Dawn of Nuclear Iran is Nightmare for U.S., Says Experts

Days before Halloween, the Institute for Science & International Security warned that Iran could produce enough enriched uranium to quickly make an atom bomb within the next 4 to 6 weeks – perhaps as soon as this Thanksgiving or Christmas. We show how vulnerable America's anemic economy is in our new book, "The Great Withdrawal." [more...]

Obamacare is Not a Train Wreck; It's a Suicide Attack

The GOP needs to stop calling ObamaCare a "train wreck." That means it’s a mistake or an accident. That means it's a gigantic flop or failure. It's not. This is a brilliant and purposeful attempt to damage the U.S. economy, kill jobs, and bring down capitalism. It’s not a failure; it’s Obama’s grand success. It’s not a "train wreck;" ObamaCare is a suicide attack. He wants to hurt us, to bring us to our knees, to capitulate - so we agree under duress to accept big government. [more...]

Obamacare - Don't Delay it, Demand it!

Right now the administration is trying to figure out how they can make it past the midterm elections without the American people realizing what a big boondoggle Obamacare really is. When you look at the individual mandate, it's become an absolute mess. What's even worse is that in addition to the individual mandate, the employer mandate requiring all employers with over 50 employees to offer health insurance to their employees, has already been postponed for an additional year until 2015. If you think that the administration is dealing with more than they can handle with the individual mandate, imagine if they had to implement the employer mandate as well. If that were the case, some members of the administration would want to reinstitute the government shutdown. Plain and simple, it would be even more of a disaster. [more...]

If You Get the Youth, You Have the Country

Students on campuses across America are being encouraged to embrace communism and socialism and shun conservative values, speakers and teachers; all the while we are becoming the laughing stock of the world, with our failed economic policies, our mismanaged healthcare law and rollout, and our failing school systems. Hitler's lesson was on target: if you get the youth, you have the country. In other words, he trained the youth in the way he wanted them to go and eventually had total control. Today, the progressive left is training the youth in the way they want to see this country grow and have been doing so for many years. Take a look around at what's happening to our country. We are seeing the results of their efforts now, and we are in a heap of hurt as a nation and a people. [more...]

It is Possible to Keep Halloween Healthy AND Fun

It's the scariest time of the year, especially for anyone who fears the inevitable sugar cravings and dreaded extra pounds from Halloween indulging. As a doctor mom who fought the "Sugar Bowl of Holidays" for years, I know that the extra sugar this time of year can weaken on our kids' immune system, wreak havoc for those with ADD/ADHD, interrupt normal sleep patterns, and promote fatigue – not to mention tooth decay.  But consuming Halloween candy does not have to hurt your kids this year! Here are some tricks to avoid over-treating: [more...]

My Obamacare Predictions and What to do to Protect Yourself

I've been telling my audience since April that Obamacare was going to be an epic fail. How much of a fail surprised even me. But it's what will happen next that needs your immediate attention and concern.

If this were a normal situation and a normal administration, the program would be scrapped and/or delayed. Since it's not, you must prepare for utter chaos and a complete healthcare meltdown. This means getting any needed procedures and tests completed before the January 1, 2014 deadline when Obamacare actually kicks in and your current health insurance may no longer be available. Also, stock up on any needed medications; and see any specialists or other doctors who may not be covered under the new policy. The situation could get quite serious. The problem is that no one knows what to do and the White House has abdicated any measure of leadership on the subject.

Here's where I predicted the ObamaCare implosion in detail: [more...]

Celebrity Video Tells Government to Stop Watching Us

Some major Hollywood celebrities are appearing in a new video to express their objections to the widespread surveillance program, which has been administered by the National Security Agency (NSA).

Despite being highly critical of the government surveillance policy, the video's celebrity participants avoid any mention of the individual who is ultimately in charge of the agency, President Obama. The U.K. Guardian newspaper first reported on the U.S. government's surveillance tactics after having received documents from agency contractor Edward Snowden. A series of reports published in the Guardian as well as the Washington Post revealed what were at one time secret activities by the NSA, which involved the gathering of phone records and Internet activities of U.S. citizens. Obama Ramps up the Nanny State

Progressives have long envied France for its 35-hour workweek. Mr. Obama has bested this. Thanks to the enormous shift from full-time to part-time jobs caused by Obamacare and the drag on growth caused by anti-capitalist Obamanomics, America's average work week has plummeted from 40 hours to nearly 29.5 hours... and millions now enjoy the leisure of having no job to go to at all. Laissez les bon temps rouler, Mr. President! [more...] See more about The Great Withdrawal, Lowell's latest book.

