How Colombia Proved That Tariffs Work
By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition
for a Prosperous America
Gustavo Petro, a former teenage Marxist revolutionary who
became Colombia's president in 2022, just got beat by the BOSS: President
Donald J. Trump. And he got beat because Trump's tariff threats, a cornerstone
of his America First policy platform, worked. The story began when Petro
refused to repatriate Colombian aliens who have committed crimes in the U.S.
and had been released by Democrat district attorneys and blue city police
departments. Upon learning about Colombia's refusal to take their own criminals
back, Trump posted to social media that he was imposing an immediate 25 percent
tariff on Colombia, along with assorted other sanctions - whereupon Petro
backed down not 47 minutes later, promising to send his own plane to Washington
to pick up the migrants. What's next? Mexico building the wall? Don't discount
it! Mexico and Canada are facing similar threats of tariffs which might go
into effect this weekend. The weekend kerfuffle proved how effective
tariffs can be. [more...]
Government Price Controls Won’t Help Residents in California
Recover From LA Fires
By John Lott,
Worldwide Expert on Guns & Crime
With prices of hotels and short-term rentals soaring in Southern
California due to the recent devastating wildfires, "price-gouging” has
once again become a buzzword. With inflation already one of
Americans’ greatest concerns, it is a message many people will be primed
to hear. Now, California Attorney General Rob Bonta is threatening to
prosecute businesses that raise prices “by more than 10 percent above the price
before an emergency declaration.” California Gov. Gavin Newsom also declared
a state of emergency that triggered various provisions of
California’s anti-price-gouging law. [more...]
In One Social Media Posting, President Trump "Trudeaus"
The President of Colombia
By Colonel (Ret.) John Mills,
Author of War Against the Deep State
Leftist (really Maoist/Communist) Colombian President Gustavo
Petro has learned a very hard lesson and made a fool of himself for accepting
repatriation flights, then trying to cancel them with a loud and obnoxious rant
and then caved like a lawn chair within an hour of a social media posting by
President Trump. Things are not looking good for Petro in his own country. [more...]
Sanctuary Cities Were Always Anti-American
By Daniel Greenfield, Author of Domestic Enemies
The real origins of our open borders nightmare
New York City, Chicago and Boston are among the sanctuary cities
collapsing after waves of migrants stormed across the open borders. Even cities
that once boasted of providing sanctuary to illegal aliens from federal
immigration enforcement are now running away from the name. Sanctuary cities
were always intended to be destructive. They were not, as many Democrats now
wrongly claim, about providing safe harbor to refugees, but about bringing down
America. The sanctuary cities did not emerge in response to the Holocaust, the
Rwandan genocide or any actual genocide, but to provide support and sanctuary
for Marxists fleeing the civil wars they had started in Latin America, and then
later for Islamic terrorists after September 11. [more...]
Progressive Arrogance, Failures Set California Ablaze
By Judd Dunning, Talk Show Host,
Bestselling Author
Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif. epitomizes everything wrong with
progressive governance. The man who has held the reins of power for years
somehow believes the crisis is everyone else’s fault. Seemingly
ever the opportunist, Gavin is a master of distraction. Why address
California’s crumbling infrastructure, failed energy policies and regulatory
overreach when you can point fingers instead? California’s wildfires are not a
freak accident. They are a predictable result of decades of progressive
mismanagement, pseudo-green virtue signaling, and bureaucratic red tape and
Gavn's California has become the shining jewel of progressive failure. [more...]
Trump Has the Attention of China, Mexico & Canada on
Fentanyl
By Dr. Robert Marbut, Producer of Fentanyl
Death Incorporated
Because of the mass deportations, fentanyl deaths are
decreasing. We know that the deadly fentanyl crisis in America originates out
of China and passes through Mexico and Canada. President Trump has done more in
one week than the Biden-Harris administration did in four years to address the
fentanyl scourge. He now has the attention of China, Mexico, and Canada; Mexico
and Canada have already had historic fentanyl drug busts in the last 40 days
after their leaders talked to President Trump. Hopefully, we’ll get improvement
out of China, too. I am the producer of the new film, “Fentanyl: Death
Incorporated,” now streaming at Salem NOW. To find out more
about the film, go to fentanyldeathincorporated.com. [more...]
Trump Effect Spreads from Colombia to California and All Places in
Between
By Cheryl Chumley, Author of God-Given or Bust
On Friday, President Trump sent a couple of planes filled with
illegals from America back to their home country of Colombia. On Sunday
morning, Trump learned that Colombian President Gustavo Petro turned away
the planes and refused to allow them to land. Trump responded by vowing tariffs
on all Colombian goods coming into the United States. By Sunday afternoon,
Colombia’s president was welcoming the planes filled with migrants back to his
country, a la open arms. Bang. Bam. Voila. That’s the Trump Effect. [more...]
The Question of Birthright Citizenship
By James
Hirsen, NY Times Bestselling Author, International Business
Attorney, News Analyst & Cultural Commentator
In my legal assessment, by issuing the executive order on
birthright citizenship, President Trump is prompting the courts to clarify and
rule on the language, meaning, and substance of what the law actually states. For
quite a long time, government institutions have allowed policies to be
implemented apart from the law, policies that deem all persons born in
the U.S. to illegal alien parents are citizens. However, the United States
Constitution does not necessitate this policy. In fact, there is nothing in
either the Constitution or in any federal statute that grants birthright
citizenship to a child born in the U.S. to illegal alien parents. What appears
to be a complex issue actually isn’t. A look back at constitutional history
provides quite a bit of insight and may help to clarify things. [more...]
