Price Controls on Prescription Drugs
By Sally Pipes, Author of The World's Medicine Chest
In The World's
Medicine Chest: How America Gained Pharmaceutical Supremacy - and How to Keep
It, I explore how free markets facilitated the extraordinary
pharmaceutical advances the U.S. has achieved over the past century - from
life-saving vaccines to cutting-edge cancer treatments. But over the last few
decades, governments the world over have chipped away at - or outright
eliminated - many of the incentives that lead investors, drug manufacturers,
and scientists to develop new medicines. Every European nation now levies some
kind of price control on prescription drugs. And Democrats during the Biden
administration enacted the very first price controls on prescription drugs
through Medicare. The first tranche of price controls begin on Jan. 1, 2026 on
10 drugs under Medicare Part D. By embracing price controls, the U.S.
government risks killing the innovation engine that has made this country the
world's medicine chest. [more...]
Tariff Threats Take Aim at Fentanyl Trafficking
According to Dr. Robert Marbut, of the first Trump
administration and Producer of Fentanyl:
Death Incorporated, President Trump’s plan to impose
tariffs on goods from Mexico, Canada and China is partly aimed at
combating the illicit flow of fentanyl into the U.S., where the opioid is
blamed for some 70,000 overdose deaths annually. “Fentanyl is an
existential threat to the U.S. unlike anything we’ve ever seen. If it takes a
tariff to get the attention of Canada and Mexico to do the right thing, then
that’s what we have to do." The ingredients in fentanyl are largely
produced by companies in China and used by pharmaceutical companies to make
legal painkillers. But a portion of those chemicals is purchased by the Sinaloa
and Jalisco cartels in Mexico. [more...]
FEMA Gave out Funds Violating President Trump's Guidance
By Colonel (Ret.) John Mills, Author of War Against the Deep State
DOGE rides toward the sounds of the Deep State slush fund cannons.
FEMA tried to pull a fast one and give out funds anyway. This
largesse has been used since COVID to pay off hotel franchisees who allow their
facilities to be trashed by illegal aliens while being well paid by taxpayers. Too
bad - they will have to re-capitalize on their own. A total fraud - and FEMA
staff will learn a hard lesson on civil service employment. All IGs should be
fired for allowing this and not aggressively enforcing this. [more...]
Musk, DOGE, and Washington's Unavoidable Corruption
By Scott Powell, Author of Rediscovering America
While USAID was just shuttered, its story is important because
it reveals the transmission belts that the Deep State uses to enlist and
redirect other U.S. agencies to support the political agendas that are central
to the cultural Marxist transformation at home and abroad. Until Elon
Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) uncovered the records of
USAID diverting taxpayer funds to countless ideological transformation
initiatives in countries all over the world, most Americans assumed the agency
established by JFK more than 60 years ago was a noble force serving
humanitarian needs. What has actually been going on at USAID is part of an
elitist cultural Marxist agenda that has infiltrated almost all government
agencies - a process known as “the long march through the institutions” - a
descriptive term coined by Antonio Gramsci, a founding member and leader of the
Communist Party in Italy in the 1920s. [more...]
Trump’s Three-Pronged Tariff Strategy
By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America
The White House is following a three-pronged tariff strategy
laid out by Trump on the campaign trail and echoed by Treasury Secretary Scott
Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in their Senate confirmation
hearings. “You should think of tariffs three ways,” Bessent said. “One
will be for remedying unfair trade practices either in an industry or by a
country, like steel and China. Another will be as a revenue source; and third
is to use it for negotiations with countries like Mexico for the fentanyl
crisis.” The tariff threats against America’s northern and southern
neighbors were designed to exact concessions from these countries to help Trump
address the flow of migrants and drugs across the border. [more...]
Hollywood Rages Impotently About Anti-Fascist Trump
By Mark Tapson, Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center
In the wake of a recent poll which only confirmed what President
Trump’s election landslide proved - that celebrities have become politically
irrelevant - Hollywood continues to rage impotently against the new President
with their tired, old, ineffective smears that he and his new administration
are “fascists” and “Nazis.” The Left has spent every waking moment since Trump
announced his presidential run back in 2015 trying to demonize him as Hitler
2.0. The coordinated media smearing of Trump as a more dangerous fascist than
Benito Mussolini was so relentless and demonstrably false that it ultimately
backfired; last November, voters rejected the fear-mongering propaganda and
embraced a positive, hopeful movement to Make America Great Again. [more...]
The Rising Power of the Podcast
By James Hirsen, NY Times Bestselling Author, International Business Attorney, News Analyst & Cultural Commentator
An interesting thing is happening in the new “Golden Age of
America.” The mainstream media are quietly fading away. Although former media
giants have been losing their credibility, influence, and audiences for quite a
stretch of time, things really seem to have accelerated over the past couple of
weeks. Thanks in large part to a whole lot of fake reporting, many left-leaning
outlets had simply lost the public trust. That’s when the media vehicles of
podcasting and streaming stepped up to provide a much-needed alternative to
ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. And
what happened is quite remarkable. New media figures that were accurate,
informative, and real became more powerful and more influential than their
media predecessors had been. [more...]
