Why Obama Will Lose in a Landslide

Back in late December I released my New Year's predictions. I predicted back then - before a single GOP primary had been held, with Romney trailing for months to almost every GOP competitor from Rick Perry to Herman Cain to Newt - that Romney would easily rout his competition to win the GOP nomination by a landslide. I also predicted that the Presidential race between Obama and Romney would be very close until Election Day, but that on Election Day, Romney would win by a landslide similar to Reagan-Carter in 1980. Understanding history, today I am even more convinced of a resounding Romney victory. 32 years ago at this moment in time, Reagan was losing by 9 points to Carter. Romney is right now running even in polls. So why do most pollsters give Obama the edge? [more...]

How to Win the Voters

For many years the electorate has been split in this country: roughly 40% blindly vote Democrat and another roughly 40% blindly vote Republican. The remaining 20% decide the elections. And those 20% will most likely never embrace a party no matter what either party does. After all these years of arguing and fighting back and forth between the parties, the voters are pretty much where they’ve been all along. Why has one side not proven their point well enough to move voters from one side to the other? I think I have figured out the answer. [more...]

Chinese Firm to Be Top Cinema Owner

Coming soon to a theater near you, in 3-D: a Chinese communist-owned multiplex. The Dalian Wanda Group, a Chinese firm, is set to become the biggest cinema owner on the face of the planet. The company will pay approximately $2.6 billion for AMC Entertainment Holdings, one of the top movie theater chains in the world. The Kansas City-based entity is the second largest cinema company in North America. In the U.S. and abroad, it owns or operates more than 5,000 screens and is the biggest operator of IMAX and 3-D facilities. The entertainment-related acquisition represents the largest purchase of any American company by a Chinese entity. [more...]

Tony Katz on 'A Better Wisconsin' Bus Tour

Tony Katz will be on the "A Better Wisconsin" bus tour this week and will be speaking at the Racine Tea Party this Saturday, along with Rep. Paul Ryan and a host of others.  A Better Wisconsin will hold a ten city tour focusing on the 2011 budget reforms and encourage activists to push for continued progress in the 2013 budget. The tour will focus on the elimination of the $3.6 billion state deficit, reduction of property taxes for the first time in 12 years, and more than $1 billion in savings thanks to Act 10. The tour will also coincide with a statewide petition from citizens to encourage their elected representatives to continue the reforms in 2013. Tony is available for interviews from Wisconsin all week. [more...]

Occupy is Being Organized by the SEIU

I've written about it in my books and blogs - the mainstream media is attempting to portray the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement as the Left's version of the Tea Party. Nothing could be further from the truth. I've spoken at several Tea Party events and observed those in attendance as respectful and thoughtful, unlike the rabble-rousers at the OWS events across the country whose main goal is to disrupt - at all cost. OWS is not the voice of the people; it is part of a grand scheme concocted by labor unions to serve their agenda. [more...]

Occupy is Being Organized by the SEIU

Occupy is Being Organized by the SEIU
By Dave Bego

I've written about it in my book and blogs - the mainstream media is attempting to portray the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement as the Left's version of the Tea Party.

Watching the protests on TV, you will notice numerous Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and AFL-CIO participants in the crowds. This is clearly an organization attempt by labor unions, despite SEIU President Mary Kay Henry's attempt to distance SEIU involvement in OWS. (Interestingly enough, the AFL-CIO was very up front in its involvement.)

The fact is: the OWS movement is no longer a citizen protest; it is now a well-organized, hardcore far-left movement designed to cause as much trouble as possible. The participants with "good intentions" abandoned the idea a long time ago. What remains now is a professional politically-driven organization with one goal in mind: to re-elect President Obama. This is a quote from a recent segment on The O'Reilly Factor:

"The Occupy movement is now being run out of Washington, D.C. and offices belonging to the Institute for Policy Studies, a far left outfit. The director of the group is John Cavanagh, a long time liberal activist. His non-profit institute accepts money from George Soros through the Tides Foundation. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are involved. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) headed by Mary K. Henry is paying rent for the OWS crew in D.C. - about $4,000 a month, the union is picking up. The SEIU has more than two million members and collects about $300 million a year from dues and other financial vehicles. Miss Henry herself has visited the White House a number of times as has the former head of the SEIU, Andy Stern, who has also been a frequent visitor to the White House and remains deeply involved with the union. From their D.C. offices, the Occupy leadership e-mails game plans to their hardcore members, telling them where to assemble, what to protest and even what to wear."

