The Big Beautiful Bill Passes

By Todd Sheets, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson achieved a milestone accomplishment with the passage of legislation that will preserve the tax cuts from Trump 1.0. The Senate will now take up the bill, with a goal of delivering a final version for Trump’s signature this summer. Combined with the preliminary Geneva agreement on Chinese tariffs and his successful trip to the Middle East, this announcement helps build momentum for the Trump agenda of reinvigorating growth through reduced taxes, deregulation, trade, energy independence, and efficiency. The recent increase in Treasury bond yields reflects the fact that there is still important work to do on the spending side of the equation, but the best chance to work our way out of our serious financial problems is through economic growth, and avoiding a draconian tax increase is critical in this regard. China Solar, Once Biggest Beneficiary of Inflation Reduction Act, No Longer Qualifies

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

Under the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” as passed by the House, Chinese solar companies will no longer qualify for renewable energy tax benefits under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022. Congress previously had barred benefits under the CHIPS Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (BIL) from flowing to so-called "foreign entities of concern" (FEOCs), defined as the governments of the "countries of concern" being China, Russian, North Korea, and Iran, and companies with defined relationships with those governments. [more...]

Bitcoin Nears $107K – But This May Not Be the Top

By Kerry Lutz, Host of Financial Survival Network

As Bitcoin approaches record highs, investors are asking the same question they asked in 2017 and 2021: Is this another top? I called both of those previous peaks - not with hype, but with the help of Martin Armstrong's Economic Confidence Model, which has guided my market timing for over a decade. But as I am preparing to attend the upcoming Bitcoin conference in Las Vegas, I'm not sounding the alarm. This time, the signals are different. Let's explore why... [more...]

Is Harvard Still Committed to Veritas?

By Greg Rabidoux, Award-Winning Filmmaker, Author & Cultural Commentator

As Harvard students and faculty defend their school against Trump's efforts to eliminate antisemitism on its hallowed campus, one truth is inescapable -they brought it upon themselves. For curiosity, learning, and growth to occur, these campuses must be free of intimidation, coercion, retaliation, and of course, violence of any kind. And Harvard has been one of the biggest violators of betraying this sacred trust in learning for decades now. Along with Columbia University, both have had its hand out for so long, saying yes to every wealthy extremist, radicalistic, anti-American donor there is, they forgot that it's okay to say no and stay true to your core mission and why you got a tax-exempt status in the first place... which is a privilege not a right, by the way. Harvard and its faculty got into the business of training radicalized activists because it seems that's who was paying the bill. [more...]

America Props Up An Al Qaeda Terror State

By Daniel Greenfield, Author of Domestic Enemies

How is supporting terrorists - who rule Syria and threaten Christians - in our national interest?

Democrats and Republicans got played by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Turkey and other Islamic states into embracing the Arab Spring. Now we're being roped into supporting Jhadis taking over Syria all over again. And then where to next? Libya? Gaza? America? [more...]

End of Ukraine War Would Be a Chance to Resolve Long-Deferred Strategic Matters Between United States, Europe and Canada

Crime Rates of Illegal Immigrants Underreported

By John Lott, Worldwide Expert on Guns & Crime

Democrats actively oppose the Trump administration's efforts to arrest and deport illegal immigrants, despite the administration's focus on those with criminal histories. To support their opposition, Democrats frequently claim, almost as an article of faith, that illegal immigrants are less prone to commit crime. "The crime rate among immigrants is far lower than the crime rate among native-born Americans," New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler asserted confidently. The media's relentless narrative that illegal immigrants don't commit crimes has shaped Americans' perceptions. And these numbers, as bad as they are, likely undercount the number of criminal illegals. Even if some believe undocumented immigrants commit crimes at lower rates, ignoring ICE detainers for convicted undocumented immigrants to prevent their deportation raises doubts about whether they really care about the criminal rate of these illegal immigrants. [more...]

Comey's Stumble on the Beach

By James Hirsen, NY Times Bestselling Author, International Business Attorney, News Analyst & Cultural Commentator

Former FBI Director James Comey recently posted a photo of seashells on the sand that had been arranged to form the following pair of numbers: 86 47. Perhaps surprisingly for Comey, the seriousness of his wholly ill-advised post appears to be increasing with the passage of time. This is because the individual with whom the second seashell number is associated was saved by God's grace from two attempts of the first seashell number's kind. A political viewpoint? FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino sees it very differently: he said that the numeric symbolism was being used by copycats to send out threats that the FBI is mandated to investigate, which requires valuable time and resources. "We are now dealing with copycats, sending cryptic threats to public figures, using the '86' reference," Bongino wrote. [more...]

