Leftism is Destructive to Mental Health
By Karen Kataline
Laws which disarm victims in an ever more dangerous environment,
seem to be exactly what Democrats are after. Republicans have shown themselves
willing to roll over to avoid the political heat of the moment. Consequently,
everyday citizens are again blamed and punished for the criminal behavior of a
few. That collectivist ideology has been pushed by the Left for a long
time. How I wish I could tell President Trump to put on the brakes in
supporting policies in the heat of grief and emotion. It remains to be seen
whether his recent speech will yield fundamental policy changes but I for one,
hope not. Not only do sweeping, federal laws do little to address the complex
issues in this growing problem but the only people who stand to lose are
law-abiding citizens. [more...]
Baltimore's 30,000 Public Employees Cost Taxpayers $2 Billion
But Can't Save Their Own City
By Adam Andrzejewski, Author of Operation Drain the Swamp
Our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com investigated just how much
taxpayer money flows into the Baltimore bureaucracy at every level: federal,
state, and local. We found the city drowning in taxpayer dollars. Our audit
shows that $1.1 billion in grants and direct payments (subsidies and
assistance) flowed into Baltimore city agencies and other city-based entities
including non-profit organizations, corporations, and colleges during the last
four years (FY2015-FY2018). That’s the equivalent of nearly $7,000 in federal
aid per family of four living in Baltimore during this period. [more...]
Judge Delivers a Big Victory for Affordable Health Care
By Sally Pipes, President & CEO of the Pacific
Research Institute
Just over two weeks ago, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon upheld
a Trump administration rule that expands access to short-term, limited duration
health plans. The ruling represents a major victory for those in need of
affordable health coverage. But the plaintiffs are appealing the ruling. And
many states have already implemented rules restricting, if not banning
outright, short-term plans. They're more interested in protecting Obamacare
than in ensuring that consumers have access to affordable health coverage. [more...]
Mass Shootings are Not a "White Man's" Problem
By Daniel Greenfield
Around the same time that the media was focused on the mass
shootings in El Paso and Dayton, 60 people were shot in Chicago over the
weekend. 24 of those people were shot in four hours. Baltimore reached its 200th
murder victim of the year during its “Ceasefire Weekend." 4 people were killed
in 4 days in Kansas City. 6 men were shot in Philly during the filming of a rap
video. This tide of violence has received less media coverage because it
challenges the false claim that, as a CNN op-ed once put it, mass shootings are
a “white man’s problem.” "I would say our country should be more fearful
of white men across our country because they are actually causing most of the
deaths within this country," Rep. Ilhan Omar claimed on Al Jazeera.
"We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat
in this country is white men," Don Lemon had previously claimed on CNN. [more...]
Shooting Stars
By Lowell Ponte
A madman pens a manifesto, travels to El Paso, with a rifle
murders at least 20 and wounds many others at a shopping mall, then surrenders,
apparently intending to become a famous martyr, a shooting star. Will we
let this madman – and the politicians eager to exploit what he did – kill
America’s future as a free nation? History sometimes turns on singular events.
We need a careful, prayerful national perspective on which events should change
history. [more...]
The Agenda-Laden Reboot of "Party of
Five"
By James Hirsen
That Hollywood would be walking hand-in-hand with the Democratic
Party in an effort to shape the mindset of the culture-at-large is nothing new.
However, the idea that entertainment products would have morphed into
super-sized mallets that would then be used to hammer left-wing agendas into
folks’ heads is. The routine insertion into entertainment content by Hollywood
of “woke” themes and characters is clearly illustrated in a highly altered
supposed reboot of a previous 1990’s television show, “Party of Five.” [more...]