The goal of the occupiers is no longer to raise awareness of economic injustice; it is to disturb the peace and attack those with whom they disagree. The occupiers have big plans for the political conventions this summer and disruption and violence is their strategy. So, why does President Obama protect and even defend this movement and the people who have acted out against the law? Because he has a vested interest in keeping OWS alive and his union supporters happy.

Dave Bego's tale of fighting the SEIU's advances are chronicled in his riveting new book, The Devil at Our Doorstep, which describes the impact of unions on the economic and political landscape of America. He warns of the dangers posed by giving greater control to these firmly-entrenched organizations and their political supporters/dependents.

Trump to Newsmax: 'I'm Mulling Own Super PAC to Defeat Obama'
By John LeBoutillier

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump tells Newsmax he is seriously considering launching his own Super PAC to produce anti-Obama ads showing how Washington is allowing outsiders to "absolutely suck the blood out of this country." Trump sat down in New York on Wednesday with former Congressman and Newsmax columnist John LeBoutillier for an exclusive interview exploring a wide range of topics, including the economy and the deficit, Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, the Keystone pipeline, the “disaster” of Obamacare, Facebook, potential GOP vice presidential nominees, and the European financial crisis. [Go here for John's interview with Trump...]

Slaves to the Government Class

What were all the Wisconsin protests about? And the Scott Walker recall, for that matter? We show the government class has it pretty good. Over the past year, a lot of people have been talking about “the 1%” versus “the 99%.” But if you’re concerned about one class exploiting another for economic gain, that’s the wrong way to look at the problem. Watch this 5-minute animation explaining the differences between the 14% of the workforce that is the government class, versus the 86% that produces for them. The protesters are right about one thing: there are gross class inequities in America. [Watch it here...]

Is the 'War on Terror' Over?

Today’s post-9/11 society allows a militant who kills American soldiers can walk free? Imagine a widow’s fury as she finds out the news that her husband's killer is allowed to live and enjoy freedom while she is left to grieve for a lifetime. Ali Mussa Daqduq was recently cleared of all charges in the 2007 attack that killed Brian Freeman, 31, and four other U.S. soldiers. Daqduq has been considered the mastermind behind the attack south of Baghdad as part of the Hezbollah militant group. So, let’s see, we keep known terrorists in first class facilities, let them exercise, have food to their liking, prayer time, and other amenities - the same people who behead, torture, brutally beat us, burn our bodies, and much worse. And the liberals complain that we are not being fair. [more...]

Sharia Law & Islamic Radicalization

The Spring of 2011, The Arab Spring, provided a glimpse of hope that real democracy is finally on the rise in the Middle East, a region that has been living under oppression and tyranny for decades, if not centuries. Many people were excited, marching in the streets of Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Yemen, Saudi, Bahrain and Syria. Young and old joined together for the greater cause: FREEDOM at last. Then The Arab Spring faded and hope fizzled away. Fear is on the rise. The Muslim Brotherhood, Salafi, Sharia Law, Radical Islam are the new coined terms. All of a sudden Mubarak and his past reign seemed more promising than the unknown future. What was once called The Arab Spring is now called The Arab Winter. What does this mean to the U.S.? Terror, trouble and tragedy? [more...]

Simon Deng: A Profile in Courage
By Sarah Stern, Founder and President of the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET)

Simon Deng was born into the Shilluk region of South Sudan. When Simon was nine years old, his village was raided by Arab jihadist troops from Khartoum. Says Simon, “As we ran into the bush to escape, I watched as childhood friends were shot dead and the old and the weak who were unable to run were burned alive in their huts. I was abducted and given to an Arab family as a gift.” As a Christian child slave, Simon was beaten repeatedly and forced to do heavy labor. Day in and day out he worked as chattel for those who felt entitled to own another human being just because his race and religion were different from their own. But remarkably Simon managed to escape this hellish existence; and rather than live a life embittered by his experience, Simon rose to become a human rights activist for his people of Sudan. Even more remarkable is that Simon has been able to focus not only on his own hardship, but has become an outspoken critic of the duplicitous double standard of the United Nations toward the state of Israel, while it ignores the role of Islamic-sanctioned slavery and Arab racism. Record-Setting Canadian Oil Discovery Provides Path to U.S. Energy Security

