3 Investment Strategies for the Next Market Sell-Off
By Crista Huff

Last week an investor asked me, “If there is a stock market sell-off and money is withdrawn from the market by an exodus from ETFs/mutual funds, how does one protect him/herself as fundamentals will not matter?” My answer to that question can probably help many investors clarify their investment strategies and find productive ways to deal with stock market volatility. The vast majority of stock investors are going to experience big drops in portfolio values during bear markets or market corrections, and there isn’t too much that we can do about it. So, the key question becomes, “Are you brave enough to let your stocks recover in the coming months?” [more...]

Obama's Spygate
By Lowell Ponte

Obama is about to publish his memoirs but is apparently so worried about his wife’s success as an author that last week he said Michelle “had a ghost writer.” Ironically, Barack’s own first two books were apparently ghostwritten by Bill Ayres, a New Left Weatherman terrorist but skillful writer in whose apartment Barack launched his own first political campaign. In Dreams of my Father, Barack described seeking out “Marxist professors” in college. His administration welcomed fellow 'red diaper babies,' from David Axelrod to Valerie Jarrett. Obama appears to have been deeply involved in weaponizing government agencies to wiretap and spy on Donald Trump in a “Trumpgate” attempted coup d’etat. He met in the Oval Office with his FBI Director James Comey, accomplice in the scheme Vice President Joe Biden, and others the day before Comey was to set Trump up by telling him a lurid tale in what is now known as the Trump dossier. Kanye West Stands Up for Trump Supporters
By James Hirsen

When it comes to Kanye West, Democrats have a lot to fear. Bucking the trend in the entertainment industry, Kanye has shown support for President Trump on a number of occasions, including one in which he made a visit to Trump Tower shortly after President Trump’s 2016 election victory. The popular rapper, who also happens to be the husband of Kim Kardashian, appeared last year on “Saturday Night Live” and gave a speech to the audience immediately after the broadcast. Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media breathed a collective sigh of relief when Kanye made a late autumn announcement via Twitter back in 2018 that he was “distancing” himself from politics. However, at the start of 2019, he was back on the Trump train again. [more...]

Eight Non-Jewish UCLA Student Council Members Pass Resolution Absolving SJP of Anti-Semitism
By David Horowitz

The UCLA Undergraduate Students Association passed a resolution last week asserting that the campus group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) is not anti-Semitic and condemning the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s newest report, “An Epidemic of Jew Hatred on Campus: the Top Ten Neo-Nazi Incidents,” which was distributed in newspaper form on the UCLA campus on April 30. USAC passed the resolution with a vote of 8-1. All 8 members of the student council who voted for the resolution are not Jewish. [more...]

How Bill Gates Destroyed the SAT
By Daniel Greenfield

Bill Gates has wielded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as a tool for wrecking education with Common Core and has hijacked the College Board, which began as a conclave of elite college leaders, into pursuing his radical social and political agendas. The downfall of the College Board began when it picked David Coleman, a Gates alumnus who had played a significant role in writing Common Core standards, as its new president. Coleman, a Rhodes Scholar, the son of a Bennington College president and New School dean, had degrees from Yale, Cambridge and Oxford. By the age of 25, he was working at McKinsey as an educational consultant. The rest of the story was an escalator ride through the consulting industry that destroyed education. [more...]

Across-the-Board China Tariff Would Boost U.S. Economy, Create Thousands of Jobs
By Michael Stumo

We have released a groundbreaking study on the impact of a potential 25 percent across-the-board tariff on all imports from China. Our research found that such a move would deliver significant, sustained benefits for the U.S. economy, including the creation of 771 million additional jobs and an additional $125 billion to GDP over five years. “China’s rise has come at the expense of U.S. jobs and manufacturing,” said CPA Chairman Dan DiMicco. “This new research demonstrates just how much the United States stands to gain from reclaiming our manufacturing base. Blind adherence to free trade clearly hasn’t worked; and boosting domestic production should now be our top priority.” [more...]

Report on "The Top Ten Neo-Nazi Incidents" on American Campuses Exposes Scourge of Leftist Jew Hatred
By David Horowitz

Horrifying instances of anti-Semitism on prestigious American campuses including UCLA, Columbia University, the University of Minnesota, Tufts University, and the University of Michigan are among those cited by the David Horowitz Freedom Center in a new report on "An Epidemic of Jew Hatred on Campus: the Top Ten Neo-Nazi Incidents." The report explains that Jew Hatred - a prejudice often attributed by the media to conservatives - is rapidly becoming part of mainstream Leftist dogma. This is nowhere more true than on our nation’s college campuses, where neo-Nazi incidents have only grown in their violence and magnitude. [more...]

