Leading Watchdog Group Releases List of “Top Ten Worst Schools Supporting Terrorists” in 2017

Brandeis University, San Francisco State, UC-Berkeley, and UW-Madison all made the list

Brooklyn College (CUNY), Brandeis University, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and the University of Houston are among 10 American colleges and universities cited by the David Horowitz Freedom Center as the “Top Ten Worst Schools Supporting Terrorists” in a report released today. As stated in the report, student organizations at these campuses - most notably the Hamas-linked group Students for Justice in Palestine - receive “funding and organizational support” from terrorists in order to “whitewash actual terrorist attacks and promote the genocidal lies of terrorist organizations, specifically Hamas, whose stated goal is the destruction of the Jewish state.”

In alphabetical order, the ten campuses are: Brandeis University, Brooklyn College (CUNY), DePaul University, San Francisco State University, University of California-Berkeley, University of California-Irvine, University of Chicago, University of Houston, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

As revealed in recent congressional testimony, Students for Justice in Palestine is a campus front for Hamas terrorists. SJP’s propaganda activities are orchestrated and funded by a Hamas front group, American Muslims for Palestine, whose chairman is Hatem Bazian and whose principals are former officers of the Holy Land Foundation and other Islamic “charities” previously convicted of funneling money to Hamas. Hamas is a State Department-designated terrorist organization whose explicit goals, as stated in its charter, are the destruction of the Jewish state, and the extermination of its Jews.

“Students for Justice in Palestine together with other student organizations such as the Muslim Students Association, and Jewish Voice for Peace have formed a coalition to spread Hamas propaganda,” explains Freedom Center founder David Horowitz. “This propaganda effort was designed to destroy the Jewish state, annihilate the Jewish people, and fan the flames of hatred for America as Israel’s ‘protector.’ Their mission - aided by funding and organizational support from Hamas - is to whitewash actual terrorist attacks and promote the genocidal lies of terrorist organizations in order to weaken the Jewish state, deny it legitimacy, and ultimately destroy it.”

“American universities such as those named in our report allow these terrorist allies to use their authority and prestige to lend this genocidal offensive an aura of respectability,” Horowitz continued. “Our campaign intends to expose SJP and other supporters of BDS as fronts for Hamas and to press universities to cease their funding and support of these organizations.”

As part of this campaign to expose the links between SJP and Hamas, and to make that relationship known to students, the Freedom Center placed posters on the campuses named in the report which depict the organization Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) as a puppet of Hamas terrorists and denounce convicted terrorist Rasmieh Odeh as a “Terrorist Murderer” who is nonetheless celebrated as a “hero” by anti-Israel campus groups. Additional posters also listed the names of students and faculty on each campus who are instruments of the Hamas terror campaign. Each poster contained the hashtag #StopUniversitySupportforTerrorists.

The report and posters are part of a larger Freedom Center campaign titled Stop University Support for Terrorists. Images of the posters that appeared at UC-Berkeley may be viewed at www.stopuniversitysupportforterrorists.org.

The David Horowitz Freedom Center, founded in 1988, is a not-for-profit organization located in Sherman Oaks, California. The Center’s mission is to defend free societies like America and Israel, which are under attack by totalitarians both religious and secular, domestic and foreign.