In 1977 President Jimmy Carter created the Department of Energy to make the U.S. energy independent and establish a uniform energy policy. Thirty-five years later we are no less independent and outside the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, do not have an energy policy. Right now we are forced to rely on countries that are against us for our survival. Recently, the largest single deposit of oil sands in the world was discovered in Alberta, Canada. Geologists estimate the amount of oil in these oil sands anywhere between 170-300 billion barrels of oil, more than either Saudi Arabia or Venezuela. One may think that the federal government would respond positively to this development. Canada is one of our top trading partners and is our closest ally; no one from Canada has ever threatened American lives. Yet the Obama administration has turned away from the only tangible option that has been placed on the table for energy security. [more...]

To Mitt Romney: John McCain Is the Wrong Role Model

Mitt Romney has chosen to use John McCain’s game plan to try to win the election. Why would he choose a losing strategy? It’s time for Romney to wake up, take the gloves off, and get serious about winning this election. Support has grown for Mitt Romney as people are putting their differences behind them to focus on winning the general election. Among them is one Super PAC that wants to run advertisements educating the public about Barack Obama’s background, specifically Jeremiah Wright. Their reasoning is that since Obama was never vetted in the 2008 election, the public never really learned who he was. They want to backtrack a bit and educate people about who this man is so they have a clear picture to consider during the election. But Romney will have none of it. [more...]

Obamacare and Appeasement: An Unholy Alliance

Republican members of Congress introduced healthcare legislation entitled “The patients’ Choice Act of 2009. As per one of the sponsors, Senator Burr: “The American health care system needs a complete transformation. The Patients’ Choice Act will finally enable Americans to own their health care instead of being trapped in the current system, which leaves people either uninsured, dependent on their employer, or forced into a government program. With a focus on prevention and wellness and covering those with pre-existing conditions, the Patients’ Choice Act will make health care affordable and accessible to all Americans.” What Senator Burr and other members of Congress fail to recognize is that the healthcare system has been built on a foundation that favors the interests of the pharmaceutical industry, large hospitals, the American Medical Association, and the medical insurance industry. It has never represented the interests of doctors or patients. [more...]

Does the Treatment of Obama's Illegal Alien Half-Uncle Represent the Real Problem with Immigration?

Onyango Obama, the half-uncle of President Obama, has gotten his driver's license back after a suspension for drunk driving. Onyango Obama lives in Massachusetts as an illegal alien. (Massachusetts does not check immigration status when issuing driver's licenses.) A deportation order was issued in 1992 for him because he did not renew his visa. Somehow he’s still here. He lives openly in this country and even has a Social Security number. Onyango’s attorney says they are fighting the deportation order and expect it to take years. It is believed that they will argue that his returning to Kenya would put him in danger. So, is he getting special treatment because of who he is related to? [more...]

America on the Precipice

Despite the fact the United States is almost $16,000,000,000,000 in debt, the Obama Administration and Big Labor continue to push an agenda that adds mounting debt to both state and federal government. In a selfish and partisan political effort to survive, this partnership continues to attack brave legislators who are attempting to make responsible changes to turn around the economy and create jobs for the American people. Last August, Big Labor attempted to reverse Governor Scott Walker's initiative to cure Wisconsin's massive debt, incurred as a result of years of Big Labor collective bargaining gone wild. Al-Qaeda, Persistence Terror, and the Dilemma of Islamic Jihad

The recent discovery of a planned bomb attack by al-Qaeda against a U.S. plane in the
wake of Bin Laden’s one year anniversary provide us with an unwanted answer: NO, it is not over yet, not by any stretch of the imagination. The real problem with groups like al-Qaeda is not their former, present, or future leaders. The problem is in their ideology, which promotes hate towards the infidels and death to their enemies. Such ideology is not originated by a personal agenda, driven by ambition, or quest for notoriety; rather, it is embedded in their belief system which feeds off their holy book, the Qur’an - the real source of such terror and ideology. Unless we are willing to learn about this source, and how to combat its so-called divine teachings, no victory is worth celebration - at least, not so soon. And that, my friends, is the real Dilemma. [more...]

Did Obama Lose to a Prison Inmate?