What is Mitt Romney Doing in the Senate?
By Daniel Greenfield

On Sunday, Willard Mitt Romney visited CNN to praise Rep. Justin Amash’s call for President Trump’s impeachment as “courageous.” He also claimed that it’s “way too early” to support Trump. The Senator from Utah then claimed that, "the president has distanced himself from some of the best qualities of the human character.” It’s never “way too early” for Mitt Romney to rise to the heights of moral condescension based on stunning accomplishments of character such as stabbing conservatives in the back. Romney is a 71-year-old freshman senator. Before this year, the last time Romney held elected office was in 2007. Twelve years ago. Since then he lost two elections, one to McCain and one to Obama, burning through half-a-billion dollars, before heading to Utah and outspending his opponent 5-1 on a Senate race he couldn’t lose. In reality, Mitt has done little more than take cheap shots at Trump. [more...]

"Ramadan Rage" Leaves 364 Dead and 404 Injured in Two Weeks
By Christine Douglass-Williams

“Islamic terrorists have carried out an estimated 76 attacks in nearly 15 countries since the beginning of Ramadan this month, killing at least 364 people and injuring 404 others in the first two weeks of the holiest month for Muslims.” The lives of these victims are worth no less than the lives taken in the errant Christchurch massacre in New Zealand but the silence over “Ramadan rage” murders is deafening. Report on "The Top Ten Neo-Nazi Incidents" on American Campuses Exposes Scourge of Leftist Jew Hatred

By David Horowitz

Atrocities at Columbia, UCLA, U. Nevada-Reno and Stanford all made the list.

Horrifying instances of anti-Semitism on prestigious American campuses including UCLA, Columbia University, the University of Minnesota, Tufts University, and the University of Michigan are among those cited by the David Horowitz Freedom Center in a new report on "An Epidemic of Jew Hatred on Campus: the Top Ten Neo-Nazi Incidents."

The report explains that Jew Hatred - a prejudice often attributed by the media to conservatives - is rapidly becoming part of mainstream Leftist dogma. This is nowhere more true than on our nation’s college campuses, where neo-Nazi incidents have only grown in their violence and magnitude. The report documents the worst of these crimes - threats of death and violence against Jewish students, memorials to the Pittsburgh synagogue mass-shooting victims defaced, menorahs stolen and destroyed, swastikas marring student residences and campus offices.

The burgeoning Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement against Israel plays a pivotal role in these hate crimes. The Freedom Center’s report describes how the BDS movement, funded and promoted by anti-Israel terror groups including Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), has infiltrated our universities, and imitates the rhetoric and methods employed by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Just as Hitler’s reforms aimed to marginalize Germany’s Jews, the BDS movement seeks to isolate and delegitimize Israel, cut it off from the world community, and bankrupt its resources in the hopes of ultimately destroying it.

It is no coincidence that five out of the ten universities featured in this report - UCLA, Tufts, Stanford, Columbia and the University of Michigan - have welcomed the Students for Justice in Palestine National Conference, organized by Students for Justice in Palestine, the chief promoter of BDS in America, to their campuses.

“For nearly two decades, SJP has promoted Hamas lies and propaganda and the genocidal BDS movement in order to establish a beachhead of support for anti-Israel terrorists on American campuses, resulting in a dramatic rise in anti-Semitic incidents and the harassment of Jewish students,” said David Horowitz, founder of the Freedom Center."

Visit https://stopuniversitysupportforterrorists.org/ for more information on SJP’s links to Hamas and to read our new report on “An Epidemic of Jew Hatred on Campus: The Top Ten Neo-Nazi Incidents.”

The David Horowitz Freedom Center, founded in 1988, is a not-for-profit organization located in Sherman Oaks, California. The Center’s mission is to defend free societies like America and Israel, which are under attack by totalitarians both religious and secular, domestic and foreign.

How About a 'Real Disadvantage' SAT Score?
By Lowell Ponte

The SAT will now employ a secret score to show college admission officers if a student has been "privileged" or has been "disadvantaged." With the Supreme Court expected soon to prohibit racial preferences in college admissions, SAT is offering colleges a secret way to find out what students' races likely are. I suggest that fair, non-leftist universities should apply a different yardstick for measuring whether student applicants have overcome social disadvantage... one that determines which students have been "truly disadvantaged." The Biden Masquerade
By James Hirsen

Biden’s latest campaign has come up with a fictional crisis, one of a “soulless” nation that is in need of fixing. His campaign is doing everything it can to avoid the simple fact that the Biden candidacy carries with it an enormous amount of baggage. The former senator and vice president happens to be the embodiment of establishment politics. In addition, he is an apologist for a massive federal bureaucracy. The third-time presidential hopeful has been in the political business for an astounding fifty years. He apparently believes that he is just the guy who will be able fix things, even things that over the last half century he helped to break in the first place. [more...]

