Makers of 'Naked Gun' Reboot Give David Zucker the Cold-shoulder

Following the trend in Hollywood of resurrecting successes of the past, execs at Paramount have decided to put together a remake of the original "Naked Gun." The casting of the remake is puzzling to say the least. Oddly, the filmmakers involved in the reboot didn't include David Zucker, longtime Hollywood director, producer, and screenwriter in the creation or production of the upcoming movie. Zucker and his partners had submitted a script to Paramount in 2018, and there were indications at the time that the studio liked it. However, Paramount somehow chose to go in a different direction. City Where Emergency Response Time is 36 Minutes Wants to Ban Civilians Carrying Guns for Protection

In 2023, New Orleans had the third highest per capita murder rate in the country, according to the FBI. Last week, New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick claimed that the city can lower this rate by creating a "firearm-free" zone encompassing the French Quarter and beyond. Kirkpatrick is particularly concerned about the dangers of Louisiana's new Constitutional Carry law. How Reliable is the FBI's Report of Violent Crime Data? There are Some Major Problems

The U.S. employs two distinct measures of crime. The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Uniform Crime Reporting program counts the number of crimes reported to police annually. The Bureau of Justice Statistics, in its National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), asks 240,000 people a year whether they have been victims of a crime. The two measures have diverged since 2020: The FBI has reported less crime, while more people say they have been victims. The news media relies exclusively on FBI-reported violent crime data. The FBI-reported crime rates are unrelated to the NCVS. The evidence indicates real problems with the FBI-reported violent crime measure and that the FBI data are extremely misleading after 2020. [more...]

FLORIDA REPUBLICANS FALTER AGAIN ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION

Tallahassee, FL--Florida lawmakers closed up shop in March, failing again for the 8th year to take care of the unfinished business of protecting veteran and other historic memorials and monuments in the state.

This session, Rep. Dean Black (R – Jacksonville) and Senator Thomas Martin (R – Ft. Myers) introduced legislation with multiple provisions to protect and preserve Florida historic monuments and memorials. One key provision would have allowed historic preservation organizations to bring lawsuits against local governments who propose removing historic monuments and memorials.

In the lead up to the session, Cygnal, a national polling firm, stated that 2-to-1, Floridians wanted Confederate monuments protected. But the same poll shows 10-1 Republicans want historic preservation.

The legislation was opposed by the Southern Poverty Law Center and anti-historic preservation groups around Florida who spoke in opposition to the legislation at its committee stops during the process. While 'Critical Race Theory' has been much discussed in Tallahassee, criticism of history was used during the committee meetings, turning the focus of the legislation away from historic preservation and into history shaming sessions of Florida and American history.

Scott Powell, spokesman for Guardians of American History says: "Florida failed again to do the right thing. Each year, the cultural Marxists take more ground and the Florida Republicans have left our public art and history exposed to them by not being courageous enough to stop them."

Al Jazeera isn't the press; it's a terrorist operation.

Al Jazeera, an arm of the Islamic terror state of Qatar, originally the video dump for Osama bin Laden’s greatest hits, bought up much of Washington, D.C. and corrupted the media so that everyone pretends it’s a news organization. The U.S. not only knew that Al Jazeera was a terrorist outlet, but actually used to bomb it. After Oct 6, even as Al Jazeera screamed that Israel was killing its "journalists," evidence showed they were actually terrorists. After Biden and Schumer’s betrayal, now that Israel is throwing caution to the winds and starting to do what it should have done all along, it’s moving to at least temporarily shut down the Islamic terrorist operation.