The recent increase in Treasury bond yields reflects the fact that there is still important work to do on the spending side of the equation, but the best chance to work our way out of our serious financial problems is through economic growth, and avoiding a draconian tax increase is critical in this regard.

The underlying cause of the long-delayed ratings downgrade announced by Moody’s this week was the enormous expansion in debt that resulted from the Obama administration’s failed attempt to spend our way out of the Great Financial Crisis. Deficits averaged 7.5% of GDP during the first five years under Obama and, by the time he left office, the federal debt had ballooned from a very manageable 39% of GDP to a dangerously high 76%. This is why Standard Poor’s reduced their ratings back in 2011.  Furthermore, the post-Obama debt left little room for the emergency borrowing later needed to address the COVID shutdown. These problems were only magnified when the Biden administration then pushed "non-emergency" post-COVID spending up to 23.5% of GDP.

And what do we have to show for all of this spending? - Chronic peacetime deficits, dangerous debt, a bout of the worst inflation since the 1970s, and anemic growth; all of which is why America re-elected President. Trump. Obviously, there is much work left here, and my hope is that in addition to reigniting growth, the administration and Congress will also turn their attention to reigning in spending. Nevertheless, passage of the Big Beautiful Bill is an important and critical step in unleashing the American economy’s unmatched potential to deliver upward mobility, peace through strength, and to ensure the viability of our social welfare commitments.

UK and China Tariff Agreements Might be The First and the Last

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

This month's tariff agreements with the United Kingdom and China might end up being the first deal of its kind, and the last. Last Friday, President Trump reiterated that the administration could not possibly strike deals with every country, and that tariff announcements would be made over the next two to three weeks. Some other countries may slip in there within that timeframe with a deal – most likely India, Japan and/or South Korea. But others will see their tariff rates range between the 10% baseline tariff up to as high as 50%, Trump said in a press conference during the UK deal. [more...]

With Sovereign Wealth Fund, Trump Seeks to Strengthen Nation

By Scott Powell, Author of Rediscovering America

There is no greater betrayal by the U.S. government than failing to protect the safety and security of the American people. But this, in fact, was the case prior to Trump, because Washington abdicated its responsibility to protect and develop all-important rare earth elements that are critically necessary in the production of high-tech military weapons systems, like F-16, F-22 and F-35 jet fighters, drones, and AI-driven systems. Rather, the U.S. has become dependent on China. In fact, the U.S. government admits that we rely on China for 100% of 20 key minerals and rare earth elements that are required by our high-tech defense systems. Such incompetence at the federal level borders on treason. [more...]

Tariff Update

By Todd Sheets, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

Who knew that something as seemingly mundane as trade and tariffs could result in an unfolding drama led by characters and events of nearly Shakespearean proportions? While there is still a long way to go, Trump and Bessent both deserve a great deal of credit for orchestrating what has the potential to continue the de-coupling with China that began in Trump's first term. My hope is that the tariff negotiations will lead to something of a two-tiered playing field. On one tier, trade policy will be used to isolate consistently hostile and threatening regimes (China, Russia, Iran and North Korea). On another tier, we will level remaining imbalances with our allies and then establish a "free-er" trade zone that promotes upward mobility, enhanced security through rising economic resources, and an incentive for hostile regimes to end their aggressions and join the prosperity. Trump's Qatari 747 - Gift, Fortress, or Political Trap?

By Kerry Lutz, Host of Financial Survival Network

During Trump's visit to the Middle East, Qatar offered him a gleaming Boeing 747-8, formerly part of their royal VIP fleet. The jet, which looks more like a flying palace than a commercial aircraft, was framed by Qatari officials as a goodwill gesture - a symbol of allegiance, respect, and partnership. To the mainstream media it's an "Emoluments Clause violation" and an outrage. The irony is rich: Before Trump's first presidency, the average pundit on the left couldn't even pronounce the word "emoluments," much less cite it. Now, they've turned it into the hill to die on - claiming that the gift, despite being intended for U.S. government use, somehow crosses a constitutional line. [more...]

Biden's Secrets

By Greg Rabidoux, Award-Winning Filmmaker, Author & Cultural Commentator

There is a simple, clear, and inescapable conclusion after hearing the news yesterday about the discovery of Joe Biden's prostate cancer - apparently, a very aggressive and advanced stage of cancer. Someone knew. Because if the White House physician did not know, then serious questions need to be posed and answered about the competency of President Biden's White House entire staff of doctors. This isn't some unfortunate homeless guy with no access to healthcare, let alone, supposedly, the best in the world. Depending on what the answers are, if we get any, then the next level of inquiry needs to be focused on the depth of dishonesty that was also allowed to metastasize throughout the White House under Biden. What's the alternative? That his doctors knew and simply looked the other way, knowing Biden wanted to finish out his first term, and even run for a second term? This needs to end - for the health of the body politic. [more...]

