Ilhan Omar Accuses Those She Hates of Being 'Phobic'
By Karen Kataline
In response to the media storm involving her on-again, off-again
trip to Israel with fellow freshman Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, Rep. Ilhan
Omar said that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has "aligned himself with
Islamophobes like Donald Trump." This statement would have been
entertaining if it hadn’t been so deadly, dangerous and sad. With this comment
and others, Omar has implied that if only - Benjamin Netanyahu in this case -
didn’t suffer from "Islamophobia" there would be peace in the Middle
East. [more...]
Trump and the Greenland New Deal
By Lowell Ponte
President Trump is talking about the possibility of buying
Greenland, the world's largest island, 80 percent of which is covered with ice.
Does he know that in year 986 the Viking Erik the Red began selling Greenland
to settlers by claiming it was green and offered them rich farmland? Just
as with Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, the label "green" has been used to fool
people. The Little Ice Age in the North Atlantic destroyed Viking settlements
in Greenland. We appear to be at a similar point in a climate cycle, with
another brief once-in-a-thousand-years period of warming that began in 1850 now
about to end. The island is rich in mineral wealth, but if its ice
melted, this could raise global sea levels by 23 feet and submerge Miami. [more...]
Katy Perry's #HeToo Problem
By James Hirsen
Just as our country continues to grapple with the serious issues
that have been brought to light as a result of efforts on the part of
individuals, groups, and movements such as #MeToo and #Time’sUp, along comes an
unexpected twist to the societal plotline. Alleged incidents involving sexual
misconduct by one very famous celebrity have Hollywood once again in a social
conscious quandary. Mega star Katy Perry is currently suffering through an
unfortunate “life imitates art” moment related to her hit song “I Kissed a
Girl.” [more...]
What American Jews Don't Understand About BDS
By Daniel Greenfield
There’s no place on earth that boycotters of Israel like
visiting more than... Israel. Omar Barghouti, the Qatari founder of the BDS
movement, has been living in Israel for 25 years. And the activist who helped
introduce the boycott of Israel to the world has spent many of those years
arguing that he should be allowed to live in Israel, attend Israeli schools,
and shop for Israeli products. Earlier this year, the United States refused to
allow Barghouti to enter this country, either due to his support for terrorism
or the tax evasion case. The boycotter had finally become the boycotted. And
boycotting BDS is the best way to beat it. [more...]
'Medicare-for-All' Would be Hazardous to the Health of Seniors
By Sally Pipes, President & CEO of the Pacific
Research Institute
Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., had a run-in with the Greatest
Generation on Aug. 12. Roberta Jewell, a resident at the Bickford Senior Living
Center in Muscatine, Iowa, told the Democratic presidential hopeful to
"leave our health care alone." Like many Americans, Jewell is reluctant
to embrace the "Medicare-for-all" plans Harris and
several of her Democratic colleagues have proposed. The Iowan is right to be
wary. Medicare-for-all would destroy Medicare as we know it -- and make it
harder for seniors to access care. [more...]