"Something for Nothing" Mental Affliction Makes Entitlements and Obamacare Possible

I recall a Harvard undergraduate student who recently volunteered to work over the summer for a Boston area non-profit organization. Its focus was the young mothers in the local hospital maternity wards who were illegal immigrants. (Presumably, they simply showed up at the hospitals while in labor, and were tended to free of charge.) This volunteer’s job was to inform those mothers of the many different government entitlements they could now claim due to having given birth and how they should go about getting the money. The people here (in Massachusetts) routinely elect politicians who always vote to fund illegal immigrants in the hospitals and all other entitlement recipients.

Now, significantly more money will be needed for Obamacare, which promises medical coverage for 43 million previously uninsured Americans. As if this weren’t enough, the President has already begun to propose yet another new massive government entitlement program, universal pre-school education. It bears mention that the amount of money spent in the U.S. on entitlements is simply unbelievable. I recently heard a report that over the last five years, the federal government spent $3.7 trillion on welfare alone. Over that same period, the combined amount spent on all U.S. education from K through graduate schools, plus the combined budget for all road and bridge building and repairs, plus the cost of all space exploration came to a total of under $800 billion. Samantha Power Faces a Moral Decision on Rwanda

Following their visit earlier this month to Africa's Great Lakes region, which includes the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda and Uganda, members of the United Nations Security Council met to consider what they learned during their visit. One of the Security Council members reporting on the Africa visit was the United States. The U.S. report focused on the Rwanda portion of the trip, a country whose suffering during the 1994 genocide helped inspire U.S. Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power to write movingly about the horrors of that colossal crime against humanity and to speak out against the indifference of the United States and the international community as the genocide unfolded. Doctor Sues the Government over Obamacare Delays

I am suing the government because of the fact that the president changed an existing law apart from the will of Congress.  I filed the federal lawsuit under two basic categories: 1. I'm a local business owner and it's cost me a lot of time, money, effort and resources; and 2. I filed as an American citizen because I feel that it was wrong to do that in light of the fact that the Constitution specifically disallows it.

I have a greater goal here.  There are many, since I've filed, that have said to me, "It's constitutional, why do you want to dismantle the law?"  It is not my goal to dismantle the law.  Ulysses S. Grant said that the best way to repeal a bad law is to enforce it vigorously.  It is my goal to make sure that this law gets enforced rather than have a president choose for political convenience what portions of the law he intends to delay for his own political gain.

Kawa Orthodontics Employees: 53 full-time; 11 part-time
Kawa Health-Care Costs: $20,000/month
Kawa Health-Care Costs Estimated Increase: 40%
Businesses Impacted by Health-Care Law: 200,000+ companies with 50+ employees

The Left would like to brand the Tea Party as the obstructionists.  The truth is the obstructionist is the president.  The law is the law.  It was not the Tea Party that decided they were going to obstruct the law; it was the president who chose to obstruct the law.  It was the president who, by the way, has no more power than you or I to change an existing law.

The President of the United States takes an oath upon entering office to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." In reality, he's the one that we have to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution from. [more...]

Why Does the World's Richest Country Have So Many Failed Cities?

A century ago our nation was famous around the world for creating beautiful cities. Now, we are known for failing cities. In a recent 60 Minutes report, Bob Simon noted that after he left what passes for sparks of new life in downtown, the rest of Detroit reminded him of Mogadishu - "the worst place I've ever been." A failing city, we have at least 25, is one that can never expect to return to its former prosperity. Soon Detroit's population will be one-third of what it was in 1960; there is no chance it will ever boast two million again.  While Detroit's problems are specific in their particulars, cities like Baltimore, Cleveland, Toledo, Scranton and Hartford share histories of similar policy choices that drove their continuous downward spiral. Why ObamaCare is a Fantastic Success

It's NOT. This is a brilliant, cynical and purposeful attempt to damage the U.S. economy, kill jobs, and bring down capitalism. It’s not a failure; it’s Obama’s grand success. It’s not a "train wreck;" ObamaCare is a suicide attack. Failure: The New Measure for Success

Author John L. Mason wrote a book called "An Enemy Called Average," and more recently a follow-up, "Conquering an Enemy Called Average," in which he deals with this "just get through it, C average" mentality and launches an all-out attack against mediocrity. I think the mantra of many on the left is, "just get by" and if that doesn't work, lie! President Obama seems to subscribe to this same kind of thinking. He has surrounded himself with people who think, like him, that average, misspeaking (lying), and just getting by (or getting away with it) is excellence. [Who are they?...]

