6.8 Million with Skills Gap Looking for a Job
By Tudor Dixon, CEO of Lumen Student News providing unbiased news to America’s middle and high school students

“There are currently 6 million jobs available in this country that are due in part to the skills gap,” says Ivanka Trump. The Labor Department data shows there are 6.8 million Americans looking for a job. The so-called skills gap is a problem with roots in education and serious implications for the nation’s economy and defense. Many of the available jobs require specialized training and skills, but not necessarily a college degree. America’s education system has slowly shuttered vocational education programs in favor of pushing students toward a path through college that’s left many with unusable degrees and sky-high loans. Meanwhile, an aging population of baby boomers are retiring from traditional occupations – plumbers, electricians, foundry workers, machine technicians and numerous other technical fields – leaving no one to replace them. VA Health Care is a Cautionary Tale Against Medicare-For-All
By Sally Pipes, President & CEO of the Pacific Research Institute

Army veteran Glenford Turner lived for nearly four years with a piece of razor-sharp metal in his abdomen. The object wasn’t shrapnel from the battlefield — it was a scalpel he alleges was left inside him during a 2013 surgery at a Connecticut Veterans Affairs hospital. Turner’s story, revealed in a federal lawsuit filed in January, is just one of many public humiliations for the VA’s scandal-plagued health system. It’s also a tragic illustration of what happens when government bureaucrats are charged with administering health care for millions of people. Instead of recognizing the agency’s incompetence as a cautionary tale, progressives led by Sen. Bernie Sanders are eager to expand this broken health care model to the entire country, in the form of “Medicare for all.” [more...]

United Airlines Killed a Puppy… Now What?

"Puppy Dies After United Flight." Is there a businessperson out there who would want that headline featuring their company? Not to mention the uncountable amount of times the image of that adorable French bulldog has been blasted over TV and Internet. This last year seems to have brought a recent rash of PR nightmares facing public figures and companies alike. Be it the world of politics, sports or business, when PR disasters strike, the way they're handled has as much impact on the outcome as the incident itself. So just in case you ever find yourself in an image-management mess, here's how to make your way back from a PR disaster without a misstep… [more...]

Clinton Foundation Keeps Sexual Harasser Cash to Empower Women

Trump’s Measured Response to China’s Economic Aggression is Needed

Trump rightly named China a “strategic competitor” in his National Security Strategy. The U.S. Trade Representative stated that China’s entry into the WTO was a mistake. The administration’s National Defense Strategy called out Beijing’s use of predatory economics to coerce neighboring nations. Chinese firms have repeatedly hacked America’s leading companies and stolen proprietary technology to build their economy. U.S. firms are not allowed to sell in China unless they manufacture there. American companies are also required to transfer key technology at coercively low prices — all in exchange for short-term market access. Then, local competitors drive American companies out of the market. According to indictments and other court documents, Chinese companies have stolen proprietary U.S. technology for products including nuclear power generators, solar cells, internet software, and internet hardware. Rather than trade fairly with U.S. suppliers, China has favored its own companies, racking up a $375 billion trade surplus with the United States and setting a new world record bilateral trade imbalance. This is economic aggression. [more...]

Gunning for Religion

Much of what we saw was expected at Saturday’s March for Our Lives protests. The politics and organizers were predictably “left-wing,” and their aim was not so much to safeguard children as to outlaw all non-government guns. But what is most surprising is how many of the protestors attacked the act of offering prayers in the wake of shootings… it was strange to see so many signs specifically aimed at condemning prayer. One such voice was former Attorney General Eric Holder, who called scornfully for radical political action instead of “the usual... prayers.” Holder served under President Barack Obama, who as a candidate in 2008 patronizingly told a fundraiser of wealthy San Franciscans that working class people in flyover country “cling to [their] guns or religion.” Why should we be surprised that the same arrogant elite that plans to confiscate your guns also wants to demean and destroy your religious faith? The Celebrities Behind the Anti-Gun March

Lending support to the recent anti-Second Amendment march, which was misleadingly called the “March for Our Lives,” was a sizable roster of Hollywood elites. The participating celebrities, who are routinely shielded 24/7 by their own armed security guards, were among those who were financing and supporting the nationwide protests. The goal in mind was a singular one - to get other people to give up their God-given and constitutionally protected right to defend themselves and their families with firearms. [more...]

