Your ATM Could Turn Into "a One-Armed Bandit"

It might look like an Automatic Teller Machine, but the ATM where you withdraw or deposit your money might soon turn into a one-armed bandit able to steal your cash and your identity. Experts have called what might be about to happen an "Armageddon" and an "XP-ocalypse" with the potential to bring disaster to savers and our economy. The computer brains of 95 percent of the world's ATMs have been running Microsoft's old XP operating system. But as of April 8, Microsoft will no longer be fixing any holes that hackers discover in this software. If hackers find a way into your no-longer-protected ATM, they could do a LOT worse than just drain one of your bank accounts. [more...]

David Letterman: Evolve or Die

David Letterman made his inevitable announcement on April 3rd that he will be retiring in 2015. His reasoning behind the decision included his ever-escalating age and his yearning for more quality family time. But the main reason for his departure, which can be heard from the loudest whispers of the industry and casual viewers alike, is the deafening fact that a fresher new surge of late-night TV hosts are inches away from devouring the late-night legend in the ratings; a necessary move, provided by the current climate of popular culture. There is no disputing the amazing legacy that David Letterman has left in Late Night TV, but there is a major lesson that we as professionals should take away from this situation. In business, one must evolve with the times or become completely obsolete. [more...]

All Hail Margaret Sanger?

Nancy Pelosi accepted one of the highest awards bestowed by Planned Parenthood, the Margaret Sanger Award. That's an organization started by a racist, black-hating woman named Margaret Sanger. Margaret didn't care about a woman's right to choose, nor did she care about "female reproductive health." She didn't care about overpopulation. She wanted to keep the Blacks and other less desirable (her view, not mine) people from populating the planet in any way. Does my pointing out the history of Planned Parenthood aggravate you? How about a few quotes from the award's namesake herself, Ms. Sanger, as a reminder... [more...]

The Re-branding of the GOP, the Truthfulness of the Obamacare Sign-Up Numbers and the Inherent Corruption in D.C.

On this week's POLITICAL INSIDERS, we discussed a SuperPac's attempt to re-brand the GOP; the nascent Jeb Bush presidential campaign; the Rose Garden rally to celebrate the Obamacare sign-up numbers, and an increase in the "chilling" efforts to stifle free speech. Watch our shows here: Sunday Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Monday on the Dot Com. [more...]

4-8-14 Great Guests for Your Show

1. Lowell Ponte: Where Can Investors Turn if U.S. Stocks and Banks are Rigged?
2. Christina Tobin: The Right to Participate in Democracy through Political Contributions
3. Ryan Mauro: Afghan Troops Push Back Taliban for Successful Election
4. Sandy Botkin: Obamacare and Small Businesses
5. John LeBoutillier: Were the Obamacare Sign-Up Numbers Rigged for the 2014 Campaign?

Where Can Investors Turn if U.S. Stocks and Banks are Rigged?

Two shocking financial news stories hit the wires last week: First, evidence indicates the U.S. stock market may be rigged - front-run by high-speed traders who push stock prices up in a millisecond to skim profits. Second, the world's 12 largest banks are being sued for rigging the foreign exchange markets over the last decade. For nearly one-half of Americans, news of stock market "rigging" is irrelevant because they've bailed out of stock investing all together over the past five years. Did you know that your money deposited in most U.S. banks could be subject to withdrawal restrictions and even confiscation by existing Executive Orders and International Law? One-third of Americans ignore these risks because they have less than $1,000 in savings. Another one-third of our fellow citizens have less than $25,000 saved, with many assuming that our spendaholic politicians will bail them out. [more...] Watch this.