The Collective Media Gang Up on Ted Cruz

The latest target of the news and entertainment media's poison arrows is Sen. Ted Cruz.  The mainstream news media have joined forces with entertainment shows in a multi-pronged attack on Cruz that is reminiscent of the treatment meted out to former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

The tactics being employed by the mainstream news media in attacking Cruz were exemplified by ABC News as it conducted the first interview with the Texas senator since the partial government shutdown came to an end. Prior to its airing, Jonathan Karl promoted the Cruz interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" as the "Ted Cruz shutdown," and GMA co-host and Democrat Party operative George Stephanopoulos hyped the segment as a "contentious and defiant interview." Big Labor Feels the Pressure

Now that two cases concerning forced unionism have made it to the U.S. Supreme Court's docket, it appears big labor is becoming even more desperate in their attempts to avoid extinction. Events transpiring in the past several weeks make it apparent that Big Labor is doing everything it can to rapidly add membership in anticipation of the Supreme Court finding the use of the coercive practice of "corporate campaigns" to violate the National Labor Relations Act. These "campaigns" consist of the use of intimidating methods designed to coerce employers into signing a neutrality agreement, by which they agree to accept "card check," or the use of signed cards as evidence of their employees' desire for union representation in lieu of secret ballot elections. Mr. President, Enough with the Lies, the Fear and the Spin

This is not a Democrat vs. Republican piece. This is an "administration gone stupid" piece. These budget games have been played for years. These fights over who knows best have been played for years. But Mafia-style thuggery like this should be left in the big cities. I presume they are used to it and know how to deal with it. The government shutdown caused by the failure of the Senate to pass a budget in the last five years should have no effect on our war memorials. If we can keep the president's golf courses open and Mrs. Obama's 16 assistants funded, and if we can continue to enter into contracts and pay for guards to protect illegal aliens marching at the National Mall, then we can allow our veterans to visit their war memorial. Reporting from the UN: Negotiating with the Treacherous Iranian Regime

While President Obama refuses to negotiate with congressional Republicans over the terms for opening the government and passing an increase in the debt ceiling, he is perfectly happy to negotiate for the umpteenth time with the treacherous Iranian regime. A few encouraging words from the duplicitous new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his sidekick Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during their visit to the United Nations last month, as well as a hastily arranged phone call between Obama and Rouhani, was all that Obama needed to fall for Iran's latest delaying tactics. Hollywood Working on Snowden Film

Some have called Edward Snowden a whistleblower, a dissident, and a traitor. Others have characterized him as a patriot and a hero. Now the former CIA and NSA employee, who intentionally disclosed to the press classified details of several top-secret United States and British government mass surveillance programs, is being whispered about in the entertainment industry offices of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.

Snowden engaged in the leaking of information to the U.K. Guardian, which resulted in the publication of a series of exposes that revealed details concerning the interception of U.S. and European telephone metadata and several Internet surveillance programs. ABC News called the disclosure "one of the greatest national security leaks in recent American history."  Federal prosecutors charged Snowden with espionage and theft of government property and as a result the former spy agency operative became a fugitive. He first fled to Hong Kong and then on to Moscow, where he was granted political asylum by the Russian government and now resides at an undisclosed location. [more...]

Obama's Ego Continues to Trample America Freedoms

The current budget/debt ceiling debate has nothing to do with the merits of Obamacare, but rather is a result of the President’s narcissistic ego, his political gamesmanship and socialistic agenda. It has nothing to do with what is right for the American people. Even the President’s most ardent supporters, Big Labor’s "Gasping Dinosaurs," who blindly followed their “fearless” leader with their support of Obamacare, now realize The President Only Cares about his Own Ego and Agenda. They have awakened to the fact that he will trample anyone and anything that gets in the way of his idealism and his agenda. It is time for Americans to stop listening to the President’s hollow political rhetoric and awaken to the fact this President will trample on our freedoms to enact Obamacare. [more...]

Classical Wisdom Opposes Obamacare

A basic principle of ancient Jewish wisdom (the Talmud) indicates that Obamacare will prove to be a devastating failure.  The Talmud teaches that when two or more people are both responsible for doing what either could accomplish alone, if they are not given specific work orders by a third party, the task will not get done.  This is because each person will be unproductive and wait for the other to attend to the matter.  As such, if the same job is given to both a single person and a group of four, the one person will likely get it done sooner, despite having one quarter the manpower. Disturbing Facts about a Senior Homeland Security Adviser

The Clarion Project, the Center for Security Policy and the Institute on Religion and Democracy have published a shocking interview with Mohamed Elibiary, a senior Department of Homeland Security adviser. The Daily Caller reported on it yesterday. Elibiary is a member of the Secretary's Homeland Security Advisory Committee and founder of Lone Star Intelligence LLC.  He served on the DHS Countering Violent Extremism Working Group and the DHS Faith-based Security and Communications Advisory Committee.  On September 12, he announced that he had been reappointed to the Committee and promoted to Senior Fellow. He was also a delegate for Republican presidential nominee John McCain in 2008. [Read the interview here...]

