Egyptians Erupt
Against Obama's Favorite Islamist Regime
By
Joseph
Klein
During
Sunday's "60 Minutes" joint interview with President Barack Obama and
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Obama boasted that "You know, when it
comes to Egypt, I think, had it not been for the leadership we showed, you
might have seen a different outcome there." It’s hard to disagree with the
president. His administration contributed to the turmoil now gripping Egypt and
leading to what some observers on the ground there have characterized as "a
complete state of collapse," to quote Al Jazeera. Under Obama’s
self-described "leadership," his administration promulgated the false
image of the Muslim Brotherhood as "moderate Islamists" (an oxymoron
if there ever was one). [more...]
The Jeb Bush Illegal
Drug and Liquor Distributorship at Andover
In
2006 at my 30th Harvard Reunion, during a casual conversation one evening, a
classmate told me about his years at Andover. Out of the blue he told me this
story: Jeb Bush and one other fellow student back then ran an illegal drug and
liquor distributorship on the Andover campus. When the heat started coming
down, Bush ratted out the partner to the school authorities and saved his own
skin. Jeb got away with it, was never caught, never punished, graduated
unscathed and went on to the University of Texas at Austin. To this day no one
outside the Andover community knows about this illegal activity. The media is
apparently unaware of it. Through three statewide campaigns for governor of
Florida, it never came up. [more...]
Socialists Hope for Renewed
Links between Occupy and Unions

Teachers
unions were active behind the scenes of the Occupy Wall Street protests. New
York City’s United Federation of Teachers provided storage space. The Chicago
Teachers Union was "front and center" with Occupy Chicago. Now
socialists hope the potential east coast dock workers strike will strengthen
the bond between radical Occupy activists and Big Labor. [more...]
Obama's Recess
Appointments
By
Dave Bego
Last Friday’s opinion by the D.C. Circuit Court of
Appeals was a profound blow to Big Labor’s aspirations to achieve card check
through use of regulatory action, especially after the re-election of President
Obama and recent decisions by the pro-labor NLRB to extend Big Labor’s
political money pump. Card Check, Big Labor’s most coveted prize, is their only
true means to survive and avoid extinction. Big Labor not only needs favorable
NLRB decisions to allow Card Check-type benefits through ruthless corporate
campaigns, but it also needs unfettered use of membership dues to influence
politicians and maintain its grip on public sector employees while it rebuilds
its membership in the private sector. The President, through recess
appointments of radical members, was determined to pay back his Big Labor
buddies for their major role in his re-election. The recess-appointed NLRB
members have been intent on carrying out this mission. [more...]
Can Sarah Palin
Reboot and Mount a Comeback?
By
Steve
Gill
It will be difficult if not impossible. IF - and
that depends on whether or not she could win in Alaska at this point - Palin
ran for and was elected to the Senate from Alaska, she could re-emerge as a
political player. But she traded in her reformer brand for "reality
show" fame and fortune... and others would do well to learn from her
missteps. [more...]
