Reagan Biographer on Hinckley, Hillary, and more...

Reagan’s 1968 Dress Rehearsal: Ike, RFK, and Reagan’s Emergence as a World Statesman is an inspiring never-before-told history of how Ronald Reagan began to restore pride in America when he first ran for president in the late 1960s. Author and historian, Gene Kopelson’s tireless research uncovered findings based upon never-before-analyzed critical archives.  Against the backdrop history of Reagan’s first campaign for the presidency, it can now be revealed that behind the scenes, none other than former President Dwight D. Eisenhower was Ronald Reagan’s hidden political mentor.

Assassinations of the ‘60s

As assassin John Hinckley is released this summer of 2016, thoughts turn not only to the failed attempt on President Reagan's life in 1981, but also to the tumultuous spring of 1968 when both Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy were assassinated. At that time, Ronald Reagan was on his first quest for the presidency, a story never told before. RFK was Reagan's major political foe during this era, and author Gene Kopelson discusses the relationship between Reagan and RFK, especially how Reagan defeated RFK at an international debate on Vietnam and thus was seen as a terrific GOP presidential candidate against RFK or Lyndon Johnson.

Ronald Reagan says "There you go again" to Hillary Clinton

"There you again" was candidate Reagan's famous 1980 debate quote against Jimmy Carter; but Ronald Reagan had been seeing through the Democrats' plans for bigger government for decades. Indeed, Reagan first sought the presidency in 1968. And on those multiple campaign swings, he decried the loss of individual freedom as the Democrats sought bigger and bigger government. At that time, it was Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" and now, in 2016, there are the same failed policies being handed from President Obama to Hillary Clinton.

The Candidates on the Department of Education

Education, being one of the top issues debated by the presidential candidates, is very much on the minds of all Americans. In an important new book, education reform expert Vicki E. Alger, Ph.D., author of FAILURE: The Federal Misedukation of America's Children, shows us what the problems are and offers sound strategies toward improving on the failures of America's educational system.

Both candidates have yet to release comprehensive K-12 policy plans.  But one of Clinton's overall campaign messages is that her administration would continue to build on Obama's legacy. She's also reiterated some of her past positions, including saying that tying teacher pay and evaluations to test scores isn't such great policy - a key difference between her and Obama.  She says of The Dept. of Education: "That agency doesn't always get it right. But it provides vital support for programs from pre-K to Pell Grants and crucial resources that help low-income students, students with disabilities, and English-language learners."

Trump, of course, doesn't want the bureaucrats in Washington telling you how to manage your child's education. At a CNN town-hall event earlier this year, he said that education was one of the three most important priorities of the federal government. He has pledged to drastically cut or eliminate the U.S. Department of Education during his presidency.

How the TPP Commission Erodes our Sovereignty

Paul Ryan and Barack Obama have been pushing the Trans-Pacific Partnership as a trade agreement. We know from past experience these deals promote other countries’ market access to US consumers more than they promote exports.  But the TPP is more about global governance and sovereignty than trade. [more...]

It’s Foreign Affairs and Globalization, Stupid!

“It’s the economy, stupid!” That was the mantra uttered by the first Clinton presidential candidate in 1992.  Focusing on the economy is actually typical of most election cycles and certainly the economy is central to this election.  But if you look closely, you’ll see that, perhaps more than any other time in recent history, it is America’s relationship with the outside world - from the economy to immigration to security - that is taking center stage at this election. [more...]

DNC Double Standards

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has resigned from the DNC (effective AFTER the Convention) because they found out through WikiLeaks that the DNC plotted and worked against everyone EXCEPT Hillary. Instead of denying it and fighting back, she simply resigned. Sorry, something is wrong here. Here is how it works with the Dems: When the e-mails beat on Republicans, then they are true and real. When a Secret Service agent, the CIA or the FBI accuses a Republican of something, it’s gospel truth. When it smells like a Conservative Republican has done something illegal, the Left immediately yells “guilty,” “cover-up,” or “white privilege.” But when a Democrat is caught red-handed, it’s a conspiracy or a right-wing plot to make them look bad - because, you know, the Feds are out to get them. [more...]