No, Hamas Has Not Been Destroyed

By Daniel Greenfield, Author of Domestic Enemies

Hamas is the Brotherhood and they're still here.

Lately there's been a clamor of voices calling for an end to the fighting in Gaza, and I mean beyond the usual theatrics from the anti-Israel crowd. Pro-Israel people have claimed that Hamas is destroyed because most of its leaders are gone. Yes, most of the top Hamas leaders inside Israel are dead. The terror group has suffered serious battlefield casualties. But it is by no stretch of the imagination destroyed. The thing to remember is that Hamas is just the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza. Unlike Al Qaeda or ISIS, the core of Hamas consists not just of armed terrorists, but the Brotherhood itself. And the Brotherhood/Hamas is still running Gaza. [more...]

High Time for an American Pope

By Lord Conrad Black, Author of The Political and Strategic History of the World, Vol II

There are two principal takeaways from the election last week of Pope Leo XIV, one reflecting on the condition of the Roman Catholic Church, the other that the new Pope is an American, albeit one who has spent much of his career in Latin America. Despite centuries of effort by millions of people to portray the Roman Catholic Church as a superstitious anachronism, it endures. This is the first pope whose native language is English since Adrian IV (Nicholas Breakspear), who died in 1159. English is the most widely spoken language in the world and although that singular self-nominated "defender of the faith" Henry VIII of England caused the English-speaking peoples to be more heavily influenced by the Reformation, and not necessarily its best aspects, than the other great western cultures, it is high time that there was an English-speaking pope. Trump Can Do the Impossible - Simultaneously Strengthen America's Financials and Its National Security

By Scott Powell, Author of Rediscovering America

The implications of President Trump's Executive Order "A Plan for Establishing a United States Sovereign Wealth Fund," are revolutionary. What is likely to be unveiled soon is a masterful plan that will add tremendous wealth to the asset side of the U.S fiscal ledger. In fact, it will strengthen the U.S. balance sheet, adding the value of enormous previously undeclared natural resource assets to offset the $36+ trillion in national debt liability. And it will strengthen U.S. defensive capabilities and war deterrence by restoring the posture of being able to sustainably project unquestioned superior U.S. military power. [more...]

India's Zero-for-Zero Reciprocal Tariff Offer Must be a Non-Starter

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

Trump said he has dozens of trade talks going on. India says it's ready to go to zero tariffs on key items like car parts and steel. Here is why this is a non-starter. Tariff reciprocity was always a terrible idea. India, home to 607 million workers making around $550 per month in mid-level manufacturing jobs, would happily replace American steel workers and high-paid pharmaceutical lab workers in a zero-for-zero trade deal. A top paid laboratory technician in India makes about $35,000 a year. That’s a small fortune in India. The U.S. is mainly reliant on India for generic drugs today. Their labs lead in FDA recalls and are often subject to Warning Letters and import bans, which are rare largely due to the fact that the FDA does not want to risk supply. The U.S. must not sacrifice the chance to rebuild industrial capacity in exchange for another empty trade promise to import more American goods, as if these promises will actually materialize. [more...]

The Democrats Just Can't Stop Pushing Nonsensical Assault Weapon Bans

By John Lott, Worldwide Expert on Guns & Crime

Democrats just can't let go of their push for an assault weapons ban. Meanwhile, Americans are waiting for the Supreme Court to intervene. Thirteen times the court has relisted the Snope v. Brown case, which addresses Maryland's ban on semi-automatic rifles and large-capacity magazines. It seems increasingly likely the court will hear the case next year, and the decisions in Heller and Bruen make it clear that these bans are unconstitutional. These laws ban guns "in common use," and no comparable historical analog exists for these bans. [more...]

Trump of Arabia?

By Greg Rabidoux, Award-Winning Filmmaker, Author & Cultural Commentator

Movies and certainly the world have changed a lot since Lawrence of Arabia swept the Academy Awards. In the film, T.E. Lawrence (played by the brilliant Peter O'Toole) ditches his western suits for Arab robes. This infuriates the British who sent him there to just observe the Arab uprising against the Turks. Of course, Trump never goes anywhere just to observe. And, as for traditional grab, he wore his own traditional blue suit and red tie, in a sea of Arab robes and tunics. And this, as well as his giving an olive branch to the Syrians, further cementing U.S.-Saudi economic and political destinies, and saying yes to that new jet infuriates the Left. Trump lives by his own "Pillars of Wisdom": commerce not chaos, peace through strength, and prosperity through partnerships. Leave the dramatic and deathly desert uprisings to the movies. In real life, that's just bad for business. [more...]