Last Tuesday was one of the darkest days in American political history for a sitting President. And, as usual, the biased mainstream media decided not to cover it - a sign so devastating that he ought to consider dropping out of the 2012 Presidential race for the good of the Democratic Party... and America. Obama's jaw-dropping moment occurred in the West Virginia Democratic Presidential primary. Obama squeaked out a 58% to 42% victory. You might ask, “Who got the 42%? I didn’t know Obama had an opponent for President on the Democrat side?” Good question. Obama didn’t know he had an opponent either. Neither did the media. The man who got 42%? Inmate #11593-051. Yes, you read correctly. A Texas prison inmate named Keith Judd, incarcerated for 17 years for extortion, won 42% of Democrat primary voters in West Virginia’s Presidential primary against Barack Obama, the incumbent President. Keep in mind these were Democrats, Obama’s most loyal voters. [more...]

Elections and the Tea Party

Former Senator Arlen Specter is complaining about the impact conservative groups like the Tea Party are having on elections. Specter is just like the other Democrats and establishment Republicans in Washington. He’s out of touch with Americans. Voters are fed up with the mess politicians have created in Washington and they’re taking America back. Lately we’re hearing a lot of whining from people like Dick Lugar, Arlen Specter, and Orrin Hatch. They see the movement of conservatives, much of it via Tea Party activities, as a threat to the good ol' boy network of established power in Washington. Many politicians are feeling the pressure from Tea Party groups. Many more will follow. The Tea Party is not a protest movement, it's a revolution; and what happened in 2010 was only the beginning. French President Francois Hollande is An Elitist Fraud

Newly elected French President Francois Hollande hates capitalism. He has called the world of finance his "enemy." Hollande wants to "curtail" financial activities in Paris, removing it as a hub of worldwide finance. Then, the Socialist Hollande wants to take a few days off in his (one of many) house on the French Riviera. According to the Daily Mail, the Socialist-In-Chief has three “holiday” homes on the water, with an estimated value of £1million. Much of Hollande’s campaign success was making sure that former President Nicholas Sarkozy was the “Bling Bling” president. Was this information hidden from the French people, or is the French press as inept at vetting their candidates as the U.S. press? [more...]

Hold On to Your Wallets; Congress May Consider Another "edujobs" Bill

During the summer of 2010, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Congress into a special session to pass a $10 billion "edujobs" bill "to save" the jobs of thousands of public school teachers and support staff - nearly all of whom belong to labor unions. That "free" money allowed schools to continue their wasteful spending ways for a while longer, in hopes that the economy would come roaring back before school officials were forced to make difficult decisions about their out-of-control labor costs. But less than two years later, the economy is still stuck in first gear, schools have burned through their "edujobs" money and school budgets are back in the red. School officials will finally have to face reality and deal with their persistent spending problems, right? Not if U.S. Rep. Joe Crowley gets his way. The New York Democrat has proposed a new $70 billion, two-year bailout plan that would "save or create thousands of jobs for teachers and first responders." [more...]

'Where's My New Stimulus?'

Last Friday in Reno, Nevada the President debuted his newest $35 billion stimulus package. The goals for the new stimulus are all very honorable; the President’s list includes an expanded program to help homeowners refinance their mortgages, a proposal to give small businesses tax breaks for hiring more workers, a program that would help veterans find jobs, and an extension of tax credits for clean-energy companies. However, Mr. Obama didn’t discuss in his address the cost of his proposals or how to pay for them. It seems like every group is asking the President ‘Where’s my new stimulus?’ The administration has created a new stimulus for every group of voters they are trying to win over. If you’ve got a problem, there is a stimulus to fix it. [more...]

It's Going to be a Long Six Months

Now that Mitt Romney is the certain GOP nominee - and now that the President has officially kicked off his campaign in a poorly-advanced event in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday - we can assess the state of the race six months away from the crucial November 6th presidential election. [Here's John's analysis...]

Obama and Gay Marriage: Evolution or Flip-Flop?

President Obama does nothing without a political motive. This isn’t about his beliefs as much as it is about winning. He knows that America is predominately conservative and overall opposes gay marriage. Thirty-one states have passed amendments on marriage. That’s why he said he was against gay marriage in 2008. His change in position now has little or nothing to do with what he truly believes. Rather, it has to do with winning the election. [more...]

