The U.S.-Mexico Trade Agreement

The Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA) expressed support for President Trump and his trade team taking aggressive and unconventional steps to craft a new trade arrangement with Mexico. This is another example of President Trump living up to his campaign promises by renegotiating or terminating NAFTA and pursuing bilateral trade deals instead. Despite vociferous opposition from Congress, foreign companies and the import lobby, the President and his trade team continue to work hard for domestic producers. We support the administration’s work to gain trade leverage and overturn the past policy of unilateral trade disarmament which caused offshoring and wage stagnation. If Canada refuses to negotiate, they should not expect to be included. [more...]

Probe by the Special Counsel Continues to Broaden in Scope

The Wall Street Journal recently broke the story that Allen Weisselberg had been granted immunity by federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York. Weisselberg is the longtime CFO of the Trump Organization and also serves as the treasurer of the Trump Foundation. The CFO has been with the Trump family since 1970, when he began working for President Trump’s father. Weisselberg currently co-manages the Trump businesses along with President Trump’s adult sons. Weisselberg was called to testify to a grand jury earlier this summer. As the CFO, he presumably has a wealth of knowledge about the Trump Organization’s internal cash flow. Presently, Weisselberg has been given immunity related solely to the payments that Michael Cohen made to two women with whom Trump allegedly had affairs. However, through use of the same above-described investigation, prosecutors could potentially subpoena additional records from the company, and the investigation could undergo a further expansion. Leftists Weaponize Corporations to Kill the Constitution

Today we are seeing radicals kill our rights by using government’s other fist of lethal power to beat our Constitutional rights to death: regulation. The left has been frustrated in its efforts to disarm the populace. The highest court has upheld our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, despite big-city leftist attempts to banish citizen rights of self-defense. The prospective 2020 Democratic presidential nominee leftist Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts proposes requiring every major American corporation to have a federal charter. These companies could then be required to obey whatever hare-brained whim our ruling politicians have, including denial of credit and rights to the politically incorrect. When everything is politically regulated, everything will be politicized and corrupted. If corporations deny our rights, then we should deny them the profits from having us as customers. [more...]

Why Jewish Leftists Hate Israel and the Jews

Over a century and a half, Marxist criticism of the Jews has made few innovations, replacing Judaism with Israel, and to a lesser degree, money with power. Leftist anti-Zionism is so hard to distinguish from anti-Semitism because its roots are still in the same anti-Semitic Marxist sewer. The Anti-Jewish Jews preach the salvific powers of the left to redeem the selfishness of the Jews. Only the left can save Jews from Jewish power. Only the left can redeem Jews from clinging to their guns, bible, and land by destroying Israel. Karl Marx was right about one thing. There is a struggle between Judaism and the left. For the left to win, Judaism must be destroyed. [more...]

Single-Payer Progressives Lie Their Way to Victory
By Sally Pipes, President & CEO of the Pacific Research Institute

November's mid-term elections are just around the corner. This fall, Democratic congressional candidates are betting the farm - or shall we say the House - on government-run health care. The crop of Democrats eyeing the presidency in 2020, meanwhile, is similarly united behind a government takeover of the U.S. healthcare system. If voters reward the party's leftward lurch, they'll regret it immensely. The single-payer system that progressives dream of would be a nightmare for taxpayers and patients alike. [more...]

Another Misguided #MeToo Demonstration

On Aug. 26, women popped their tops for “gender equality” all over the country. Was this complimentary or contradictory to the #MeToo movement? GoTopless.org was founded by Claude Vorilhon who claims to have had an encounter with an extra-terrestrial who gave him the secrets to life. One of the male organizers at the event said something like “Instead of going crazy over Trump’s latest tweets or the latest news scandal, we need to remember that there are still women who can’t go topless!” Several participants cited the objectification of women as the reason for the movement. That’s gender inequality isn’t it? The notion that there is no difference between men and women is one the Left has been pushing for several generations. It has proven false, especially by the Left itself, which currently paints women as victims and men as perpetrators on the one hand and claims there is no difference between men and women on the other. [more...]

How a ‘Strong Dollar’ Causes Low AG Prices and How to Fix It

In recent months, President Trump has imposed much-needed tariffs to address China’s 24-year trade war and commercial espionage campaign targeting America. Instead of changing course, China has imposed tariffs on fairly-traded goods from the United States. While President Trump’s moves are aimed at helping U.S. manufacturers, we need additional strategies to help farmers and ranchers. America’s manufacturers and farmers happen to share a major export problem - an overvalued U.S. dollar that makes their goods more expensive overseas. If Congress and the administration can buckle down to pass legislation addressing this “strong dollar,” we could see corn, soybean and beef prices increase by 25 percent or more. [more...]

