To Defeat Obama in 2012, Tell the Story of Chicago's Decline
Chicago is like Kryptonite to Obama. It is poison to the
story that Obama paints of 'hope and change' - because the Windy City itself is
in decay and collapsing - not just economically, but morally. It is descending
into the violence and poverty of a third world nation. It is the story that
Obama cannot run away from. Chicago is his city. It is his foundation. It is
the love of his life. But the results are more like the curse of his life.
Obama’s Chicago is what we never want America to become. Chicago is the
American nightmare. Obama denies Kenya and expects us to take him at his word.
But he doesn’t deny Chicago. He embraces Chicago. He is proud of Chicago. And
therein lies the key to beating Obama. [more...]
California SEIU Members Score Multiple Victories over "SEIU 1%"
By
Dave
Bego
Last week was a bad week for the SEIU Big Labor Bosses
(or as Mariam the Mighty
refers to them, the "SEIU 1%"). Mariam, whose fight against SEIU
intimidation and misuse of membership dues is chronicled in The Devil at Our
Doorstep, has firsthand knowledge of SEIU abuses. Mariam works
for the State of California, and is an SEIU member who recently won a court
case forcing the SEIU to allow her to audit its financial records in an attempt
to expose the SEIU’s misuse of membership dues for non-germane purposes, such
as political contributions. Supporting the California court’s decision, the
U.S. Supreme Court issued a 7-2 decision this past Thursday, affirming that
adequate notice and opportunity to vote down fee increases for political
purposes must be given, which in effect finds the union thug financing
scheme illegal. [more...]
Fracking Creates Hundreds of Thousands of Jobs
A report that was commissioned by America’s National Gas
Alliance has been released, which shows that as many as 1.5 million new U.S.
jobs will be created by a new technology called fracking (hydraulic fracturing)
and horizontal drilling, which have been able to take previously tapped
resources and unlock hidden natural gas and oil deposits. These technologies
have given a major boom to our oil production and have enabled the industry to
get more out of less. In 2010, over 288,222 jobs were created in Texas
utilizing this unconventional natural gas drilling technique. In Louisiana,
over 81,022 jobs were created. Another 22,773 were created in California. Remember
that when jobs are created in the oil and gas industry everyone benefits
including suppliers, contractors and jobs created when those folks spend their
paychecks at restaurants, malls, auto dealerships, etc. Efforts to stop
horizontal drilling and fracking altogether are misguided. America’s economic
and energy problems are real, and we have a viable, environmentally conscious
solution in Natural Gas. We just have to use it. [more...]
Analysis: The
Egyptian Elections
By

Stern, Founder and President
of the Endowment
for Middle East Truth (EMET)
This
past weekend, Mohammad Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood was declared the winner
in the Egyptian Presidential elections. This is a watershed event. The Muslim
Brotherhood is a radical Islamist group that was founded in 1928 by Hassan al
Banna, a devotee of Adolf Hitler. For eighty four years it has been a goal of
the Muslim Brotherhood to turn Egypt into an Islamist state, and to be able to
spread the flag of Islam throughout the world. Many people have called this,
"a milestone for Egyptian democracy." Nothing could be further from
the truth. This is as much a milestone for democracy in Egypt as the voting in
of Hamas is a milestone for democracy in Gaza, or the voting in of Hitler was a
milestone for democracy in Nazi Germany. [more...]
