High Court Overrules
Leftist Judicial Insanity
By
Joseph
Klein
The
Supreme Court has restored a measure of sanity to the judiciary. On Monday, it overruled
significant portions of the decisions of two of the country's most liberal
federal appeals courts, enjoining the implementation of President Trump's 90-day
suspension of travel from six terrorist prone countries and 120-day suspension
on the entry of all refugees. The Supreme Court handed the president a
partial victory, but a victory nonetheless. His second executive order
temporarily suspending travel from Somalia, Yemen, Iran, Sudan, Libya and
Syria, pending an executive department review of current vetting procedures,
has now been cleared to go into effect immediately, except as to visitors with
"a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in
the United States." [more...]
Monumental Costs in New
Orleans
Last
month the iconic statue of confederate General Robert E. Lee was removed. This
was the last of four confederate era statues to be removed as they were
collectively declared a public nuisance. The controversy over the removal of
these monuments reflect the true polarized nature of the New Orleanian
population. While much of New Orleans takes fierce pride in their Southern
traditions and history, others see the confederate monuments as a means of
romanticizing men who fought for the preservation slavery, as well as men who
committed treason and sedition against the United States. The total cost for
the project was a staggering $2.1 million. [more...]
Johnny Depp May Have
Broken the Law

While
out promoting his latest film at the Glastonbury arts festival in the U.K., actor
Johnny Depp let loose with a not-so-veiled threat on the life of the President
of the United States. Depp’s statement begs the question of whether or not the
actor committed an illegal act. The United States Code in Title 18, Section 871
makes the threatening of the President of the United States a felony. Anyone
who “knowingly and willfully” makes “any threat to take the life of...” the
president can be sentenced for up to five years and/or fined. Depp’s case would
be investigated by the U.S. Secret Service, and law enforcement professionals
there would have to determine whether the statements made could be considered a
genuine threat. [more...]
Tesla, North Korea,
NAFTA and Rethinking America’s Growth Strategy?
President
Trump declared that China’s efforts with North Korea have failed. Tesla, despite
Elon Musk’s prior commitment to USA-made electric cars, announced that it is in
talks to build a plant in Shanghai. It may be time to shift America’s China
strategy away from diplomacy towards actions we can take without negotiations. After
campaigning aggressively against China’s nationalistic and economic
aggressiveness, the Trump Administration decided to try more standard
diplomacy. North Korean missile testing was a very important backstory.
In April, China agreed to help prevent Kim Jong Un from conducting more nuclear
missile testing. The Trump administration did not declare China a currency
manipulator in April. [more...]
Will
America Die of Puerto Rican Plague?
By
Lowell Ponte
According to the Constitution, no U.S. state or territory
such as Puerto Rico can escape a $74 billion debt – run up by liberal-spending,
vote-buying local politicians – by declaring bankruptcy. But the U.S. Congress
opened the door last year via PROMESA legislation to something like Puerto
Rican bankruptcy, thereby setting a precedent for states such as Illinois –
whose irresponsible politicians have put them into an economic “death spiral” –
to renege on their debts as well. [more...]
Trump Needs to Fight
Back Against Vicious Liberals
Here’s
a simple four-step plan that guarantees victories for Trump and the GOP in 2018
and 2020. Mr. President, please understand your opposition is vicious. They
want to destroy you. They don’t care what they have to do to achieve their
goals - and that clearly includes encouraging and inspiring violence and even
assassination. You humiliated liberals. You shocked them with your November
victory. You’ve literally driven them mad with rage. The typical liberal needs
a straitjacket, a rubber room and his mommy. But this is no laughing matter.
They want to stop you at all costs. Even after the D.C. shooting, Bernie
Sanders went on TV and recommended liberal radicals “act in unprecedented ways...
fight back in every way you can.” [more...]
