An American Tax System
Makeover
After
years of rising tax rates and intensifying frustration among individuals and
corporations, it appears the American tax system is finally getting the
makeover it needs. President Trump unveiled a tax plan which, at its core, will
grow America’s economy. By slashing corporate and individual tax rates, this
plan will encourage more business to be done in our great country and result in
more money in all our pockets. Under the current tax system, corporations are
taxed at some of the highest rates in the world. This has discouraged them from
reporting profits in America; and as a result, $2 trillion have been stashed
abroad. In the new plan, both by decreasing the effective corporate tax rate
and by applying a one-time amnesty tax rate for collecting offshore profits,
corporations will begin doing business again in America. [more...]
Seven Reasons Why
Ending NAFTA Would Not Cause Armageddon
The
media was aghast last week that some Trump administration personnel had drafted
a proposal to withdraw from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) as
well as a proposal to renegotiate it. Later it was reported that the White
House was not going to advance the proposal to end NAFTA, after powerful
business interests called in to object. If a “withdraw from NAFTA” proposal

withdrawal is off the table now, U.S. negotiators should have the power to walk
away from negotiations if they truly want a strong negotiating position. While
CPA does not take either an “end NAFTA” or “save NAFTA” position, here are some
reasons why NAFTA withdrawal would not cause Armageddon... [more...]
North Korean’s
Relationship with Iran
By
Joseph
Klein
There
is one facet of the North Korean problem that has hardly received any mention.
That is reports of North Korea’s continuing collaborative relationship with
Iran, enabling both countries’ nuclear programs to advance. According to two Israeli experts whom have
studied the matter, “Iran is circumventing the restrictions on its nuclear
program under the nuclear agreement with the P5+1 countries by collaborating
with North Korea on missile development and modifying missiles for nuclear
weapons.” They believe that a “strategic, military-technological collaboration”
between the two countries is likely underway right now. With one rogue
nuclear armed state that has already been threatening nuclear war working with
a wannabe nuclear armed state that is the world’s leading state sponsor of
terrorism, the risk to U.S. and international security is multiplied
exponentially unless steps can be taken to stop the collaboration in its
tracks. [more...]
Trump Ends Michelle
Obama’s Policy of Starving Students
School
lunches are no longer a depressing mass of unidentifiable and inedible paste
that provides all the nutritional content needed by the average mouse. That's
right. The Michelle Obama school lunch menu is headed into the wrong side of history. Yes, Michelle Obama had a dream -
a humble dream - to starve children, to make students miserable. And Trump is
depriving her of that dream. He and Ag
Secretary Perdue moved to Make School Meals Great Again. [more...]
