger over the death of yet another black man, George Floyd, at the hands of a white police officer has erupted in violent protests coast to coast. People looking for quick, easy answers will cling to that story. But it’s not the right story. The right story is more complicated, and it implicates nearly everyone. The right story is partly rooted in the racial difficulties that have plagued the United States from slavery, to the Jim Crow South, to the strife of the 1960s, through the Rodney King fiasco - and now to George Floyd. Race is the elephant in every American room. [more...]

Late Night Ratings Implode
By Dr. Steve Turley

Are we seeing the beginning of a new era of conservative late-night television? In many ways, Johnny Carson was the quintessential conservative late-night host. Always classy and witty, his guests were top-notch. Not only did he feature some of the best up-and-coming comics and entertainers, but Carson often showcased some of the greatest classical musicians in the world. But since his farewell, there really has not been a good conservative alternative to all the leftist shilling and virtue signaling that spews out night after night from the likes of Kimmel and Colbert. That is, until now... [more...]

Coronavirus Lockdown - How Many Harmed by Disruption to Routine Medical Care?
By Sally Pipes, President & CEO of the Pacific Research Institute

With states in the initial stages of reopening their economies, early research seems to indicate that the stay-at-home orders may not have had as much impact on the spread of COVID-19 as the conventional wisdom held. We may be on the cusp of a different "mass casualty incident," a group of over 600 doctors recently argued in an open letter to President Trump. The doctors assert that 150,000 patients have had cancer go undetected during the lockdown. Even more have foregone treatment for conditions that could lead to heart disease or stroke. Sadly, these physicians may be right. [more...]

Video Flubs in the COVID Era
By Karen Tiber Leland

A few days ago, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was videoconferencing on air with MSNBC from his home. In the middle of the interview, the bathroom door behind him opened and what appeared to be his African American house cleaner came out with cleaning supplies. She looked awkwardly toward the video and he at her. Then she wandered quickly out of the frame. She was not wearing a mask, and neither was he. Ironically, this was just moments after Senator Schumer had been speaking about the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on black Americans. To be fair, Senator Schumer is not the first person – and he certainly won’t be the last – to make a bad videoconferencing faux pas. The larger point here is that in this day and age, we can be made or broken based on what we do online.