Global Warming Hysteria

Is there any wonder that young folks are losing sleep?  Washed up rocker Bob Geldof continues to struggle for relevance with outlandish statements.  "We may not get to 2030," Geldof warned kids at the One Young World summit in Johannesburg, "unless something is done about global warming."  Geldof told the young delegates, "There will be a mass extinction event.  That could happen on your watch.  The signs are that it will happen soon."  This is the same hysterical nonsense that has been recklessly thrown out by global warming alarmists for decades.  The bad news for them is "soon" has come and gone a thousand times and none of what they've predicted has come true. Common Core 'Specialist:' National Standards are Necessary to Combat Birthers

Are the new Common Core national standards nothing more than an effort to help liberal educators indoctrinate children into their political philosophy?  Michael Pucher, a teacher and "Common Core science specialist" in the Los Angeles Unified School District, recently claimed at a community forum that Common Core is necessary because of noted conservatives Donald Trump and Bill O'Reilly. He held up a piece of paper which he said was his Common Core "certification," and suggested it was proof of the program’s worthiness "for all the Donald Trumps out in the world." [more...]

Obamacare - The Big Scare is Here

The big problem with Obamacare is no one understands it!  One thing that appears to be certain is families will be paying more than what was promised to them on Election Day.  One of the bigger issues caused by Obamacare is business owners are confused and afraid to grow their business.  As a leading authority on buying and selling businesses, I have my pulse on the emotions of the business community.  Unfortunately, many business owners are deeply concerned about the ACA and are making the tough decision not to grow their businesses.  Many owners are deciding to stop at the 49 mark and not hire any more employees.  Most businesses operate on a tight budget with minimal profit margins and they can't afford to pay out more money.  It's as simple as that. [more...]

Government Shutdown: This Ain't 1995

Harry Reid, Obama, and the rest of the Democrats made a gross miscalculation: they thought no matter what happened the American people would blame a government shutdown on the Republicans.  After all, they were working off the template of 1995.  But the template from 1995 is obsolete - in 1995 the issue was Medicare.  The Democrats had one talking point: "The Republicans want to cut Medicare and give a tax cut to their rich constituents."  You heard that from every Democrat at every turn.  Forget that it wasn't true; it was repeated so often - and never challenged by the media - that it stuck. The truth was the Republicans were merely trying to slow the rate of growth.  There was no cut in Medicare, but that didn't matter.  What mattered was Speaker Gingrich had become a lightning rod in American politics.  Even those who admired his guts and his leadership skills had a hard time dealing with his arrogance and his ego.  There is no Newt Gingrich to focus on in this current budget fight. Obama is 100% American Born

Many Americans suspect Obama was foreign born. They are wrong. Boy do I have a story to tell you. I believe Obama is a fraud. But it has nothing to do with his birth. Obama's critics have it all backwards. They are looking in the wrong place. He isn't a foreigner portraying himself as an American; he's an American who fraudulently portrayed himself as a foreigner. I've heard the Leftists call me a "birther," but I'm not... never have been, not for one minute. A "birther" believes Obama is a foreigner, not legally qualified to be president. I have never believed that. I've always believed that Obama is 100% American.  I'm a leading critic of the President, but I've always believed him to be American born. He is as American as P.T. Barnum; and he lies and exaggerates like P.T. Barnum, too. Let me tell you the REAL Obama story. [more...]

Democrat Double Speak

The fine line between politics and reality has become so blurred that the truth couldn't be found in Washington if it was written on the Goodyear blimp highlighted with fireworks! I refer to this as "Democrat double speak."  All this coming from our elected leaders, such is our sad state of affairs. Let's take a look at this from the middle of the aisle. The U.S. Senate, run by whomever, has not passed a budget in the last 5 years. This is against the law! A Continuing Resolution (CR) has been submitted, again, because, did I mention, the Senate has not passed a budget in five years. And did I also mention that it was against the law not to pass a budget? [more...]

Young Americans Inundated with Obamacare Ads

Young Americans are being inundated with propaganda that sings the praises of Obamacare.  In order to spur the 18 to 35 year-old demographic to sign up for the health care program, the Obama administration has brought Hollywood stars on board to serve as pitchmen and women.