Trump, Zelensky & the Great Global Reset

By Todd Sheets, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

Trump's one-on-one with Zelensky in the Vatican in late April, commentary from both the left and the right seemed to center around two key criticisms: 1) The administration is repeating Chamberlain's mistake with Hitler and Nazi Germany by seeking to appease Russian president Putin, and 2) Trump's actions are destroying the "special" relationship with Europe that helped win World Wars I and II and the Cold War. All of this has exposed a Great Global Reset, a necessary change in America's role as the world's policeman. The following are three key areas that will help us understand how we arrived at this historic moment. First, we'll review what I've called the Aggressor/Defender Ratio, a key measure of relative geopolitical strength. Second, we'll explore the evolution of our relationship with Europe; and third, we'll discuss America's changing role. [more...]

Trump's Tactics are Working

By Lord Conrad Black, Author of The Political and Strategic History of the World, Vol II

It may not have been well-publicized in Europe, but the combination of the sudden temporary resolution and de-escalation of the tariff imbroglio between the United States and China has gone a considerable distance to legitimizing the apparently brusque method of President Trump's policy to eliminate the completely unjustifiable and ultimately unsustainable U.S. trade imbalance of $1.2 trillion. The Trump Ultimatum - China’s Last Trade Deal

By Kerry Lutz, Host of Financial Survival Network

The AP calls it a "promising tariff reduction deal." CNN calls it "a cooling of tensions." I call it what it is: a 90-day white-flag window before China gets crushed. Forget the polite headlines. This deal isn't about soybeans - it’s about sovereignty. This isn't a trade agreement - it's an ultimatum. And if Xi Jinping doesn't play it right, he won't just lose Taiwan or the West. He might lose everything - including his grip on power. Let's go behind the curtain. The Biden administration, bogged down by bureaucrats, was spinning its wheels. Trump - whether officially back or not - took the wheel of economic diplomacy like a bulldozer with a GPS. This agreement? It has his fingerprints all over it. [more...]

Gov. Newsom Suddenly Decides to Ban Homeless Camps

By Daniel Greenfield, Author of Domestic Enemies

The takeover of California neighborhoods by homeless camps has been one of the most obvious features of the deterioration of public life. These camps moved beyond Skid Row and into nicer areas. Berkeley has been battling them lately and making headlines for it. But the only response by California officials was to raise more billions through taxes and 'bond issues' and then steal the money... while telling everyone to pay more. But after all those billions, Newsom is suddenly proposing to ban homeless encampments. What’s going on this time? This is his last term as governor. He's going to be out soon and he's trying to do what he can to move his name to the top of the list for 2028. [more...]

Is Trump Breaking with Israel?

By Robert Spencer, Author of Antisemitism: History and Myth

Is President Trump really preparing to recognize a Palestinian state? The news hit like a thunderbolt on Saturday, amid an avalanche of stories claiming that Trump is angry with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and is changing course from his previous wholehearted support of Israel's defense against Hamas and the other jihadist entities that are determined to destroy it. As is so often the case in such matters, however, there was decidedly less to the story than there initially appeared to be. The Jerusalem Post picked up the story from the American news agency, The Media Line. The distancing from the claim began in the headline: "Gulf diplomatic source claims Trump will announce U.S. recognition of Palestinian state." As the story unfolded, the claim became even more tenuous. [more...]

The First 100 Days - A Bipartisan Moonshot for a Better Future

By Todd Sheets, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

The administration has taken on many important initiatives, such as energy policy, trade, defense, education and the border. But the matters discussed in this article are the mission critical issues of our time. Reducing our deficits, growing our way out of our debts, and addressing the threat from the CCP are all bi-partisan objectives similar to the great challenges we have faced in the past. Both sides of the Congressional aisle should come together and work with President Trump to stick the landing on this modern moonshot. [more...]