Terror Attacks on Saudi Oil Operations Expose the Folly of Rubio and Graham’s Moralism

By Joseph P. Duggan

Tanker ships and the strategic pipeline of Aramco, the world's largest oil company, suffered terrorist attacks last week. Aramco has the monopoly on all Saudi Arabian oil production and is wholly owned by the Saudi government, the United States' most powerful ally in the Middle East.

The attacks at sea and in the heart of Saudi Arabia coincide with the upcoming public release of President Trump's Arab-Israeli peace plan, for which Saudi Arabia and Israel already are signaling support. Iran or its allies are suspected of responsibility for the attacks.

As the crisis intensifies, the U.S. Senate's Dynamic Duo of bellicosity, Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), are calling for harsh new economic sanctions -- against our ally, Saudi Arabia. The world’s least deliberative senators seem to want all-out war against Iran while tying our principal ally’s right arm behind its back.

Rubio and Graham are intent upon punishing Saudi Arabia and its preeminent prince for the October murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a wealthy Saudi oligarch who lately had become a critic of his country's rulers.

Khashoggi’s assassination became a textbook case of disinformation. Rubio and Graham, among other senators and virtually all of the ruling class in Washington, fell for the fakery or helped concoct it.  Khashoggi has been portrayed, falsely, as a martyr for human rights, freedom of the press and democracy. He was no such thing.

I lived in Saudi Arabia for six years, I was acquainted with Khashoggi, and I spoke with him in detail about his work. A charming person, he was an editor and television news executive, but he was never an independent journalist, because there is no independent journalism in Saudi Arabia. He was, to be succinct, an influence agent of the Saudi intelligence agencies for nearly all of his career. During the last year of his life, he had fallen on the outs with the ascendant royal faction around today’s ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The story behind the propaganda is recounted in more detail in my just-published Encounter Books Broadsides edition, Khashoggi, Dynasties, and Double Standards.

Khashoggi’s final months were devoted to producing columns for the Washington Post, criticizing his home country for its lack of liberties and Western-style democracy. But his ideological and personal loyalty by that time was to the revolutionary Muslim Brotherhood – the movement that spawned Al Qaeda and ISIS. The Post has acknowledged evidence that some of Khashoggi’s contributions to its pages had been directed by intelligence operations of Qatar, Saudi Arabia’s wealthy rival and supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood. In reality, Khashoggi’s assassination, gruesome though it was, was what the U.S. and Israel in sanitized bureaucratic language call a “targeted killing” of an individual threatening their national security.

But facts are useless when confronted with Rubio and Graham’s feelings. The senators are determined to “sanction the hell out of Saudi Arabia,” as Graham put it. Before it was known whether Khashoggi had been killed or kidnaped alive, Rubio already had reached the conclusion that Saudi Arabia had to be punished.

The Rubio-Graham approach to international law and order is: Sanction first, ask questions later.

Forty years ago, Jeane Kirkpatrick criticized the Carter administration foreign policy for “lack of realism about the nature of traditional versus revolutionary autocracies and the relation of each to the American national interest.” She also cited that presidency’s twin failings of moralism, which renders it especially vulnerable to charges of hypocrisy” and its “predilection for policies that violate the strategic and economic interests of the United States.”

Those same words apply precisely to the folly of Rubio and Graham. Peace between Israel and its neighbors, and prevention of catastrophic conflict between Iran and the Gulf Arabs, depend on realism about traditional autocracies (e.g., Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) versus revolutionary autocracies (e.g., Khomeinist Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood). Rubio and Graham’s sentimental moralizing gravely undermines U.S. strategic and economic interests as well as chances for greater security and peace in the Middle East.

Tariffs are a Necessary Response to China's Intransigence
By Michael Stumo

Beijing has run roughshod over our economic well-being - and there are national security implications to rampant hacking

The talking heads at CNBC are panicked right now about the higher tariffs President Donald Trump just imposed on China. But we’ve heard their alarmism before, along with frightening economic predictions. Why the hysteria about China? The Trump administration just spent months negotiating a seven-chapter trade deal with Beijing. The resulting agreement was intended to address the very trade disputes that compelled the president to take a hard line on China in the first place: intellectual property theft, hacking of trade secrets, forced technology transfer, trade barriers, and currency manipulation. Democrat Bigots Will Destroy the Country
By David Horowitz

At a graduation ceremony at Liberty University over the weekend, Vice President Mike Pence warned students that it has become “acceptable and even fashionable to ridicule and discriminate against people of faith,” and that they should “be prepared for persecution.” This was a gentle - one might say Christian - way of describing what has become an all-out war on believers. This war which I have described in my book Dark Agenda: The War to Destroy Christian America. This war got into high gear in the 1960s with the banning first of prayer and then of any reference to the Christian foundations of American democracy in the public schools. Once atheism became the only constitutionally protected religion, the war on Christianity became a central source of the political divisions that followed. [more...]