Facebook is facing major backlash after reports were made that user data was harvested for political purposes. The New York Times and UK Media reported that more than 50 million profiles were used by Cambridge Analytica, who was working on developing techniques that could be used to influence voters. This began when Cambridge professor, Aleksandr Kogan, harvested user data by having users download an app, "thisisyourdigitallife," through their Facebook accounts. The app offered a personality test, but also gave permission for Kogan to collect user data. This was all allowed under the Facebook terms of use. However, Kogan later presented the data to Cambridge Analytica, without the express consent of Facebook, breaching the social media platform’s terms of use. Facebook became aware of this breach and asked Cambridge Analytica to dispose of the data; but after reports emerged, it became clear that the institution kept some of the data collected by Kogan. Correcting the Washington Post’s Disgusting Narrative about Police Officers and Race
By Ron Hosko - President of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund/ Fmr. Assistant Director of the FBI

Last week, the Washington Post committed half of an entire page of newsprint to a Wesley Lowery article entitled “Police are still killing black people. Why don’t we notice?” Lowery, as he tends to do, works hard to keep alive the notion that police wantonly hunt and gun down innocent blacks and now his frustration with the lack of attention on the subject is pointed, unsurprisingly, at President Trump. He’s right on some points, including that Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, played regularly into the Post’s preferred theme of abusive and racist policing in America. Yet Lowery gives more, salting his complaints with the wholly misleading dog whistles that presumably help him make his point. He buries three seemingly important names in his article – Trayvon Martin, Sandra Bland and Freddie Gray – each working as triggers that will get his undiscriminating readers nodding in vapid agreement. Will the Republican Party Split in Two?

Forcing the Omnibus bill on President Trump and the American people, holding the necessary military expenditures hostage as we face a potential war with North Korea, keeping the funding for Planned Parenthood, refusing to provide money for the border wall and security, and the establishment Republicans essentially passing a Democratic Party spending bill, is a tipping point in American politics. The terrible Omnibus Bill will result in the splitting up of the Republican Party into two new parties – the Conservative Party and the Republican Progressive Party. This profound and historic breakup will take a few years to take place and complete. It now looks inevitable. Read my just released new book, More Great News for America - this is just one of eight bold predictions I make in my new book. [more...]

Mark Zuckerberg is Making Mistake Number 1 in a PR Disaster: He's Not Showing Up

Zuckerberg is committing one of the main mistakes in handling a PR disaster -- he's not.

Even if he isn't certain yet of all the facts, his next steps, or even how Facebook has determined to proceed, there is still a necessity for him to be seen, heard and above all communicate that he gets the critical nature of the situation. If I were coaching Zuckerberg, I would advise him, or any other CEO facing a PR disaster, to get ahead of the game by doing the following four things: express concern, apologize, commit to finding the facts, and present a next action. Don't Fall for Single-Payer's False Promises
By Sally Pipes, President & CEO of the Pacific Research Institute

Support for single-payer health care has reached an all-time high, according to Gallup. Seven in ten Democratic voters -- and one in three Republicans -- favor a government takeover of the health sector. They should be careful what they wish for. Single-payer systems have failed everywhere they've been implemented, from the United Kingdom to Canada. Americans who fall for single-payer's promise of "universal health coverage" at lower cost will instead find themselves facing long waits for subpar care. [more...]

The Real Background of Trump's Pick to Lead the CIA

Gina Haspel, Trump’s pick to succeed Mike Pompeo as head of the CIA, is a thirty-year veteran of the agency, one well respected by intelligence professionals from both parties. If confirmed, she will be the first woman to run our most important security agency. But despite this feminist victory, the Dems are likely to muddy the waters at her confirmation hearings by smearing her with allegations she oversaw “torture” at a black site in Thailand in 2002. Typical of what we can expect is the New York Times editorial titled, “Having a Torturer Lead the CIA,” even as the charge about the black site was shown to be untrue. [more...]

Islamic Hell and Child Abuse

Some would say that after the Islamic Revolution, Iran became an Islamic hell. But it's the idea of Islamic hell that is at issue... and the impact that it had on a young boy. It thrives not on the positive, but on the negative. To see this and more Glazov Gang moments, conversations, interviews and debates, subscribe to its YouTube channel. [more...]

Spreading the Wealth Trump Style - Get Ready for More Tax Cuts

I’m no proponent of runaway government spending and the headlong rush into national insolvency. But, if the government is going to do it anyway, we as citizens should get to hold onto every last red cent, regardless what it might eventually be worth. And, who knows, perhaps the added attention to the deficit will help the Congress to return to fiscal sanity. It’s doubtful, but we always hope for change we can all believe in. Like clockwork, President Trump raised the prospect of more tax cuts during the Republican Congressional Retreat. He recently delivered, promising Phase 2. [more...]

Embarking on an Entrepreneurial Journey?