Trump Wants to Bring Back 'The Rock'

By Greg Rabidoux, Award-Winning Filmmaker, Author & Cultural Commentator

The Alcatraz Island fortress sits a mere 2.9 miles from San Francisco in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge. Once a proud and fully functional symbol of America's commitment to punishing the baddest of the bad guys like Al Capone, George "Machine Gun" Kelly, James "Whitey" Bulger, Mickey Cohen, and of course, the Birdman of Alcatraz himself, Robert Stroud, immortalized by actor Burt Lancaster in the film of the same name, Alcatraz now sits dilapidated and in disrepair. But in the wake of Trump working with actor Jon Voight to restore Hollywood while placing 100% tariffs on foreign made films (think China), maybe it's time to invite the "worst of the worst" to come back and visit Alcatraz for an extended stay. Democrats on House Oversight Committee Unite Against Tariffs; Witnesses Tout Need for 'Factories of the Future' to Compete Against China

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

Democrats on the Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee are united against tariffs. That was evident in the April 29 hearing titled “Made in the USA: Igniting the Industrial Renaissance.” For these members, it was a lost opportunity to weigh in on the subject at hand: how does America build the factories of the future so that it can reshore? What policies are needed to protect the government’s investments in things such as the 'CHIPS Act,' or are we eventually going to have to sit back and watch as companies like Intel decide it's cheaper to make advanced chips in Mexico and Asia, all coming at great loss to American know-how and high-skilled labor. Instead, words like "chaos" and talking points like "the Trump tariffs" were repeatedly thrown around to criticize the barrage of trade policies the White House announced on April 2. [more...]

Trump Asks Muslim Leaders 'Do You Want to Die?'

By Robert Spencer, Author of Antisemitism: History and Myth

At the National Day of Prayer, President Trump, when he asked the imams in Michigan if they wanted to die, likely had in mind the Islamic jihadists' oft-repeated desire for death. A Muslim child preacher once taunted those he has been taught to hate most: "Oh Zionists, we love death for the sake of Allah, just as much as you love life for the sake of Satan." Jihad mass murderer Mohamed Merah said that he "loved death more than they loved life." The late Nigerian jihadist Abubakar Shekau said, "I'm even longing for death, you vagabond." Former al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri’s wife advised Muslim women: "I advise you to raise your children in the cult of jihad and martyrdom and to instill in them a love for religion and death." And as one jihadist put it, "We love death. You love your life!" And another: "The Americans love Pepsi-Cola, we love death." That was from Afghan jihadist Maulana Inyadullah. [more...]

The Dark, Cold & Sharky Waters of Legal Consequence - Trump Sends the Alcatraz Message

By Judd Dunning, Talk Show Host, Bestselling Author

I took my first sailing lessons in the bay off the shores of Alcatraz, with its cold, dark, sharky waters. To this day, Alcatraz has always sent a message: Only come here legally. Only come here to speak the language, to contribute, to embrace the American dream. Don't come to traffic fentanyl, commit crime, rape, or take American lives. Don't come to dilute our vote with mass dependence funded by taxpayer dollars and enabled by corporate greed and radical leftist politics. Illegal immigration has become a tool — not of compassion, but of control by the new underclass, low-wage automatons, used by the hard left to reshape America into a post-national global follower, not the exceptional bold and powerful leader it has always been. [more...]

Sec. of Defense Hegseth Calls for Dumping 20% Four-Star Generals

By Daniel Greenfield, Author of Domestic Enemies

The U.S. military, like every institution, has become top heavy with useless people. We have a lot of Chiefs, not as many Indians, and the Chiefs don't do very much except push their agendas and plan their future careers as defense industry lobbyists or consultants for foreign companies. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is doing something about it. "More generals and admirals does not equal more success. Now this is not a slash and burn exercise meant to punish high-ranking officers," Hegseth said. [more...]

Trump Moving Healthcare Debate Away from Heavy Handed Gov't

By Sally Pipes, Author of The World's Medicine Chest

There are many things to like about President Trump's executive order on prescription drugs, which he released last month. Paramount among them is that it moves the debate over prescription drug pricing away from price controls and other forms of heavy-handed government intervention. Instead, it aims to dismantle many government-imposed barriers that frustrate patients' ability to access state-of-the-art medicines affordably. [more...]

Judges Should Stay in Their Lane

By Scott Powell, Author of Rediscovering America

There was consensus when the Constitution was drafted that the judiciary would be the weakest of the three branches of the federal government, and for good reason. The Founders knew that there needed to be decisiveness in the executive branch, as there is no more immediate and important duty and role for the chief executive and commander-in-chief than to protect national security and safeguard American citizens. Trump made deportation of illegal immigrants a key plank in his campaign platform in 2023-2024, and he had a decisive November 5 election victory. Support for his deportation policy has actually increased since the election. Yet, men and women in robes from federal judges to the Supreme Court are defying the will of the people and putting America at risk by not ceding full authority to President Trump to manage the deportation of illegal immigrants.