How to Enforce Ethics on Unethical Lawmakers
By Lowell Ponte

Democrats, having lost every previous attempt to destroy Trump, now plan more than a year of rigged hearings before not one, not two, but SIX committees in the House of Representatives. Republicans should play tit for tat by creating a special committee or two in the part of Congress that the GOP controls - the U.S. Senate. Their Senate committee(s) could use every tactic that House Democrats are planning - Stalinist "show trials" of the other party, subpoenas for Democrat tax and other personal records going back many years, questioning about the criminal role of the Democratic National Committee colluding with the Russians to invent the fake "Trump Dossier" used to justify wiretapping and spying on Trump and his people - in effect, letting one party weaponize the FBI and other intelligence agencies for use against the other political party. Republicans in these Senate hearings should question whether Democrats can be trusted with security clearances and even seats in Congress... [more...]

Why Freedom of Speech Should Apply to Google, Facebook and the Internet
By Daniel Greenfield

“But, it’s a private company.” It’s a familiar argument. Bring up the problem of Google, Facebook and Twitter suppressing conservative speech and many conservatives will retort that it’s a free market. The big dot com monopolies created their own companies, didn’t they? And we wouldn’t want government regulation of business. The talking point that Google, Facebook and Twitter are private companies that can discriminate as they please on their private platforms, and that the First Amendment doesn’t apply, is in the air everywhere. But it overlooks two very simple facts. [more...]

U.S. Trade Deficit Edges Up To $50.0B as China Deficit Shrinks to Lowest in Five Years

By Jeff Ferry

The U.S. trade deficit in goods and services edged up in March to $50.0 billion, slightly worse than February’s $49.3 billion. But the big news in today’s report from the Department of Commerce was that the U.S. goods deficit with China has fallen significantly, to just $20.7 billion. This indicates that tariffs on Chinese imports are having a substantial impact on China trade.

The China deficit of $20.7 billion is our smallest deficit since March 2014. Moreover, the improvement has come largely through a reduction in imports. In March, our exports to China were $10.4 billion, $1.9 billion lower than the year-ago March. However, our imports were $31.2 billion in March, $7 billion less than the March year-ago figure, and our lowest monthly China imports level in three years. The sharp reduction in our China imports shows that the tariffs are working. This is clearly visible by looking at last year’s data. Our March 2019 exports to China were equivalent to the monthly rate of exports in 2018, $10 billion a month. But on the import side, the picture is very different. Our 2018 imports from China averaged $44.9 billion a month. So far this year, our imports are averaging just $35 billion a month, and falling each month. [more...]

Why Obama was Most Anti-Christian President

By David Horowitz

Which American president changed the White House Christmas cards from being about Christmas or faith to cards featuring the family dogs and similar non-Christmas related subjects?

Which president decorated the White House Christmas tree with ornaments that included figures such as Mao Zedong and a drag queen?

Which president excluded pro-life groups from attending a White House-sponsored healthcare summit?

Which president nominated three pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican?  And, on and on...

The answer, of course, is President Barack Obama, the most extreme leftwing figure ever to occupy the White House. Obama’s attacks on Christians earned him the title of “America’s Most Biblically Hostile President” from the website Wallbuilders, which listed these incidents. [more...]

Praising Trump's Decision to Increase China Tariffs
By Michael Stumo

We strongly praise the Trump administration’s decision to increase tariff rates on $200 billion worth of imports from China. President Trump had previously delayed a planned tariff increase - scheduled to take effect in January - to allow more time for negotiations with China to proceed. Because Beijing is slow-walking the current trade discussions, however, the president has announced that the tariffs will rise on Friday from 10 percent to a new rate of 25 percent. Additionally, President Trump said that 25 percent tariffs will also be imposed on a further $325 billion worth of imports from China that currently face no tariffs. The tariffs are working and are helping to grow the U.S. economy. To get America moving again, it’s imperative to reclaim our home market from ‘national champion’ companies that receive massive subsidies from China’s central bank. [more...]

