Trump’s Tariffs Could Put Money in the Pockets of America’s Farmers
By Michael Stumo, CEO of the Coalition for a Prosperous America

Fears of retaliation by China are greatly exaggerated, and the potential gains far outweigh the possible downsides

President Donald Trump’s recently implemented trade strategy - including tariffs on subsidized imports from China - is drawing fire from multinational agribusinesses and their trade associations. They favor a borderless world, and they support the free trade agreements of the past 20 years. Family farmers and ranchers, however, have a different view. They no longer believe current free trade agreements will benefit them. Net farm income this year is projected to be the lowest since 2006. The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) transformed America’s agricultural trade surplus with Mexico and Canada into a deficit. [more...]

The “Fundamental Transformation” of Both Parties

Hillary Clinton’s latest excuse for losing the 2016 election is that she is a “capitalist” but “41 percent of Democrats are socialists...” Hillary Clinton is a “capitalist” as Marx used the term. She favors crony capitalism in which privileged elitists get rich via government favors. She rules a billion-dollar foundation that demanded kickbacks from those seeking favors from the Secretary of State... favors like a Russian company acquiring 20% of America’s precious uranium reserves while her foundation pocketed from Russian interests at least $145 million. Most of the Republican Party, meanwhile, thanks to President Trump, is moving away from the globalist, collectivist agenda of Progressivism that has ruled both parties since World War II. Mr. Trump is restoring both nationalism and America’s borders. He is returning America to its historic role as an experiment in liberty that unites enterprising, liberty-seeking citizens from around the world in the first “new nation,” a great model of free enterprise for Planet Earth to follow. John Kerry’s Contemptible Collusion

Former Secretary of State John Kerry has been colluding with the enemy, back-channeling with leaders of a totalitarian regime that fosters terrorism, and working against the national security interests of the United States. Kerry has committed a textbook violation of the Logan Act, a 1799 law that has never resulted in a conviction. The law is violated when a private citizen negotiates without authorization on behalf of the United States in disputes with foreign governments. The rationale behind the law seeks to prevent an individual with international contacts from thwarting the policy of the nation. This is exactly what Kerry has been attempting. Why bring up a law from centuries past? [more...]

The Doctor Shortage: Fact or Fiction?

In a recent study, The Association of American Medical Colleges has projected that there will be a doctor shortage between 42,000 and 120,300 by 2030. This is a stunning number when you break down the fact that the shortage will affect primary care doctors (14,800 – 49,300); specialists (33,800 – 72,700); and surgical sub specialists (20,700 – 30,500). The looming crisis is magnified by the fact that increasing demand from both a growing and an aging population must be considered. How did we get to this point? Perhaps it is because Congress passed The Balanced Budget Act of 1997 which limited the number of residency positions in the US. Because of this, there are doctors who graduate from medical school each year who cannot be licensed to practice medicine because they cannot find a residency. Physicians must complete at least one year of residency to be eligible to practice medicine. Instead of taking care of patients in underserved communities, these doctors are unnecessarily sidelined. [more...]

Marx’s Apologists Should Be Red in the Face

The bicentennial of the man whose ideas killed untold millions

May 5th marked the bicentennial of Karl Marx, who set the stage with his philosophy for the greatest ideological massacres in history. Or did he? He did, but deniers still remain. “Only a fool could hold Marx responsible for the Gulag,” writes Francis Wheen in “Karl Marx: A Life”. Stalin, Mao and Kim Il Sung, Mr. Wheen insists, created “bastard creeds,” “wrenched out of context” from Marx’s writings. Marx has been accused of ambiguity in his writings. That critique is often justified, but not always. In “The Communist Manifesto,” he and Friedrich Engels were quite clear that “the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: abolition of private property.” [more...]

Why There Can Never Be Another Rush Limbaugh

If you’ve looked at talk radio scene recently, you have probably noticed there’s a certain stagnation or entropy that’s set in. It’s been years since a major talent exploded upon the scene, garnering millions of listeners and fans. The conclusion to be drawn: Due to numerous changes, demographic, technological, financial, economic and political, terrestrial based talk show hosts are rapidly becoming an endangered species. That’s not to say that Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, Levin and others are at risk losing their relevance, but rather it’s an observation that the new talent pipeline won’t be providing their successors anytime soon.