The entrepreneurial process involves innumerable notions like “starting really early in life” or the necessity of being a “college drop-out,” or even that the whole process requires an actual “written plan” for the idea to flourish. However, neither all successful start-ups are babies of very young entrepreneurs, nor consequences of penned business ideas. “Burn the Business Plan” busts the common myths surrounding the entrepreneurial journey and should be a must-read for aspiring entrepreneurs. The book is the outcome of Carl Schramm’s findings while he led the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation - an institution supporting entrepreneurship - spending time with many successful as well as aspiring entrepreneurs, investors and business visionaries. Facebook, the Dow Jones and Presidential Campaign Models

There’s MORE Great News for America coming - according to Dr. Gerard Lameiro. Many will recall that in 2016 Dr. Lameiro accurately predicted a Trump victory while most pollsters and pundits gave Trump almost zero chance of winning the presidential election. In his Electoral College forecast, Dr. Lameiro correctly predicted every state that candidate Trump actually carried in the 2016 election. On November 8th, we all learned that Dr. Lameiro’s Electoral College forecast was right on the money.

Facebook made big headlines this week due to its users’ personal data being utilized in presidential campaign models. Why did Facebook, predictive analytics, and presidential campaign models sink the Dow Jones Industrials on Monday?

This entire story about Facebook and the presidential elections of 2016 and 2012 all center around a little-known topic, namely predictive analytics. In my brand new book, More Great News for America, I not only make eight bold and surprising predictions about politics in America, but I also explain in common sense and easy-to-understand, language (without math and statistics) what predictive analytics are and how they are related to presidential election models and polling.

While forecast models take current or past data on many voters and project it forward into the future, predictive analytics tries to better understand what current factors are influencing individual voters to yield their likely future behavior. Predictive Analytics attempts to understand individual voters well enough to recognize what influences their voting decisions. A presidential campaign can then customize their outreach to individual voters.

Facebook lost nearly 7% of its stock market price on Monday because investors were worried that the Facebook business model might be harmed as a result of using their data about individuals to help various presidential campaigns in the future. In addition, this controversy might erode the overall ability of Facebook to monetize its data and business model for other campaigns and commercial purposes. This news also hurt the Dow Jones because it had a negative impact on tech stocks in general.

What will the impact be on the Special Counsel’s investigation? [more...]

David Horowitz: Neo-Nazis on Campus

David Horowitz Freedom Center Releases Pamphlet on
“Neo-Nazis on Campus”

SJP and MSA activists praise Hitler, call for a second Holocaust

The David Horowitz Freedom Center released a groundbreaking pamphlet today revealing that campus anti-Israel activists affiliated with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), the Muslim Students Association (MSA) and other likeminded groups are using social media to praise Adolf Hitler, spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and call for the extermination of the Jews.

The Freedom Center’s new pamphlet describes how the anti-Israel terror group Hamas has funded a generation of college activists who falsely portray the Jews as colonial-settler occupiers of a fictional state called Palestine” and maliciously describe Israel—the only liberal democracy in the Middle East—as an “apartheid state,” leading to an outpouring of neo-Nazi hate and open calls for another Holocaust.

Statements shared by SJP and MSA activists on social media, which are documented in the pamphlet include:

“@DictatorHitler: How many Jews died in the Holocaust? Not enough.

“@PrincessLulllu @thearabgirl HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

 “@DictatorHitler: Gassed a Jew, I’m sweating #Heil’ OMG.”

“Have a safe trip Lulu. I love you baby girl! See you in 3 weeks! Kiss the Palestine ground for me and kill some Jews! <3 #IMissYouAlready.

“F**K THE JEWS F**K EM ALL KILL ALL THE JEWS ATTA BOY HITLER.”

“@BarackObama shut up about gay marriage and go kill all the Jews.”

“Hamas does nothing wrong tho, and they’re always kidnapped by Israel and tortured...they’re a peaceful group.”

“Hitler had a lot of great ideas. We need a guy like that in the white house.”

Students for Justice in Palestine was co-founded in 2001 by Hamas-supporting Berkeley professor Hatem Bazian, whose profile also appears in the pamphlet. Bazian has openly called for an intifada, or violent uprising, in America, and has shared anti-Semitic memes on social media.

SJP employs funds from the terrorist party Hamas—funneled to American campuses through an intermediary group, American Muslims for Palestine, chaired by Professor Bazian—in order to launch an all-out political assault on the Jewish state and to create a climate of hatred towards Jews and students who support Israel on campus.

As a result of this support and funding from Hamas, SJP has become the principal collegiate organization in the Hamas terror network and the campus propaganda war against Israel. It heavily promotes the Hamas-endorsed and funded Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel, a form of economic terrorism which seeks to weaken, delegitimize, and ultimately destroy the Jewish state.