Tea Party Speaks, Lugar Out in Indiana

Proving wrong the leaders of the Progressive movement and the MSM, the Tea Party has rocked the political establishment by driving Republican Richard Mourdock to a primary victory in Indiana over 36 year incumbent Richard Lugar. Lugar, the 80 year-old, six-term Senator, conceded to Mourdock early into the vote counting. Mourdock took 61% of the vote to Lugar’s 39%. In his concession, Lugar stated his hopes that Mourdock will win in November. However, a statement released by his campaign had a stinging rebuke of both Mourdock, and, by extension, the Tea Party. Can Romney Hold His 10 Point Lead Against Obama With Independents?

Romney can attract more Independents than Obama because even though Romney is a moderate, conservative Independents will easily choose him over Obama. For some time the left has figured that Romney was the easiest candidate for Obama to beat. After all, Romney is a moderate by record and the left was sure that conservatives would never embrace him. But they missed something that may be playing in Romney’s favor. Democrats believe that Independents are primarily left-leaning, but they are wrong. [more...]

Lunch Pail Republicans

On the eve of the Indiana primary, it has become evident that Big Labor has taken the position “if you can’t beat them, infiltrate them!” The actions of the Lunch Pail Republicans provide further evidence of this position. Illinois IUOE Local 150 Chieftain David Fagan created an anti-Right To Work organization he calls "Lunch Pail Republicans." They claimed to have formed under the motto “We are Indiana Republicans who are focused on providing for ourselves and our families, protecting our rights and our property from intrusion.” Yet the LPR’s mission is to return the power of union officials and to forcibly confiscate individual employees’ paychecks, contradicting their own introduction. Global Oil Price Drop Creates American Opportunity

After watching France elect their first “Socialist” leader in 17 years, global oil markets are falling. It’s no big surprise; Capitalism doesn’t think too fondly of its socialist counterpart. That’s why oil prices fell as much as 3.2 percent after France elected Francois Hollande as its new president. As the European debt crisis escalates, more countries are starting to reject necessary austerity programs geared toward reducing spending and running a fiscally sound operation. The masses are actually calling for more government spending and more money printing. What the masses do not understand is that falling oil prices, and for that matter falling commodity prices, present a major opportunity for the United States. [more...]

The Obama Administration and the Israeli-Palestinian Issue
By Sarah Stern, Founder and President of the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET)

Last week, the Obama administration freed up $192 million in direct aid to the Palestinian Authority that had been put on hold by the United States Congress's Committee of Foreign Operations Appropriations, saying that this money had to be given to the P.A. "because of national security interests." The hold had been put on this aid because of the Palestinian Authority’s decision to go outside of the framework that had been agreed for Palestinian statehood, which was supposed to have been decided by direct face-to-face negotiations between the parties, themselves, and by incremental stages in which mutual trust was supposed to have been built up. What I Told Students at Harvard about Capitalism

As a lifelong capitalist, entrepreneur, and Reagan Libertarian, I was recently asked to deliver a lecture about the virtues of capitalism, entrepreneurship and fiscal conservatism at Harvard University. The lesson is that if capitalism and entrepreneurship are presented with enthusiasm, passion, energy, and honest personal stories, they will be accepted and celebrated everywhere in the world - even the intellectual, liberal halls of Harvard. The key is to counter the message delivered by President Obama, who spoke recently at a university in Florida and described capitalism as “a broken down theory," blaming it for our current economic problems. Will Biden Be Obama's Veep Pick a Second Time?

While speculation is already running rampant about the VP nominee that will join Mitt Romney on the GOP ticket, there is an increasing buzz just below the surface about whether Obama will also be making a Veep pick as he tries to keep the White House for a second term. Vice President Joe Biden is apparently not being included in the top level campaign strategy sessions. If he and Secretary Hillary Clinton were to switch things up, with Hillary on the ticket and Biden moving to State, then Biden would be on the outside looking in when it comes to the Obama reelection campaign structure... so there is no need to include him in the strategy development, right? Human Rights Gone Amuck under the Obama Administration
By Sarah N. Stern, Founder and President of the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET)

It was fortunate for the blind Chinese dissident, Chen Gaungcheng, that there was a great deal of media exposure and publicity surrounding his ordeal. The drama of having a blind person escape the Chinese authorities when the Secretary of State was due to have arrived in China was not to be missed. He and his family might have just been given a "Hail Mary Pass," thanks to his opportunity to study in the United States. But the thousands of anonymous Syrians slaughtered at the hands of Bashir Assad were not so lucky. Bashir Assad is the only Iranian ally in the Sunni Arab world. So the true winner in all of this is the Islamic Republic of Iran. [more...]