Musk Tweets about Taking Tesla Private, Subjects Tesla to SEC Investigation

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc., has come under scrutiny this week after tweeting that he would take Tesla private at $420/share, and that he had funding secured.  Now, Musk must face his critics, as well as his shareholders regarding this announcement. The notion to take Tesla private stems from the fact that the company has faced loads of scrutiny after missing self-imposed deadlines to beef up production of the Model 3, and how these delays have greatly impacted Tesla’s already dwindling cash reserve.  According to Musk, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign-wealth fund, which currently owns a 5% stake in the company, has consistently contacted him over the past 2 years concerning allocating financial support to take the company private. [more...]

Mapping the U.S. Farm Subsidy $1M Club
By Adam Andrzejewski, Author of “Operation Drain the Swamp”

During the Great Depression, farm subsidies were created to keep the family farm afloat and ensure a stable national food supply. Today, these subsidies have grown so lucrative that wealthy investors, large corporations, and farm-estate heirs use taxpayer money to maximize their personal return on investment. Since 2008, however, the top 10 farm subsidy recipients each received an average of $18.2 million – that’s $1.8 million annually, $150,000 per month, or $35,000 a week. With the median household income of $60,000 a year, these farmers received more than 30 times the average yearly income of U.S. families. It was never the intent of Congress to create a new class of millionaires through federal farm subsidies. Yet, the subsidies continue to flow. [more...]

Robert Spencer Banned from Two Platforms

The fascism is coming down fast. I’ve now been banned from Patreon and GoFundMe. The authoritarian Left is working energetically now to ban all dissenting voices, in the run-up to the 2018 elections. We haven’t seen the last of the bannings. It’s clear that I am in their crosshairs, and Muslim Brotherhood-linked Congressman Keith Ellison has already demanded that Amazon stop stocking books by people who are blacklisted by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Twitter Isn’t Removing Hatred, It’s Silencing Dissent

One of the last things that David Horowitz was able to tweet before his account was locked was a link to an article, “How the Left is Outsourcing Censorship of the Internet.” The article described how the left is using tech companies to silence political dissent. Not long after, @horowitz39 was locked by Twitter, which accused David Horowitz of violating its rules against “hateful conduct.” And that’s on a site which not only allows Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, a violently racist hate group, to use its platform, but has turned a blind eye to his top tweet, “Thoroughly and completely unmasking the Satanic Jew and the Synagogue of Satan.” According to Twitter, there’s nothing hateful about that. Providing Better Deals for Health Coverage
By Sally Pipes, President & CEO of the Pacific Research Institute

More than a dozen state attorneys general just sued the Department of Labor over a new rule that makes it easier for small businesses and self-employed individuals to form “association health plans.” AHPs enable these firms and sole proprietors to band together to negotiate with insurers for better deals for health coverage. The attorneys general claim the rule violates consumer protections in the Affordable Care Act. But the opposite is true - the rule will work to the great benefit of consumers. Since Obamacare’s many rules took full effect in 2014, the cost of insurance for small firms and self-employed people has skyrocketed. AHPs will grant them access to the affordable, high-quality health plans they want and deserve. [more...]

Socializing the Democrat Party

With their secret Internal polls apparently showing it may be political suicide that 57 percent of its voters now view socialism positively, but only 47 percent view capitalism favorably, the Democratic Party’s bosses are having their media comrades attempt a new party line. “Socialism does not mean government control,” their new propaganda line goes. “When young people favor ‘socialism,’ they merely mean the restoration of liberalism with a bit more welfare for the poor and a bit more social justice for the downtrodden. It’s nothing to be afraid of.” This attempt to sanitize the Democrats’ rapid shift and candidate scramble towards socialism is nonsense. [more...]

Cakeshop 2.0

Once again, the Colorado Civil Rights Division (CCRD) is targeting Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop. The original drama lasted more than six years and concerned Phillips' refusal to create a custom wedding cake for a gay couple. The finale came in June 2018 with a 7-2 Supreme Court decision in Phillips' favor. The sequel to this story debuted recently when news broke that the CCRD ordered Phillips into "compulsory mediation" for a new discrimination charge. The complainant this time is Autumn Scardina, a transgender attorney who requested a custom cake to celebrate his/her gender transition. Scardina has allegedly targeted this shop in the past with sexually explicit and satanic cake requests. [more...]

Anti-Trump Media Attempt to Tamper with the Manafort Jury

Paul Manafort worked as a manager for the Trump campaign for approximately three months back in 2016. A high-profile trial has been taking place over the last three weeks in the courtroom of Judge T. S. Ellis. Manafort has been charged with eighteen counts of income tax evasion and bank fraud. The jury in the case is presently deliberating. Still smarting from the unexpected results of the 2016 election, many in the mainstream media have been feverishly covering each step of the investigation being conducted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller as well as the Manafort trial, which they view as the singular most important legal event for Mueller thus far. However, two recent events that happened during the trial have seemingly generated concern and even anxiety within the mainstream media over the possibility that the trial’s outcome may not be the one for which the outlets had longed. Tariff Job Gains Exceed Losses By 20:1

Earlier this week, the Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA) published details of its new ‘Tariff Job Creation Tracker’ that tallied U.S. manufacturing jobs gained in the wake of recent tariff actions. We keep hearing stories about the sky falling because of President Trump’s strong hand in enforcing existing U.S. trade laws. But the past six months have shown impressive job creation in skilled, high-wage sectors against only very negligible, accompanying job losses. The early returns show strong positive job creation. And there will undoubtedly be greater job growth as more sectors receive attention from the administration. [more...]

