Aggressive Trump Trade
Strategy Begins to Emerge
By
Jeff
Ferry
Two
developments in recent days provide an early indication that the Trump
Administration is determined to take a new approach to international
trade. And it looks like this new approach is aggressively focused
on trade agreement reform and policies that could lead to higher U.S economic
growth. First, was last weekend’s meeting of the Group of 20 (G-20) nations
finance ministers in Baden-Baden, Germany. The finance ministers agreed on a
“communiqué” to form the basis for the July meeting of G-20 heads of state.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin was the “new kid in school” at the
meeting as most of the other finance ministers have attended many previous such
get-togethers. But instead of standing shyly at the back of the room, Mnuchin
demanded that a phrase about “resisting protectionism” be removed from the
communiqué. That’s significant because it shows that the Administration is
determined to fight its corner in international forums. It’s also significant
because Mnuchin, a Goldman, Sachs veteran, had not said much about trade
policies before last weekend. Mnuchin has now made it clear he is supporting
President Trump’s desire for a new aggressive trade policy. [more...]
Trump’s
Executive Order on Trade Deficits is a Step Towards Action
While
the trade deficit deniers continue issuing Fake Trade News, President Trump
signed a recent executive order entitled “Omnibus Report on Significant Trade
Deficits.” This is an important step towards action. The resulting document trade deficits and
their causes in the context of harm to U.S. workers as well as the productive
capacity of the U.S. Trump’s executive order directs the Secretary of the
Commerce, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and other agencies to prepare
the Omnibus Trade Deficit report in 90 days. [more...]
Can
Secession Succeed?
By
Lowell Ponte
On March 29 the UK began its official exit from the
European Union (EU), an emerging empire that has been erasing the sovereignty
and identity of 28 member nations. President Trump praised the British and
urged more nations to leave the EU. “Brexit isn’t the end,” said a furious
Jean-Claude Juncker, head of the European Commission and EU boss. “If [Mr.
Trump] goes on like that, I am going to promote the independence of Ohio and
Austin, Texas in the U.S.” In rare agreement over secession, Brexit leader
Nigel Farage now supports the independence of part of California, at least from
Los Angeles and Hollywood north to the San Francisco Bay. Farage would let the
more conservative parts of California – its eastern counties plus Orange County
and the state’s second largest city San Diego – remain in the U.S. [more...]
Scarlett Johansson Film
Ensnared in “Whitewashing” Controversy
By

“Whitewashing”
is the term currently used to describe the Hollywood practice of casting white
actors in non-white character roles. It is being used in a severe critique of
actress Scarlett Johansson and the film in which she appears, “Ghost in the
Shell,” which opened this past weekend. The Media Action Network for Asian
Americans (MANAA), a group that monitors the depiction and coverage of Asian
Americans in the media, issued a statement condemning the casting of Johansson
in the new movie. The group’s statement accuses the film of whitewashing the
character of Motoku Kusanagi, a role that Johansson plays in the film derived
from a Japanese graphic novel of the same name as the movie’s title. MANAA made
it a point to pick apart Johansson’s recent interview on “Good Morning America”
(GMA), an appearance in which the actress stated that she “would never attempt
to play a person of a different race, obviously.” MANAA responded with some
strong words, writing that “she [Johansson] was lying.” [more...]
Left’s Power to Attack
Trump is About to Collapse
While
the Left’s power to attack and block President Trump might seem formidable at
the moment, look closer and you will see that it’s about to collapse. In fact,
later this year, you can expect the Left’s power to shrivel up to a more
typical level of opposition seen during other administrations. You probably
will ask: Why will the Left’s power collapse? The truth is President Trump won
the election fairly in the Electoral College. And it’s within the realm of
possibility that Trump also won the popular vote because there might have been
millions of votes cast for Clinton that were questionable. [more...]
Dems Chasing the Lie

I’ve
been chasing the minute-by-minute propaganda machine and their minions in the
Democrat Party. The fake news mill machine has been putting out fake titles
faster than a BushMaster AR-15 can empty a 30-round magazine of .223’s. Now
they want to pound home that the Russians influenced the election and that the
Trump team colluded with them. However, those same 17 intelligence agencies
that the Dems say have information on the Russian involvement also say there is
NO connection between the Trump team and the Russians (they don’t want to hear
it). Influence? You mean because they may have (not proven they did) hacked the
DNC server and released e-mails showing how Dems really feel about Jews and
blacks and how they burned Bernie? Because those 17 agencies say there was no
tampering with any voting equipment, that means the Russians didn’t steal
votes. The hack just let Democrat voters see the real truth about how their
Party sees them. [more...]