MoveOn's Quest to Outlaw the Term "Illegal Immigrant"

A video posted last week at MoveOn.org’s website charges that calling illegal immigrants “illegal” fits the definition of a hate crime and calls for the word “illegal” to be abolished when describing individuals entering the United States illegally. They would prefer using adjectives such as “undocumented” immigrants or “unauthorized” immigrants. That is sort of like calling a bank robber an unauthorized withdrawer. How about working to eliminate incentives for the illegal behavior itself rather than focus on banning its correct characterization? [more...]

The high priests of the Social Security and Medicare "trust funds" (whatever happened to the lockbox?) issued new warnings about the solvency of the "trust funds" they oversee. The Social Security Disability Insurance trust fund will be gone, depleted, kaput in 2016, which is two years earlier than expected. Thank you, masters of the obvious! Matt Rutledge, a research economist at Boston College's Center for Retirement Research, stated in Investor's Business Daily: "We see a lot of people applying for disability once their unemployment insurance expires." Next shoe to drop: The Social Security trust fund, which goes to retirees, will be exhausted in 2036, two years earlier than projected last year. This, once again, should not be a surprise to anyone who pays any sort of attention to our fiscal situation, because like clockwork, every year, the death date for the lockbox gets moved closer. Would Condi Rice be a "Game Changer" As Romney's Veep?

She has an 80% approval rating, according to CNN, and has been dubbed a “game changer” by some pundits. Many among the GOP elite believe Rice would add some “spice” to the Romney ticket, but most think he will go the “safer” route with someone like Ohio Senator Rob Portman. If Romney were to ask, would she say yes? If she said yes, would the GOP conservative base respond with excitement or anger? There are a lot of positives to a potential Romney-Rice ticket. Health Law Aims to Close Gender Gap

Florida women who don't get health insurance through an employer can forget about finding a single comprehensive medical plan that will pay for their care while they deliver a baby. Expanded access to maternity insurance is one of the provisions tucked into the 2,700-page law that is the Affordable Care Act. Maternity care grabbed few headlines as Congress spent 18 months wrangling over the legislation and when 26 states, led by Florida, challenged the law. But now the fate of that rule as well as dozens of others is unclear as the U.S. Supreme Court decides whether to strike down the law, which requires virtually every American to buy health insurance. Florida women who want to be mothers and can't get insurance through an employer or qualify for income-based aid have no choice but to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket. [more...]

"Anarchy 101: How Wisconsin's Left Embraces Chaos" - An EAGnews.org expose

The demonstrations and chaos that followed Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s introduction of budget reforms – later known as Act 10 – were a preview of what was to come from the orchestrated Occupy Wall Street protests. The protests in Madison had it all, except for Occupy’s numerous rapes, of course. EAGnews.org has produced an exclusive video report disclosing who and what were behind the massive demonstrations, the occupation of the Capitol in Madison, and extreme tactics employed to stop Walker’s reforms from being enacted. Latest EAGnews.org report focuses on questionable labor spending in Minneapolis

Across the nation, public school districts are struggling to balance their budgets while maintaining quality programs for students. That's the case in Minneapolis, where the district laid off employees last year to help overcome a $20 million budget shortfall, and plans to spend about $20 million from its fund reserve this year to meet rising costs. Report: Wealthy teacher union leaders are part of the hated 1 percent

Teacher union leaders are pushing for higher taxes on the wealthy – also known as “the 1%” – to help bail out the nation’s public schools, many of which spend 80 percent of their budgets on Big Labor costs. But individual taxpayers aren’t the teacher unions’ only tax targets. A few weeks ago, the National Education Association began a lavish media campaign to close seven corporate tax loopholes it says would generate over a trillion dollars that could then be poured down the rat hole, commonly known as K-12 spending. Anti-bully activist attacks Christians at high school journalism conference

An anti-bullying speaker at the recent National High School Journalism Conference used his keynote address to deliver a blistering attack on Christians and the Bible. The attack came from noted sex advice columnist and anti-bully advocate Dan Savage, who on an earlier occasion has publicly wished all Republicans were “f****** dead.” [more...]

