President Obama has nominated former Senator and Vietnam War veteran Chuck Hagel to replace Leon Panetta as Secretary of Defense, and John Brennan to serve as director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Although Brennan’s Senate confirmation may meet less resistance, Hagel’s nomination is sure to spark a fierce confirmation battle in the Senate - a battle that would be completely warranted. Hagel, after all, has espoused a deep kinship with the radical anti-war Left, advocated reckless foreign policy positions such as direct talks with terrorists and their leading sponsor, Iran, and demonstrated a nasty hostility to Israel and to Jews in general. To have this kind of individual serving as the head of the U.S. Defense Department is to severely jeopardize the security interests of the U.S., our ally Israel and the rest of the free world. Who is "The Devil at Our Doorstep?"

Often during talk radio interviews I am asked, "Who is 'The Devil at Our Doorstep'? Is it the SEIU?" This question provides the opportunity to explain that the "devil" in my book, The Devil at Our Doorstep, is actually a coalition of groups from the liberal left. This includes George Soros and his Media Matters group, liberal Democrats, remnants of ACORN, environmentalists, gun control advocates, and, of course, Big Labor’s "gasping dinosaurs." CAIR to Media: 'Stop Using the Term Islamist'

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), identified by the U.S. government as an entity of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, is suggesting a New Year’s resolution for the media: Stop using the term “Islamist.” CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper, who expressed his desire for “the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future” in 1993 and, again, in 2003, writes that the media shouldn’t say “Islamist” anymore because it is "currently used in almost exclusively pejorative context." Wisconsin’s School Choice Programs Big Hit with Students, Parents

While parent and student satisfaction are the most important measuring sticks, researchers have also given a big thumbs up to Milwaukee’s school choice program. A five-year study conducted by the University of Arkansas found that 94 percent of students who used the voucher program during all four years of high school graduated on time compared with 75 percent of students who remained in Milwaukee Public Schools.