Turkey’s Problems Not Due to Trump’s Trade Policies

Turkey’s currency crisis is threatening the Turkish economy and there is a genuine risk that this could spill over into other emerging market economies with excessive foreign indebtedness. There’s even a risk this could lead to a worldwide recession as the aftereffects boomerang back on to the advanced nations whose banks have lent money to those struggling nations. But make no mistake, Turkey’s problems are not the result of President Trump’s trade policies, nor any American policies. [more...]

Tariffs Work - Look no Further than China’s Booming Economy for Proof

Trump's critics warn that tariffs will harm workers and the U.S. economy, but China's economic history suggests otherwise.

As President Donald Trump imposes tariffs on Chinese goods, opponents warn that trade sanctions will boomerang back and hurt the U.S. economy. But these same critics overlook several key lessons from recent global trade history. And what they ignore is that China’s own meteoric rise was driven by a staunchly nationalist trade strategy.

Some brief history: For the past 25 years, China has implemented every pillar of a protectionist trade agenda. Starting in 1994, Beijing deliberately undervalued its currency against the dollar to make Chinese exports cheaper in the U.S. market. It raised tariffs on a wide range of U.S. goods, including everything from consumer products to automobiles. It levied a value-added tax that encouraged its manufacturers to target export markets. It funneled hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies to key industrial sectors. And it mandated the transfer of proprietary technologies to “partner” companies before allowing U.S. companies access to its consumer market. [more...]

Tariff Job Gains Exceed Losses By 20:1

As of today, job gains exceed job losses by a 20:1 ratio. This week we’re showing gains of 11,100 jobs in four major sectors affected by tariffs. Tariffs are creating far more jobs than they are sacrificing.  The tariffs are working. So far, we have identified 514 job losses specifically due to tariffs. All job gains and job losses refer to job changes that have either happened or have been publicly announced as planned to happen by the companies involved, with specific numbers included. We have not estimated any of these numbers; they all come from the companies concerned. We do not include threats of potential job losses, such as the threat of sacrificing an alleged 4,000 future jobs recently made by the CEO of Chinese-owned Volvo Cars. Many corporate leaders are making vague threats or forecasts with clear political motivations. We are going deeper and looking at facts and facts only. [more...]

Jobs Created by Tariffs

More than 11,100 Good Jobs Created Since February

We have determined that at least 11,100 new jobs have been created since February 1 as a result of the protective tariffs imposed on imported solar panels, washing machines, steel, and aluminum. The finding arises from the initial results of CPA’s “Tariff Job Creation Tracker” (TJCT), which monitors the jobs created as a result of the administration’s tariff actions. The tally is conservative because the numbers include only those positions where companies have publicly announced new or planned job counts. We’ve long recognized the direct connection between manufacturing strength and a vibrant middle class. Recent administrations simply acquiesced to a quarter-century of predatory trade from China. It’s past time to take action, and it’s gratifying to see how quickly manufacturing is coming back to the U.S. now that we are implementing the beginnings of a national trade strategy. The Untold Story - Tariffs are Driving Job Creation

It’s just six months since the first of the Trump administration’s tariffs went into effect and the job gains are already visible. Our CPA Tariff Job Creation Tracker (TJCT) shows over 11,000 jobs have been created or announced since February 1st  and that includes only cases where companies announced specific job counts. Other companies have also said they intend to add jobs, but we will wait for numbers before adding them to the TJCT. In general, these are good, well-paying jobs, in strong, stable industries. The addition of high-paying jobs to any locality creates upward pressure on wages in the entire region. [more...]

The Golden Age of Trump Bashing May Be Over

Omarosa’s Unhinged may be the fake book that broke the fake publishing camel’s back. Instead of getting a #1 bestseller, Simon and Schuster had to settle for #5. As CNN notes, even Rick Wilson’s anti-Trump rant made it to #2. Pro-Trump books by Jeanine Pirro and Gregg Jarrett got to #1. And that’s despite the millions of dollars in free media coverage lavished on Unhinged. Without the backlash from the White House, Omarosa might not have even gotten to #5. What went wrong with Simon and Schuster’s seven figure investment? [more...]

Mastercard Says it Blacklisted Robert Spencer Because of “Illegal Content”

The Breitbart article is a good summary of what happened between Patreon, MasterCard and me, but the key element is in the update: “A Mastercard spokesperson responded to a Breitbart News request for comment with the following statement. ‘As part of our normal process, we share information about websites that may have illegal content with the acquirer – or merchant’s bank – that connects them to our network to accept card payments. The acquirer would then review the site for compliance with legal requirements and our standards. They would then determine what action to take. In this case, the acquirer advised us that they decided to terminate acceptance.'” “Illegal content?” What illegal content? Which website - Patreon or Jihad Watch? [more...]