The DNC’s New Hammer is the Mayor Who Wrecked Baltimore

Look who the Democrats gave the gavel to on Monday from their inner circle to symbolize what their party stands for – Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the outgoing mayor of Baltimore. In the spring of 2015 Baltimore was ablaze, as Craig R. Smith and I recount in our book, We Have Seen the Future and It Looks Like Baltimore: American Dream vs. Progressive Dream. Rioters had unleashed volleys of stones on the police. The Mayor’s response was to order police to fall back and not interfere with the rioters, lest this further inflame the anger of people over the death of local heroin pusher Freddie Gray. [more...]

Senator Tim Kaine Opposes the TPP Because it’s not Bad Enough

Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), newly selected running mate to POTUS candidate Hillary Clinton, was apparently for the TPP before he was against it. Mere days before his decision to join Mrs. Clinton on the Democratic POTUS ticket, Sen. Kaine listed quite a few positives about the TPP in an interview with The Intercept. Yet the day after Kaine’s vice president candidacy was announced, he agreed to officially oppose the TPP as part of his candidacy. [more...]

The New Trump Party

One of my ten predictions about the historic and critical 2016 presidential election is the end of the Republican Party has we know it. This prediction is coming true.  It’s happening now right in front of us. We see a new Trump Party emerging. Let’s look at the transformation of the old Republican Party into the new Trump Party now... [Go here for a complete analysis...]

Welcome Back, Ronald Reagan

I’ve argued for a year that Donald Trump is our Reagan, that in almost every way, Trump is Reagan, Part Deux. It was a lonely argument for most of the past 12 months. Not so much anymore. Donald Trump delivered the greatest Republican Presidential address since Reagan. [more...]

Kaine - The Face of the Democrats’ Dangerous Foreign Policy Priorities

Hillary Clinton settled on Virginia Senator Tim Kaine to be her running mate.  Senator Kaine’s self-effacing description of himself is “boring,” a trait that Hillary appears to relish. “I love that about him,” she told CBS News. Hillary also was looking for someone with knowledge of national security issues. Senator Kaine serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Arms Services Committee. What she really found in Senator Kaine is a running mate who epitomizes the Democratic Party’s increased willingness to turn on our close ally Israel and give the benefit of the doubt to Iran and the Islamists. [more...]

More Headaches for Hillary

By James Hirsen

The pressure is on big-time this week for Hillary Clinton and all of her political, media and special interest cohorts. As the Democratic National Committee readies itself to lower its opening gavel at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, WikiLeaks, the controversial organization that routinely publishes tidbits of previously undisclosed information, is priming the anti-establishment pump.

Interestingly, while party officials, public speakers and event planners were working overtime, WikiLeaks was living up to its name. Just last Friday, the group let 20,000 e-mails dribble out. The digital communications purportedly had DNC origins. The e-mails seem to indicate that in its electoral primary process, the DNC favored Clinton over opponent Bernie Sanders to ultimately become its 2016 presidential nominee. The content of messages suggests that Clinton supporters in the DNC infiltrated Sanders’s campaign.

Additionally, a portion of the e-mail contents contains a message from a DNC official who was apparently seeking to create a negative narrative about the Vermont senator’s campaign, referring to it as “a mess.” Another DNC official seems to suggest that Sanders’s religious convictions might be able to be used against him in the South. And yet another message sheds light on a potential effort to intimidate and improperly influence a major arm of the media. [more...]

It’s Time for a Law Enforcement Contract with America

Don’t “Blue Lives Matter?” How many more cops have to die before politicians and the people unite and announce their full support for the police? We’re not talking about half-measures or weak support. We’re not talking about meaningless words, but rather strong, meaningful actions. Back in the 1980s, the Newt Gingrich-led GOP created a "Contract with America." It swept the GOP into power. Contracts are effective forms of communication. So we believe this is the perfect time for a new kind of contract with America - one that puts the full force of government behind “the thin blue line.” This is a contract every politician in America should be willing to sign... and if they won’t sign, they have lost their way - and lost their mandate to lead. [more...]

Black, White & Blue!

There are almost one million law enforcement officials in this country. At any given point in time, there are almost 600,000 on the streets of America. If what the Left, Texas U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee types have said is true, that “Black boys are hunted down and killed like animals,” then where is all the carnage? All those white, Bible-thumping, conservative, Republican haters who own guns would be out hunting black kids for sport, right? Sound crazy? Because it is! [more...]