There has been no condemnation of Hamas by Students for Justice in Palestine or the Muslim Students Association because both are creations of the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist organization that translated Mein Kampf into Arabic in the Thirties and whose leader, Hassan al-Banna, was an open admirer of Hitler and launched the Islamic-Palestinian movement to “push the Jews into the sea”—a sentiment that is echoed in SJP’s perpetual protest chant to liberate Palestine “From the River to the Sea”—a genocidal call to destroy the entirety of the Jewish state which lies between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.

The profiles contained in the pamphlet—which were assembled using carefully documented references from the Canary Mission, an organization dedicated to cataloguing hatred across the political spectrum— showcase the statements, actions and motivations of ten of the most ardent Neo-Nazis who are conducting the campus war against Israel. Trump’s Turning Point in History

Progressives, after a century of power-grabbing, were in 2016 only one election victory away from dissolving America into a collectivist global government. The left-dominated media and unelected Deep State in 2016 decided that they would do more than interfere with our election by rigging the Democratic nomination for Hillary Clinton, and then refusing to prosecute her many crimes. Almost unreported, the liberal media also tried to rig the Republican primaries to guarantee that Ms. Clinton became President by picking the “weakest” possible opponent to make her victory easy. The media did this by giving Donald Trump what the New York Times estimates was a de facto campaign contribution of $2 Billion worth of free airtime to beat his GOP rivals. [more...]

Sexual Harassment Allegations Surface Against the President of the Motion Picture Academy

The last thing Hollywood needs is another high-profile scandal. Unfortunately, this is exactly what recently landed at the doorstep of a once respected institution. The president of the Motion Picture Academy, who was at the organization’s helm in the midst of the Harvey Weinstein sexual misconduct disclosures, is himself now the subject of an investigation involving multiple accusations of sexual harassment. According to Variety, John Bailey, the president of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, is under investigation for sexual harassment allegations. The probe was launched after the Academy received three separate claims of impropriety. [more...]

The U.S. Surprises Estimates by Adding 313,000 Jobs

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the employment report for February 2018. It surpassed and surprised analysts’ estimates by adding 313,000 jobs. The unemployment rate remained at 4.1% for the fifth consecutive month, the lowest rate in 17 years. Analysts had expected that the U.S. had added about 200,000 jobs and that the pool of potential workers has been depleting. These new figures suggest otherwise; the last time the U.S. experienced large gains with low unemployment was during the economic boom of the 1990s. The U.S. has added over 500,000 new jobs since the start of 2018, and the labor force participation rate has increased as well - its best one month gain in over 8 years. [more...]

Corsi: Trump Absolutely Right in Firing McCabe

Bestselling author Jerome Corsi defended the Trump administration's firing of former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe - and derided sympathy for an ouster that'll deprive the veteran agent of his FBI benefits.
"His pension ought not to be his biggest problem," Corsi said in an interview with Newsmax. "Spending time in jail should be his biggest problem."

Corsi's new bestseller Killing the Deep State: The Fight to Save President Trump, details what the author says is a "criminal conspiracy to remove the president from office." Killing the Deep State has soared to the top of Amazon bestsellers and became a No. 1 bestseller its first day of release.

Corsi says the evidence is so overwhelming and the press is largely ignoring his book because it shows "the smoking gun" proof against the Bureau. Corsi noted that there are now allegations that McCabe engaged in serious wrongdoing, if proven, that include asking FBI agents to change interviews with witnesses. Fox News, Corsi said, reported that claim in late January - involving a FISA memo on Obama-era government surveillance. [more...]

Sex Reassignment Doesn’t Work - Here is the Evidence

Sex “reassignment” doesn’t work. It’s impossible to “reassign” someone’s sex physically; and attempting to do so doesn’t produce good outcomes psychosocially.

As I demonstrate in my book, When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment, the medical evidence suggests that sex reassignment does not adequately address the psychosocial difficulties faced by people who identify as transgender. Even when the procedures are successful technically and cosmetically, and even in cultures that are relatively “trans-friendly,” transitioners still face poor outcomes.

Dr. Paul McHugh, the university distinguished service professor of psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, explains... [more...]

To Protect the Environment, Pope Francis Should Look to Free Markets

Edited by Robert M. Whaples

As the Catholic Church marks five years into Pope Francis’ papacy, we should be grateful he has made environmental protection and helping the poor central themes of his work. Unfortunately, these noble aims are often undermined by the pontiff’s fondness for central planning by government and his antipathy for free-market capitalism.