This is occurring in spite of the fact that the new online insurance marketplaces necessitated by the healthcare law have been plagued by a host of technical glitches, which have slowed, and in countless cases, completely halted enrollment in the programs.  After having three years to prepare, several states have been forced to delay the rollout of their Web sites, and the federal government’s own site, which consumers in 36 states needed to access, has repeatedly frozen. Opposing Entitlements and Obamacare is Kind and Wise; Voting for them is Short-sighted and Cruel

As a child, I hated going to the doctor for vaccinations. No one could convince me that anything so painful was a good idea. Adolescence brought the ability to see the larger picture: inoculating children is an act of kindness, even though it hurts. When it comes to the need to curb or eliminate entitlements, most of the U.S. seemingly sees the matter the same way a child understands his vaccines. The policy will hurt. It will create great hardship for the millions of people who now depend on government largesse. If so, financial prudence cannot possibly be good. [more...]

Arne Duncan Uses Sandy Hook to Slam Congress over Federal Shutdown

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan used a speech before the National Press Club to deliver a verbal beat down on Congress and critics of Common Core.  "They are creating stress and uncertainty ... at a time when our schools need stability and investment.  Think of all the unfinished business in Congress that actually affects our school children, from comprehensive immigration reform to common sense gun laws,” Duncan said, according to the Washington Examiner.  "If the slaughter of children and teachers and the principal at Sandy Hook Elementary School didn’t move them, I honestly don’t know what will," he said. Michael Novak's New Best-selling Book

"Novelist, ambassador, vizier, poet: how fitting that some of Michael Novak’s monikers should parallel the rhythms of "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy," that classic Cold War title by John le Carre.  It is fitting, for starters, because a significant chunk of Novak’s daunting body of writing not only coincided with the years of that long war, but also influenced certain of its seminal events," writes Mary Eberstadt.  His new best-selling book, Writing from Left to Right, presents an intriguing look at how Mr. Novak, an early left-leaning liberal, developed his political views over the course of major events in U.S. history. The Real Story of New York's Economic Gap

The "tale of two New Yorks" looks very different if you look at the bigger picture - at the whole state, and over decades. Then it’s clear that our problem is growth. But for the other 99 percent of New Yorkers it's a different story, especially upstate. [more...]

Have Americans Forgotten How to Grow?

In the face of a stagnating economic activity many economists are trying to explain why the medicine they have been administering these last six years isn't working. Not capable of accepting theoretical defeat, they offer new explanations. We are being told that technology has permitted big corporations to replace manufacturing jobs with either cheap foreign labor or the substitution of capital for labor using robotic technology. But, an even grander reason is on offer by Robert Gordon who says that innovation itself is slowing. He argues, much like many before him in similar moments when the mysteries of economic life produced a slowdown that in their minds shouldn't be that everything is different because people are living differently, or should be. The Latest on the IRS Scandals

It is increasingly clear that the 2012 elections, both presidential and Senate, were stolen by Obama, the Democratic Party, the IRS, and government employee unions. It’s right out of a mob movie like “The Godfather.” In a story reminiscent of the mob fixing union elections, the IRS enforcers conspired to destroy Obama's main competition - the tea parties and other conservative fundraising groups. Lois Lerner was only one of many IRS big-shots in D.C. who gave orders to IRS offices across the U.S. to "kill" the tea parties and other conservative groups. Their goal: steal the election. As of only days ago, the "fall gal" retired from the IRS. We can only guess what kind of massive payoff she received from Obama's donors. [more...]

A study released last week showed that adolescence now ends at age 25. Because of these findings, child psychologists can now work with these "children" until that age. According to the study, young people were experiencing an inferiority complex as a result of pressure to leave the home by age 18 or achieve other key milestones by that age.  Psychologists have decided that there are three stages of adolescence: early adolescence ranges from ages 12 through 14; middle adolescence spans ages 15 through 17; and anyone aged 18 or over was classified as late adolescence. Three days after being snubbed at the United Nations by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, President Obama made a hurriedly arranged telephone call to Rouhani last Friday as the Iranian president was heading to the airport to return to Tehran.  This followed what Secretary of State John Kerry had described as his own “constructive” meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif the previous day.  Obama couldn’t wait to tell reporters after his call with Rouhani how optimistic he was at the prospect of new talks with Iran over its nuclear program.  Obama’s problem is that there is no real new leadership in Tehran, only a new figurehead. The real leader remains Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei. He isn’t called Iran’s “supreme leader” for nothing. He is the ultimate decision-maker on the future of Iran’s nuclear program and on any rapprochement with the United States. [more...]