The RNC - Building a Landslide Victory

The dominant issue of peace (global terrorism, illegal immigration, law and order) will likely give the election to Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton.  In addition, the two subordinate issues of prosperity and personality will add to Trump’s electoral success. Voter momentum and voter intensity are moving toward a landslide election in November.  Solid blue states appear to be in play this year - something many would have deemed impossible 12 months ago. As I discuss in detail in my book Great News for America, I predict a new conservative era in America starting with this presidential election. [Go here for a complete analysis...]

Hollywood Goes to the Convention

Like the great Ronald Reagan before him, Donald Trump appears to possess superb Hollywood instincts. With his understanding of how politics and entertainment are a perfect match, Trump has systematically rewritten every campaign playbook out there. Now the GOP presidential nominee is set to host a party that is likely to forever alter political conventions to come. A hint that the public is in store for something really different begins with the convention’s line-up of speakers. [more...]

Erdogan Retains Power - Stronger Than Ever

An attempted military coup to overthrow the autocratic Islamist regime of Turkish President Recep Erdogan was soundly defeated.  A combination of mass street protests by Erdogan supporters and pushback by military and police forces loyal to his regime caused the coup to collapse in less than 24 hours from when it started. Erdogan’s regime also received unequivocal backing from President Obama and his senior officials, as “the democratically-elected, civilian Government of Turkey." This, despite the Islamist regime’s repressive policies targeting political opponents and journalists with brute force or imprisonment and his backing of jihadists fighting in Syria and elsewhere. [more...]

How the Media Covers Up Muslim and #BlackLivesMatter Terrorism

No sooner are the bloodstains and bits of human flesh hosed off the concrete from the latest Muslim or #BlackLivesMatter terrorist attack and the grieving families ushered through the cold metal doors of impersonal morgues to identify the bodies of their loved ones that the vultures of the media rise above a wounded city and begin spinning the same old lies. The propaganda, the artful selection and deselection of facts, have become as familiar to us as they were to any of the residents of the Soviet Union or North Korea. Anyone who pays attention knows not only that they are being lied to, but can easily predict the lies that they will be told on the evening news even before they actually hear them being spoken out loud. [more...]

How the PRICED Act Delivers TPP Ratification

The new PRICED Act removes a major Congressional objection to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement, thereby facilitating the trade agreement’s ratification. Here’s what you need to know: 1. U.S. law gives Big Pharma twelve years of patent exclusivity on their drug innovations... but the TPP only gives those same companies between five and eight years of biologic patent exclusivity; 2. The prospect of the biologic patent time period being dramatically reduced is the number one reason that the TPP does not have enough votes among Republicans to be ratified. [more...]

America Must Take the Clear Road to Racial Harmony

There is a clear road to achieve racial harmony within America today. It’s not complex. It’s not out of our reach. It’s not difficult to attain. Indeed, it must be pursued by all Americans who seek peace and prosperity, and a better life for themselves, their children and their grandchildren. Like any important human achievement, it finds life in the minds, the souls, and the hearts of human beings – in this case, all Americans. The clear road to racial harmony begins with a vision for peace and prosperity.  It’s the same vision I write about in my 2016 book Great News for America.  It’s the same vision that forms the foundation of the 12 core principles of conservatism. [Go here for a complete analysis...]

Comparing Trump’s Record vs. Clinton and Obama

Why is everyone distorting or outright lying about Donald Trump’s record? Why does no one compare Trump’s record with Hillary Clinton or Obama’s record? Remember when Hillary held a press conference in front of Trump’s “failed” Atlantic City casinos? Trump should run TV ads standing in front of the ruins of the Obamacare co-ops and exchanges. They are almost all broke and busted. He should point out the disaster of Obamacare has cost hundreds of billions. But it didn’t cost Obama a dime, because he blew YOUR taxpayer money. Now Hillary wants to expand Obamacare - double down with YOUR money. [more...]