Louisiana trying to dump tenured bus drivers (that's right, tenured bus drivers)

It's hard enough to get rid of a bad school teacher who's protected by tenure. Can you imagine a school district being stuck with a staff of tenured bus drivers? That's the case in Louisiana, where the Terrabonne Parish school district recently was forced to spend $14,000 on a lengthy tenure dispute involving a school bus driver. [more...]

Rubio as VP Nominee: Would He Help or Hurt Romney?

Marco Rubio is popular, likable, and has some positive traits, but he has a lot of baggage that could bring the Romney campaign down more than lift it up. He appears to be the golden child to many Republicans. As they salivate over the chance that Mitt Romney can pull off an election victory against Obama, many are thinking Rubio could put the campaign over the top to win the election. But deeper examination of the facts shows that Rubio actually may not be able to deliver what those supporters are hoping for. In fact, he might just be a drag on the Romney campaign that would make success against Obama harder to achieve. [more...]

EPA Wants to "Crucify" American Oil & Gas

I for one am not buying the mea culpa offered by the EPA official who bragged about the agency’s "crucify them" enforcement philosophy against oil and gas companies. The EPA official, Al Armendariz, offered a meaningless apology after telling everyone how he really feels. However, Senator James Inhofe is launching an investigation. The Senator said the remarks are “all a part of Obama’s war on domestic energy,” particularly on a process known as hydraulic fracturing, which is used to extract oil and natural gas from rock. Inhofe noted that the EPA, following Armendariz’s comments, went after natural gas firms in three states and tried to link hydraulic fracturing to water contamination. The Obama-appointed Region 6 EPA Administrator Al Armendariz’s claim in his apology that the agency is focused on “fair and vigorous enforcement” isn’t supported by the facts. [more...]

Free Our Fuel!

The president promised to fight for the middle class, but continues to stand directly in the way of projects that would create thousands of American jobs and reduce energy costs.  Now gas prices are on the rise, hurting those Americans he promised to look out for.  America sits on vast, untapped energy sources that will lower energy prices and create jobs at a time when we need it.  It's time the White House stopped locking up domestic energy production.  It's time to Free Our Fuel! NOTE: Tony Katz is prepared to discuss the rising cost of energy, the administration’s attack on abundant fuel sources and how this topic will impact the 2012 election. Tony is the featured speaker at the Free Our Fuel Rally in Tampa and Townhall meeting in Naples, Florida May 1st and May 3rd.

Holy Islamville: Paramilitary Training in America's Backyard

A radical Pakistani cleric named Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani and his followers testify to the holiness of a shrine where miracles allegedly prove his supernatural powers. The shrine isn't in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or anywhere in the Islamic world. It's in York County, South Carolina inside a commune about 36 acres large called "Holy Islamville," located on a street named Islamville Way. South Carolina officials need to understand what Islamville really is. [more...]

Taking of American Freedoms

The "Taking of American Freedoms," as chronicled in my new book The Devil at Our Doorstep, reached a new high under the Obama administration this past week, but the mainstream media continues its refusal to report on this administration’s continued march toward socialism. Over the past week, the U.S. Senate and the Department of Labor have gang tackled the American people in order to protect and benefit their beloved source of campaign funds - Big Labor and their "bosses" who continually funnel money into their election coffers. These actions beg the question Will the NLRB Decide the 2012 Presidential Election and the ultimate fate of America? [more...]

Justice for Victims of Overseas Terrorism
By Sarah N. Stern, Founder and President of the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET)

The Koby Mandell Act was signed into law by President George W. Bush in December 2004 as part of a State, Justice Commerce Appropriations Bill. This law created the Office of Justice of Victims for Overseas Terrorism in the Department of Justice, whose job it was to ensure that all American citizens, irrespective of where they were killed or maimed would get justice under American law that they deserve. I'd worked on a piece of legislation to take the entire portfolio of Americans who had been maimed or killed by Palestinian terrorists out of the State Department, which, to be fair, is concerned primarily with diplomacy, and put it in the Justice Department, where the primary concern should be justice.  [Read the story of how we were able to make this bill into law...]
