Presidential Race Heats Up
What are the polls telling us? Since the second
Republican Presidential Debate on CNN, the polls have tightened and four groups
have emerged. At the top, Tier 1 candidates are Donald Trump and Ben
Carson. What's changed at the top is Trump has lost momentum and is no
longer climbing rapidly. He has leveled out, while Ben Carson has come up
and essentially met Trump in the low 20% range. In the latest NBC/WSJ national
poll, Trump has 21% to Carson's 20%. In the North Carolina
Republican Presidential Primary poll by Elon University, Trump was at 22%
to Carson's 21% - very close in both cases. These polls are probably
indicating a statistical dead heat. Recall, too, Carson has huge
favorability ratings which foreshadow potential upward polling pressure. [Go here for a complete analysis...]
Friend
or Foe - What China's Data Hack Means for U.S. Security
It's
like something out of a spy movie: a foreign nation hacks into a secure U.S.
government network and steals the records of 22 million government personnel,
including 5.6 million sets of fingerprints. CIA agents' identities are
compromised, millions of government workers and contractors may be at risk to
blackmail and identity theft. China made the Office of Personnel Management the
victim of such espionage this summer, and only now has O.P.M. realized the full
scope of the attack. After the breach occurred, O.P.M. estimated it lost one
million sets of fingerprints. Thursday, however, the agency announced the loss
of an additional four million. O.P.M.'s latest disclosure about the hack came
just a day before President Obama met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The
leaders of the world’s two largest economies met to discuss climate and
economic policies, as well as present a strong union between the two nations.
U.S. agencies such as the F.B.I. and Department of Homeland Security have yet
to officially make claims against the Chinese government, but once Obama and Xi
Jinping’s meeting ends, we can expect talk of some form of sanction or penalty. [more...]
Biden
Backers Emerge in Hollywood
By
James
Hirsen
Hillary
Clinton recently made a cash stop at the Hollywood ATM via a $2,700 per ticket
fundraiser, which was held at the home of Lionsgate co-chairman Rob Friedman.
Interestingly, VP Joe Biden appeared that very same weekend at a
celebrity-draped gala on global inequality, which took place at New York City's
Central Park. At the Global Citizen Festival, Biden and First Lady Michelle
Obama joined a long list of notables, which included musicians Beyonce, Pearl
Jam, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and Bono; actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Hugh
Jackman, Kerry Washington, Olivia Wilde, and Salma Hayek; and technology
magnates Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. Biden's presence at the high-profile
gathering seemed to add fuel to the burgeoning expectation that he is going to
challenge Clinton in the battle to become the presidential nominee of the
Democratic Party. [more...]
Does
the Bible Condemn Abortion?
By
Joe
Messina
Many
on the Left and Liberal Christians are looking for an 18th Commandment or
something that says "thou shalt not have an abortion." The Bible
doesn't use the word "abortion." There is a Commandment that says,
"Thou shalt not kill." Actually, if you study instead of just read,
you will find it says "Thou shalt not murder." Big difference. Since
a lot of you don't believe that the "cells" in the mother's uterus
are a baby or human, this may go over your head. BUT God calls it a baby, a
child, a being that He knew before it was conceived. [more...]
Pope
Francis's Progressive UN Speech Avoids Confronting Islamic Jihad
By
Joseph
Klein
Pope
Francis addressed the United Nations General Assembly on September 25th.
He started out by praising the UN. He
then proceeded to challenge the world leaders and diplomats in attendance in
the packed chamber. He called upon them to move beyond the "selfish and
boundless thirst for power and material prosperity," which, the Pope
warned, "leads both to the misuse of available natural resources and to
the exclusion of the weak and disadvantaged." The Pope did not refer in
his speech specifically to the Christian and Yazidi victims of genocide,
slavery and sexual exploitation in the Middle East and parts of Africa at the
hands of Islamist jihadists. He had a chance to confront evil and call out its
specific perpetrators who are committing horrific crimes in the name of their
religion. Instead, he chose to use much of his speech to call attention to more
general environmental and social justice issues, which are his recurrent
themes. [more...]
Hillary
Clinton - Lying to Voters is "Badge of Intellectual Courage"
First,
Hillary Clinton cashed in on Keystone pipeline backers by acting like she might
support the pipeline. Then she needed the left badly enough to prematurely
reveal her true position. She tried to blame her games on Obama and Kerry, even
though they were playing the same game she was. Then she began babbling
nonsense. Hillary Clinton is spewing nonsense that she doesn't even seem to
understand. All that oil has achieved a different "different degree of
dirtiness" with greenhouses gasses? [more...]
How
Much Trouble is Hillary In? Is Trump Still Dominating the GOP Race?
How
much trouble is Hillary in? Which race – Republican or Democrat – is in more
flux? Is Trump still dominating the GOP race? Has the Pope's visit enlightened