‘Pets’ Runs Away with the Box Office

Illumination Entertainment’s “The Secret Life of Pets” unexpectedly dominated the weekend’s box office. The comedic 3D computer-animated family film is the latest release from Illumination, the company that delivered the highly successful “Despicable Me” and its big-screen offshoot “Minions.” With competition typically benefitting a movie hungry public, entertainment’s rising studio is looking more and more like a genuine alternative to animation giant Pixar. With its higher-than-expected $103 million debut weekend, “Pets” managed to dethrone Pixar’s “Finding Dory.” It also took the crown for having the best opening for a non-sequel, non-spin-off animated film, beating the $90 million debut of Pixar’s “Inside Out.” [more...]

Elitism - Declining in China, Rising in the U.S.

Elites are treated differently in China as compared to the U.S.  Living in China showed me that China is changing its expectations of elites for the better.  Watching the recent events relative to the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton makes me think America is also changing how it treats elites, but most definitely not for the better.  It is fascinating to think how these two countries seem to be moving in the opposite directions in this regard. [more...]

Who Really Won the FBI Primary - Hillary or Trump? Who Will Trump Pick as His Veep?

Who really won the FBI Primary – Hillary or Trump? Did Director Comey’s findings actually help Donald Trump’s campaign? Will The Donald use it correctly to frame the election? Legal Analysis of Hillary’s “Extreme Carelessness”
By James Hirsen, Legal Analyst

The FBI director's statement on the Hillary Clinton investigation is as contradictory as Chief Justice Roberts's decision in the Obamacare case. In the past, a "Constitutional crisis" was a rare occurrence. The ruling class in this country has forced citizens to live with ongoing Constitutional crises that have undermined the reputation and credibility of every governmental institution and all but destroyed the rule of law. Trump Goes ‘Dirty Harry’ on Trade

Last week Donald Trump pulled out his .44 caliber revolver and told the global trade system to “Go ahead, make my day.” Withdraw from the Transpacific Partnership trade agreement, re-negotiate or pull out of NAFTA, direct the government to use every tool under American and international law to end trade abuses, designate China as a currency manipulator, and instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to bring trade cases against China.  These are the highlights of Trump’s trade agenda - like the man himself, an agenda that is anything but timid. [more...]

Gross Negligence is Gross Negligence... Right?

Gross negligence is essentially an extreme (or a high degree of) carelessness. It is also clearly associated with a wanton neglect to exercise reasonable care under certain circumstances. In the case of classified defense information, gross negligence refers to a failure to carry out a special obligation to care for national defense secrets. What’s the issue with Clinton’s personal e-mail servers and gross negligence? [Go here for a complete analysis...]

The Clintons Can Be Hazardous to Your Health

I was working on a list of the Clintons’ “accomplishments” when a listener posted a list on my YouTube page. Let’s take a moment and check out some of these “mishaps.” [Go here for the comprehensive list of unfortunate accidents related to the Clintons...]

FBI - Hillary Lied and Illegally Sent Classified E-mails, But We Won’t do a Thing About It

Is anyone seriously surprised? Yes, all sorts of people might have gone down for this. But the idea that government, in its current state, would hold a presidential candidate from the government party accountable for anything less than choking a nun to death in broad daylight while cackling evilly was always a pipe dream. Hillary Clinton has a vast and influential network at her disposal. And the current administration backs her to the hilt. Furthermore, Lynch, no doubt made it clear to the FBI that no charges would be pursued no matter what. And that made the outcome inevitable. The FBI investigation provides plenty of ammunition for the election. It makes it crystal clear that Hillary Clinton lied about not sending classified e-mails. But it also states that it isn't going to do a thing about it. [more...]

FBI Move 'Corrupt Bargain' for Lynch to Keep Her Job

The FBI's decision to not recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for her private e-mail use amounted to "a corrupt bargain" so that Attorney General Loretta Lynch can keep her job should the former first lady win the presidency in November. Coming after the meeting between Lynch and Bill is as close to a sales receipt on a bribe that you can imagine. The June 27 meeting between Lynch and former president Bill Clinton occurred aboard her private plane on the tarmac at a Phoenix airport. The session lasted 39 minutes. Obviously Lynch met with Clinton by prearrangement... obviously, it was not coincidental. Obviously in the meeting, Lynch told Bill: 'Everything's OK. She's not going to be indicted.' [more...]
