The UN’s Dead End in
Syria
By
Joseph
Klein
The
United Nations Security Council met in a closed session on June 19th regarding
the ongoing Syrian crisis. It heard from Maj. General Robert Mood, the
commander of the three hundred unarmed UN observers who are supposed to monitor
the situation in Syria but have been stymied. Herve Ladsous, the Under
Secretary General for Peacekeeping operations, also addressed the Security
Council members. Both men briefed the press following the Security Council
meeting. To nobody’s surprise, they expressed frustration with the continuing
level of violence in Syria, which had caused Maj. General Mood to suspend the
patrols of his monitors last week. The monitors remain in limbo, staying put in
their current positions. Their current mandate is due to expire on July 20th. [more...]
Fast and Furious
Uncovers Much Larger Problems than are Being Recognized
By

Fast
and Furious is a symptom, but not the true underlying problem. Treating
symptoms doesn’t cure the disease. In my new book, No Tomorrows: How to Halt America's Imminent
Collapse and Return to the American Dream – And Why it Must Start with the 2012
Elections, I address the three core problems that must be fixed

or that we have seen the Speaker of the House do. True leaders do what’s right
regardless of the cost to themselves, even if it means they lose their jobs. We
don’t see any attitude like that in most of the people leading our nation. [more...]
God Help Boxing - Here Come Reid, McCain and the Feds
Our politicians can agree on nothing. There hasn’t even
been a budget presented or passed in three years. Yet Arizona Republican
Senator John McCain and Nevada Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, two
of the most prominent leaders of their respective parties, are joining hands to
fight the biggest threat of our time - drumroll please - bad boxing decisions. Yes,
you heard me correctly. Harry Reid and John McCain have gotten together to
introduce legislation that would create a U.S. Boxing Commission. With all the
problems and crisis in our world, this is the priority for our politicians. And
you wonder why Rome (or in this case, Washington, D.C.) is burning? [more...]
Jeb Bush Endorses
Romney
By
Tom Bevan
Former
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush released a statement Wednesday morning endorsing Mitt
Romney for president. "Now is the time for Republicans to unite behind
Governor Romney and take our message of fiscal conservatism and job creation to
all voters this fall," Bush said. The former two-term governor of Florida
remains a popular figure within the Republican Party and has been consistently
mentioned as a potential choice in a brokered-convention scenario. Bush's
endorsement comes just hours after Romney's double-digit win in the Illinois
primary on Tuesday. [more...]