The Hypocrisy of the Left
By Lowell Ponte

Could 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' actually be self-hatred by Democrats? Last Friday a liberal Washington Post editorial warned that President Trump's Attorney General William Barr was going to politicize the Department of Justice and use it as a weapon to destroy the Democrats' 2020 presidential candidates. The Post never mentioned that this is precisely what President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the Democratic National Committee did to Trump in 2016. They condemn Trump because the soon-to-come tactics they fear from him are a subconscious reflection - or projection - of their own sinister values and tactics. Democrats Launch Preemptive Strike on Barr
By James Hirsen

The Democratic Party and its willing allies in the mainstream media have a new target in their political sights: Attorney General William Barr who is the latest recipient of the poisonous politics in which Democrats of the extreme partisan kind are engaging. Interestingly, what appears to be lurking in the shadows of the political drama is a kind of raw fear on the part of Democrats who are going on the attack against Attorney General Barr with the goal of destroying the man’s reputation. They are doing so in order to interfere with the efforts of the Department of Justice (DOJ) in unearthing potentially damaging facts relating to the government’s investigation of President Trump. Mapping San Francisco's Human Waste Challenge
By Adam Andrzejewski, Author of Operation Drain the Swamp

San Francisco hosts an estimated homeless population of 7,500 people. Affluent sections of the city have become dangerous with open-air drug use, tens of thousands of discarded needles, and, sadly, human feces. Since 2011, there have been at least 118,352 reported instances of human fecal matter on city streets. New mayor, London Breed, won election by promising to clean things up. However, conditions are the same or worse. Last year, the number of reports spiked to an all-time high at 28,084. In first quarter 2019, the pace continued with 6,676 instances of human waste in the public way. [more...]

The Scourge of Jew Hatred at UCLA

By David Horowitz

In a stealth campaign to reach students directly, the David Horowitz Freedom Center distributed 1,000 newspapers containing its new report on the rising tide of Jew Hatred and its links to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel on the UCLA campus. Titled “An Epidemic of Jew Hatred on Campus: The Top Ten Neo-Nazi Incidents,” the Freedom Center’s report chronicles horrifying instances of anti-Semitism on prestigious American campuses including UCLA, Columbia University, the University of Minnesota, Tufts University, and the University of Michigan, among others. The report’s introduction stresses the role that the terrorist-funded BDS movement plays in promoting anti-Semitism on campus and draws parallels between BDS and the rhetoric and methods employed by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Domestic Producers Tell Congress 'Hands Off' Section 232 Tariff Authority
By Michael Stumo

More than 50 different organizations have sent a letter to Congress opposing efforts to weaken a part of U.S. trade law known as Section 232. In 2018, the Trump administration imposed Section 232 tariffs against global overcapacity that was decimating America’s steel and aluminum sectors while threatening national security. The letter’s signatories, including individual companies and trade organizations in such diverse sectors as agriculture, textiles, tooling, and plastics, consider Section 232 to be a crucial part of U.S. trade law for all industries. Other countries have national strategies to develop their industries and to target the U.S. consumer market. These predatory strategies can negatively impact our national security. Threats like that can emerge, change, or evolve quickly. Future presidents should maintain the full flexibility, under Section 232, to assess and respond to these national, and even economic, security threats in a timely manner. [more...]

An 8-Year Media Lie About How the Syrian War Started is Finally Exposed
By Daniel Greenfield

The end of the big lie about the origins of the Syrian Civil War began on the Arizona border. Claas Relotius, a German reporter for Der Spiegel, had written a piece about being embedded with a militia patrolling the Arizona border for illegal migrants. Gullible German leftist readers were regaled with tales of the militia, whose leader called Mexicans "bean eaters" and, at the end of the article, opened fire into the night. It was one of a series of Relotius articles delving into Trump country with novelistic accounts of pro-Trump Americans that confirmed all the stereotypes of Der Spiegel’s readers. But the residents depicted in the Minnesota town in which ‘Where They Pray for Trump on Sundays’ is set quickly pointed out that much of the article was factually wrong and that Relotius had never even bothered talking to the people he claimed to have been writing about. And a woman doing media relations for the militia contacted Der Spiegel and informed the magazine that he had never been there. That was the beginning of the end. Single-Payer Will Fracture Democrats' 2020 Coalition
By Sally Pipes, President & CEO of the Pacific Research Institute

Earlier this month, Senator Bernie Sanders released a new version of his plan for "Medicare for All." Four of his competitors for the Democratic presidential nomination - Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and Cory Booker - quickly signed on as co-sponsors. They all think Medicare for All is their ticket to the nomination, and ultimately the White House. It's not hard to see why. A recent Reuters survey found that 85 percent of Democrats, and even a slim majority of Republicans, are on board with a single-payer system.
