10 Things the Left is Imposing on Us That Must Be Stopped in 2022

William F. Buckley, Jr. famously said that “A conservative is someone who stands athwart history, yelling ‘Stop,’ at a time when no one is inclined to do so, or to have much patience with those who so urge it.”

As America wishes 2021 good riddance, 2022 brings hope of new leaders who will slam the brakes on the failed socialist Biden agenda. Reversing the damage and advancing conservatism requires a Republican president in 2024. For now, stopping the left is the objective. Attacks on multiple fronts must be defended by every flank.

Here are the top ten things the left is imposing on us that must be stopped:

Vaccine and mask mandates must end. The evidence is overwhelming that lockdowns and mandates failed. Forcing masks and Covid vaccines on children is science’s polar opposite. Bullying people into losing their jobs is anti-science and anti-American. Using Covid as a cudgel to suppress God-given freedoms compounds Covid’s cruelty. Florida successfully combatted Covid while maintaining individual freedoms. New York and California regulated citizens to death as Covid deaths increased. Covid power grabs and subjugation of Americans must cease.

Obamacare must be repealed. Republican promises to repeal the Affordable Care Act have gone unfulfilled since 2010. While the ACA is a shell of its original iteration, it can be reincarnated unless it is permanently eliminated. While it requires conservative Republicans controlling all three government branches to remove Obamacare, they should restart the conversation immediately. A return to free-market healthcare centered around individual choices is a great start. 

The Paris Climate Agreement must be permanently shelved. Voters consistently rank climate change among their lowest priorities. Republicans paid zero political price for climate inaction. Conservatives must permanently eliminate the issue by showing how climate change action is destructive. Conservatives must connect the dots between proposed climate legislation and losses of American jobs and freedoms.

Our emasculated military leaders must man up. Republicans must directly link obsessive "wokeness" with the Biden administration’s failed Afghanistan withdrawal. Rush Limbaugh understood that our military’s purpose is to “kill people and break things.” The 1990s' hollowing of our military led to the September 11, 2001 attacks. Our enemies are plotting even deadlier attacks. Islamism remains a threat. Conservatives must show how leftist military policies threaten America’s safety.

The border wall must be built immediately. Leftists racialize immigration. Conservatives must center the debate around life and death. Fentanyl deaths are exploding. Drugs destroy families of all ethnicities. An open border means drug, sex, and child trafficking. While Democrats shrug, Republicans care whether women and children live or die. “Build the wall, save innocent lives” is powerful.

Critical race theory must be crushed. CRT gives Republicans the best chance in decades to win on education, usually a Democrat bulwark. Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin showed how Republicans can win on education. Parents of all stripes loathe CRT’s pernicious agenda. Democrats vacillate between falsely denying CRT’s existence in public schools and insisting CRT is misunderstood. 

Criminal mobs must face a law-and-order crackdown. Democrats are again divided between those denying the crime problem and those conceding spikes but blaming Covid. Americans know lawlessness when they see it. No Covid variant causes violent rioting. Restoring safety is good policy and smart politics. Conservatives must emphasize refunding the police and private gun ownership for self-defense. By attacking Kyle Rittenhouse and ignoring Darrell Brooks, Democrats are anti-safety and pro-GOP solutions. 

Censor censors, not citizens.  America was founded on freedom of speech. Bipartisan anger at Big Tech gives conservatives an opening. Reining in Big Tech appeals to millions of Americans who see Big Tech’s harm on society, particularly children. Censorship is unamerican, and conservatives must continue to hammer the issue against pro-censorship leftists. 

Ban transgender men competing in women’s sports. This issue also pits two natural Democrat constituencies against each other. LGBTQ advocates successfully won separate bathrooms and preferred pronouns. Yet their ardent feminist supporters drew the line at athletics. Women’s sports are being destroyed, with young girls suffering the brunt of the pain. Republicans can become the party of women by protecting women’s sports from permanent eradication. Even liberal feminists have concluded that transgender men are not women.

Inflation must be restrained. This is a slam dunk winner. Skyrocketing gas and food prices are a tax on working families. Democrats are the party of tax hikes. Republicans exist to cut taxes. Trump cut taxes. Biden raised taxes through inflation. If elected, GOP task one is to cut taxes by curbing inflation.

To stop this Biden barrage of “liberal lunacy," we must stay vigilantly awake, viscerally aware, and most importantly... unapologetic.