In his 2015 encyclical, Laudato si’, his leading statement about “care for our common home,” Francis decries the excessive and wasteful consumption enabled by capitalism, and paints capitalists with an extremely broad brush, depicting them as exploitative, short-sighted, and selfishly unconcerned about the environment.

This misunderstanding of free-market capitalism is a regrettable distortion. Such criticisms disregard the market incentives and mechanisms (not to mention individual liberties) that best alleviate the environmental degradation and extreme poverty that Francis seeks to remedy. [more...]

The Dawning of a New Conservative Enlightenment

There’s MORE Great News for America coming - according to Dr. Gerard Lameiro, who has been called by radio and TV hosts across the country “America’s #1 Political Analyst” and the “Nostradamus of Political Elections.” Many will recall that in 2016 Dr. Lameiro accurately predicted in his prescient 2016 book, “Great News for America” a Trump victory while most pollsters and pundits gave Trump almost zero chance of winning the presidential election. In his Electoral College forecast, Dr. Lameiro correctly predicted every state that candidate Trump actually carried in the 2016 election. On November 8th, we all learned that Dr. Lameiro’s Electoral College forecast was right on the money.

Now comes the follow-up to his brilliant “Great News for America” - the highly anticipated MORE Great News for America, Dr. Lameiro’s enthusiastic, energetic, and optimistic vision for America. There is one special chapter in particular, which will appeal to those who believe in the foundation of the Judeo-Christian ethic. Lameiro predicts the dawning of a new Conservative Enlightenment that will further extend, strengthen, enhance, and then maintain our new Conservative Era for decades to come. Included in his prediction are the 4 R’s in America’s future:

·     The Return to Faith in God
·     The Renaissance of Reason
·     The Restoration of Education
·      The Rebirth of Morality, Freedom, Peace and Prosperity

These 4 R’s are major, significant, religious and cultural trends. They will play an important role in developing and promoting America’s religious freedom, political freedom, and economic freedom. They will also positively impact life in America on many different levels and in many different ways. Dr. Lameiro forecasts a strong resurgence in faith in God in America; a renewed understanding of reason, logic, and scientific method; the reinvigoration of our education system, eliminating the current wave of leftist indoctrination; and the eventual return to the values that made America great in the first place.

According to Dr. Lameiro, it’s an exciting and hope-filled time to be alive. Rather than lamenting dismal times ahead as many pundits do, he argues persuasively that America has entered a new conservative era. He predicts that there will be a rebirth of morality in government; that we will see a return to more individual freedom; that we will witness peace with other nations as well as peace within America, resulting in a level of economic prosperity greater than ever before seen in the history of the world.

Will Trump be the Last President to Visit California?

President Trump scheduled this week for his maiden visit to the most hostile leftist land to him on Earth, the once-golden state of California. Today California has more poor people than any other state – one-third of America’s welfare recipients, and one-quarter of its illegal aliens. This dependency on government has produced a super-majority of ruling Democrats and a minority-majority state where whites are a minority. In the north of this first “sanctuary” state, the Oakland mayor has done more than refuse to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) police... [more...]

Oprah’s “New Age” Wrinkle

Hollywood recently managed to take a classic fantasy novel and strip away its soul. Author Madeleine L’Engle’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” a book published in 1962, is clearly written from a Christian perspective and eloquently communicates the author’s biblical worldview. Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey are the co-directors of a current film adaptation of L’Engle’s work. Unfortunately, it is likely that the author would scarcely recognize her own story as a result of Hollywood’s reverse Midas touch that materializes in the form of New Age mysticism. [more...]

SolarWorld Americas is ramping production of solar cells at its Hillsborough, Oregon facility. CEO Juergen Stein tells us that the company is aiming to add another 300 employees before year’s end, which would bring its total U.S. workforce to 600 people. “We are already hiring,” Stein said. “We are running at around 50% of capacity today and we want to be back up to 100%.” Full capacity of the Hillsborough facility is 450 megawatts of solar cells. SolarWorld was one of two companies that took China’s solar manufacturers to the U.S. International Trade Commission and won their case, with President Trump’s January decision to slap 30% tariffs on imported solar cells and modules. [more...]

American Healthcare at a Crossroads

The American healthcare system is at a crossroads. Over the past eight years there has been an acceleration in the movement towards automation, centralization and regulation in an attempt to increase efficiency, lower cost and increase access. Towards that end, there has been an exponential growth in large hospital systems which have co-opted and in some cases closed community and rural hospitals; the number of physicians in independent private practice has steadily declined now accounting for only a third of practicing physicians; the medical insurance industry has been whittled down to basically five national insurance companies and government insurance (Medicaid and Medicare); and the out-of-pocket costs for patients has risen while their access to doctors has decreased.
