John M. Ellis, a professor at the University of California at Santa Cruz, recounted 50 years of frustration in his 2020 book, "The Breakdown of Higher Education: How It Happened, the Damage It Does, and What Can Be Done." Ellis declared that "campuses are now miserable caricatures of what they once were" and called for repression as the answer. He demanded "the removal of radical activists who politicize classrooms" and urged state legislatures to "investigate and then cancel funding for departments that are found to be hopelessly corrupted." Voters Overwhelmingly Want Their Beef Labeled to Show What Country it Came From

In response, 86 percent of voters support legislation currently under consideration in Congress that would require mandatory country-of-origin labeling for all beef products sold in the United States. "This is a no-brainer," said CPA Chair Zach Mottl. "Americans deserve to know where their beef is raised and harvested. China's Breach of International Human Rights Laws

For months now, we have all heard that reports would prove to be the most damning assessment yet on China’s version of the war on terrorism in Xinjiang. The State Department says China is committing genocide against these people. Biden signed the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act into law this summer as part of the official response to that. The United Nations – which usually walks on eggshells around China – called Xinjiang an international human rights crime. Given the UN's general softness on China, their report is the most damning of all reports yet on China's actions in that province. China worked hard to prevent the UN report from being published. In a major victory for gun control advocates, American Express, Mastercard, and Visa agreed to help the government track firearm sales. Federal law explicitly prohibits the creation of a federal firearm registry, and it requires that the National Instant Criminal Background Check System erase background check information within 24 hours of completion and that it not keep a database. Yet in 2016, the Government Accountability Office called out the Obama administration for holding on to the data, and the Biden administration continues to compile digital records. [more...]

Trump Docs Could Be Used Against FBI in 2023

My top predictions about the Mar-a-Lago documents:

• U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon's decision to grant the Trump team's special master request will be sustained, after the DOJ appeal.
• There won't be enough incriminating documents to formally indict Trump in a grand-jury setting.
• The Republicans will claim the majority in the House and Senate chambers for the upcoming midterm elections (Nov. 8).
• Starting as early as January 2023, House GOP investigators will put the FBI and DOJ under further scrutiny, in terms of explaining or justifying the FBI's Aug. 8 raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, along with the House hearings on the Jan. 6, 2021 unrest at the Capitol.

The Mar-a-Lago documents will be Exhibits A, B, and C in the case against the FBI. Regarding the document dispute, Morris believes Trump's legal team has a strong case of historical precedent on their side - due to the wide-ranging scope of the Presidential Records Act. [more...]

Unfortunately, election officials across the country are not keeping the most basic data to monitor election outcomes. Even when they say they do, the numbers do not come close to matching up. It was a simple goal: match the number of voters with the number of ballots cast. After the last general election, there were concerns that ballots were counted multiple times (so that there could be more ballots cast than voters who voted) and that ballots were destroyed (so that there could be more voters who voted than ballots cast). But, through our examination, we learned that it cannot be determined if these discrepancies exist, because most states and counties simply do not keep timestamped records of who voted as required by law. Joe Scarborough, the current co-host of the MSNBC show "Morning Joe," seems to be able to act, speak and breathe very comfortably in a realm of irrationality. There are many puzzling things about Joe 2.0. But rivaling for most disturbing is a recent one in which he appears to move from presenting questionable news to preaching questionable theology. His current claim is that long ago Jesus Christ placed a sort of stamp of approval on abortion. The strategy here by Biden's people is to get off the presidential record and attack Trump personally, and the key element was raiding Mar-a-Lago. On Biden's PA speech last week, America needs this hateful rhetoric right now about as much as American citizens need bullets to their heads. We’ve got an inflation problem. Democrats Charge That Republicans are Led by Fascists is Absurd

Joe Biden and other Democrats have suggested GOP leaders Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis are fascist wolves in sheep's clothing. That is of course absurd, as both Trump and DeSantis have shown by their policy actions that they are committed to the Constitution and protecting the rights of the people, which is the antithesis of fascism. If there are fascists in America today, many of them are found among the socialists in the Democrat Party. And that is consistent with the development of fascism in both Nazi Germany and Mussolini's Italy, where fascism grew out of the socialism of the left. Hitler rode to power as the leader of the National Socialist Party and Benito Mussolini was a revolutionary socialist before forging the paramilitary fascist movement. [more...]

Transgender Historical Revisionism

Social media users ridiculed a recent Scientific American documentary claiming that, "before the late 18th century, Western science recognized only one sex - the male" and that "the two-sex model served mainly to reinforce gender and racial divisions." The contention that women didn't exist until the 18th century is absurd and is also being taught in classrooms at both the most advanced and the most basic levels. Biden Falling on His Sword to Try to Stop Trump

Biden's dark and divisive speech last week was not about America, but more about Former President Trump - to try to turn the attention of the midterm voters to the past president rather than the struggles of the sitting one. The question is, why would Biden take the risk of giving so incendiary and unpresidential and intemperate of a speech as president; and the answer is because he's essentially falling on his sword to bring the issue to Trump and making this issue all about Trump. But the persistent attacks on Trump are going to fail to keep him from running in 2024. 

The FBI's raid of Trump's private residence in Mar-a-Lago was the first attempt to stop Trump. The speech was second; and third, is going to be a grand jury indictment of Trump for the crime of not returning his library books, which is essentially what he did with the archives. The archives are essentially a library. His books were overdue.

They'll indict him and try to convict him. And the purpose of this is not to knock him out of the race - they can't do that - not to deny him the nomination, but to foment a primary in the Republican Party. They're hoping that [Florida GOP Gov.] Ron DeSantis and his people say, "Why do we have to have this baggage in 2024; this guy is toxic in certain places; let's go past him. Biden's Law-and-Order Speech in Pennsylvania Was Deeply Dishonest

On Tuesday, Biden traveled to Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to attempt to "flip the script" on Republicans with a law-and-order campaign message. The theme of Biden's speech was that "the answer is not to defund our police departments - it's to fund our police." Biden's speech certainly involved a lot of flipping. During the 2020 presidential campaign, Biden was asked whether he supported "redirecting some of the funding for police into social services." 

Biden claimed in Wilkes-Barre that it is Republicans, not Democrats, who want to defund the police. He asserted, "We set aside $350 billion for state and local governments all across America, and urged them to use it, like your governor did, to make communities safer. But every single Republican member of Congress - every single one in this state, every single one -voted against the support for law enforcement." [more...]
