Confronting the Reality of Failed Federal Policy on Homelessness and the Need for Reform

The problems linked to homelessness, including substance abuse, mental illness, and crime are increasing in America despite untold sums of government money spent to address this complex problem. A new report from Discovery Institute, says Congress and Executive Branch need to focus more on untreated mental illness and substance abuse to reduce homelessness, drug overdoses, jail overcrowding, and misuse of emergency rooms. In essence, we have created an enormous federal homeless assistance program that is functionally equivalent to HUD Section 8 housing - but with no rules. The success of federal programs should not be measured by amounts of inputs - such as numbers of housing vouchers delivered - but by the number of persons recovered from homelessness. Covering for Fetterman May Cost the Media a Senate Seat

The media could have pushed for the truth after Lt. Gov. Fetterman’s stroke, instead, it continued to favor the woke Frankenstein because he had all the left views. Historically, the label "Christian" is a badge of assurance that their businesses are moral, honest, trustworthy, and above board. It's a shorthand way of saying the highest standards can and should be expected. But using that particular word for either personal or business reasons can also put you at risk and may get you fired, jailed, or fined, depending on what they say and do. China's Attempt to Warp the 2022 Midterm Election

Media Spin on Gun Control Doesn’t Match Voters’ Opinions

Red flag laws are the top priority of Democrats and gun control advocates. Polls show that Americans overwhelmingly support these measures – by margins ranging between 2-1 and 3-1. Congress recently passed legislation providing funding for states that adopted these laws. But the polling doesn’t really gauge whether Americans understand how these laws operate. The surveys generally just ask people if they support laws that “allow guns to be temporarily confiscated by a judge from people considered by a judge to be a danger to themselves or others." Respondents might reasonably assume that a normal legal process is being followed, whereby complaints are made and witnesses are cross-examined. With a law that almost always involves fears of suicide, they might presuppose that mental health experts are involved in the process. [more...]

The Supreme Court will soon hear arguments about the use of racial preferences in college admissions. On this score, a curious divergence in opinion has arisen in recent years. While the public has moved sharply in one direction, academia has raced in the exact opposite. For instance, in 1996 Californians voted by a 9-point margin to approve Proposition 209, a constitutional amendment to ban the use of racial preferences in public employment and college admissions. Support For Red Flag Laws Turns to Opposition When Voters are Told About How They Work

The study's author suggests 'really biased' framing of poll questions greatly skews support for red flag laws.

A new study shows that the attitude of Americans toward red flag laws, where guns are taken away from citizens by a judge who determines they are a danger to themselves or others, dramatically changes from support to opposition when more detail is provided in the poll question about the process of gun confiscation via the legal process. The recently released study of 1,000 likely voters conducted by the Crime Prevention Research Center initially showed that 58% of people support red flag laws when told the "primary purpose is to allow judges to take away a person's gun based on a single complaint when there is a concern about that individual committing suicide." When respondents were told there are no hearings where a defendant presents their case to a judge before their gun rights are taken away and mental health experts are not involved in the process, the 58% support drops down to 30% with 47% opposing. Single Adults Crossed the Border Almost Double the Size of U.S. Military

The number of single adults who have crossed over into the United States illegally through the Mexican border is 180% larger than our standing military - ALMOST DOUBLE!

While the mainstream media wants you to believe that the majority of so-called "migrants" consists of family units coming to America for a better life, the reality is that 66% of all those who have crossed the border are single adults; and most are military-age men - not family units. And one third are from countries outside of Mexico and Central America. 

Consider this: number of active-duty military - 1,357,753; single adults who crossed our border illegally: 2,436,082 (out of the over 3.5 million who crossed through the Mexican border - not counting the almost one million who crossed undetected).

Russia has deployed up to 190,000 troops to invade Ukraine. We have nearly 3.7 million invading our southern border alone since Biden took office.

CBS’s Stephen Colbert Calls Jesus a "Cuck," A Sex Voyeur... Will There Be Christian Outrage?

My organization has sent a letter to the CEO and President of CBS Entertainment Group demanding a meeting after Late Show host Stephen Colbert called Jesus a "cuck" during an episode of The Late Show. He used a word to describe Jesus Christ that should have had CBS executives running for cover. At the same time, they should have been frantically penning a lengthy apology to Christians worldwide while drafting a termination notice for its Late Show host. Angered at Gov. Ron DeSantis sending two planeloads of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Colbert told his audience, "Just like that cuck Jesus, send that guy a truckload of lepers, see how he likes it." Colbert's blasphemous depiction of Jesus as a "cuck" came and went with little fanfare, perhaps because most Americans are unfamiliar with the vulgar description of someone being branded with the term. Media Spin on Gun Control Doesn’t Match Voters’ Opinions

Red flag laws are the top priority of Democrats and gun control advocates. Polls show that Americans overwhelmingly support these measures – by margins ranging between 2-1 and 3-1. Congress recently passed legislation providing funding for states that adopted these laws. But the polling doesn’t really gauge whether Americans understand how these laws operate. The surveys generally just ask people if they support laws that “allow guns to be temporarily confiscated by a judge from people considered by a judge to be a danger to themselves or others." Respondents might reasonably assume that a normal legal process is being followed, whereby complaints are made and witnesses are cross-examined. With a law that almost always involves fears of suicide, they might presuppose that mental health experts are involved in the process. [more...]

CAN Demands a Meeting with CBS After Stephen Colbert Calls Jesus a 'Cuck'

The Christian Action Network has sent a letter to the CEO and President of CBS Entertainment Group demanding a meeting after Late Show host Stephen Colbert called Jesus a "cuck" during his September 15, 2022 episode. The word "cuck," according to the NY Times, is short for "cuckold, which is a subgenre of pornography in which a hapless husband is forced to not only watch his wife have sex with another man but - oh dear, I had better stop." "Christian Action Network is requesting a meeting with CBS executives to discuss an acceptable public apology for allowing one of its network programs to use a deplorable form of character assassination to describe Jesus Christ," said MartinMawyer, president of CAN, a Lynchburg, VA pro-family organization founded in 1990.

"We further recommend that Stephen Colbert issue an apology and seek Christian forgiveness for the use of this vulgar word that reduces Christ to a porn fetish or that he be suspended or terminated," Mawyer wrote in his letter to the CEO and President of CBS Entertainment Group, George Cheeks. FBI Undercounts Number of Times Armed Citizens Have Thwarted Active Shooting Incidents

Some see a pattern of distortion in the FBI numbers.

A new report from the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) argues that the FBI's data contains "massive errors" when tracking active shooting incidents, undercounting how often armed citizens have thwarted active-shooting situations over the last eight years. 

"Although collecting such data is fraught with challenges, some see a pattern of distortion in the FBI numbers because the errors almost exclusively go one way, minimizing the life-saving actions of armed citizens," the report, which was provided to Fox News Digital this week by Crime Prevention Research Center founder and president Dr. John Lott, states.  

Data released by the nonprofit shows that 34.4% of active shootings were thwarted by armed citizens between 2014 and 2021. However, FBI data show only 4.4% of active shootings were thwarted by armed citizens during that time period. [more...]

Amazon in Business with Chinese Defense Contractor Banned By Washington

Amazon’s cloud service wing, known by the acronym AWS, is in business with two Chinese surveillance technology defense contractors that have been put on the so-called Entity List over at the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). The entities in question are Hikvision and Dahua, two tech companies that are used heavily in that Western Chinese Uyghur prison province known as Xinjiang. Getting on that list means the U.S. government sees foul play – or activities counter to U.S. foreign policy interests – and will restrict U.S. companies from engaging in helping that foul play continue.