The Right to Participate in Democracy through Political Contributions

How far can the U.S. Supreme Court go serving the interests of the political elite before it all backfires? The Court's decision removing the limit on the amount of money an individual can donate to political campaigns is so outrageous that it is bound to cause people to lose even more faith in their government and the political process. In a way, this is one of the best things that could have happened this election season for Independents, who do not have the money of big corporate lobbyists behind them, because they will stand out as honest candidates who represent the people. Afghan Troops Push Back Taliban for Successful Election

As unpopular as the war in Afghanistan is, the April 5 presidential election is a moment the West and Afghans can be proud of. The Afghan security forces prevented chaos and turnout was about 60% with one-third of voters being women. The frontrunner, Abdullah Abdullah, wants to immediately sign an agreement to keep U.S. troops around. The incredibleness of what's been achieved can only be appreciated if you think about the obstacles Afghanistan faced. [more...] Watch 'Mosque with extremist ties conducting prison outreach.'

Obamacare and Small Businesses

I have been getting a lot of questions about how Obamacare applies to small businesses. At the outset, most of the strategies such as heath savings accounts, medical savings accounts and flexible spending accounts are still available. As a small employer with less than 50 employees, you do NOT need to provide health insurance to your employees. If you do, however, provide coverage, you have several choices among those selected:
1. Section 105, self-insured medical plan
2. A flexible spending account (FSA)
3. A Health Savings Account (HSA)
I want to note that if you do provide group health insurance, you need to pay at least 50% of the cost of the plan. [more...]

Were the Obamacare Sign-Up Numbers Rigged for the 2014 Campaign?

Were this week’s shocking Obamacare sign-up numbers real – or just a campaign gimmick? Should Israeli spy Jonathon Pollard be freed? Did the IRS and other federal agencies target other U.S. citizens thus making them real-life enemies of the state? This – and much more – will be discussed by the POLITICAL INSIDERS on Fox News Channel this Sunday evening at 7:30 PM ET. [more...]

The Real Reason Behind Letterman's Retirement

David Letterman stunned his audience last week with his announcement that he would retire from late-night television sometime next year. The CBS "Late Show" host referenced a conversation he had with "the man who owns this network, Leslie Moonves." He said he had phoned Moonves and told him, "Leslie, it's been great, you've been great, and the network has been great, but I'm retiring."

He implied that his decision to leave the show was one he had made in order to spend time with his family, but many television professionals are more inclined to believe that the proactive move may have had more to do with CBS's late night competition for ratings. The business end of late-night programming has undergone some significant changes due to recent technological trends. Viral videos, social media sites, and on demand media constitute a new norm for obtaining and keeping late-night audiences, particularly the younger demographic. [more...]

"Noah" - The 3,300-Year-Old Version of the Story

Many religious traditionalists have been harshly criticizing the recently released movie "Noah" for its distortion of the Bible’s sacred chronicle. Rather than indulging in criticisms that accomplish little, I am going to present some aspects of the ancient Jewish version of Biblical story that has great modern relevance.

This, in a nutshell, is a much abridged version of the Biblical tale. The people of that era grew terribly decadent and debauched, save for Noah. The Almighty therefore flooded and destroyed the world except for Noah, his family, and representatives of the animals who all survived aboard the Ark. After the water receded and Noah left the Ark, God promised that He would never again smite the world in so devastating a manner. What follows are some amplifications on this saga taken from ancient Jewish texts. [more...]

Democrats Demand Change on Obamacare

We knew that this would happen eventually. It was only a matter of time. There was only so long that the Democrats could go without starting to turn on the monstrosity that has become Obamacare. Six United States Senators - Mark Warner (D-VA), Mark Begich (D-AK), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Angus Kin (I-ME) - have now called for major changes to fix Obamacare.

After more than 6 million Americans had their health insurance plans cancelled, several Democrats are now calling for the creation of new "bronze" plans that would essentially make legal the 6 million health insurance plans that the President made illegal. The Senators also want to abolish the employer mandate for employers with less than 100 employees.

The reality is that we are in an election year and all of these Senators are scared. Even the administration has acknowledged the need to strip down the law as much as possible because of all of the disastrous side effects. The administration is extending every deadline possible. They can't figure out which parts of the law they want to enforce and which ones they don't. It’s become an absolute disaster. [more...]

3. John Zmirak, Ph.D.: 'Bad Words:' The Best Pedophile Film of 2014
4. John LeBoutillier: America's Unilateral Surrender, Obamacare's Misleading Sign-Up Numbers and the Christie-Jeb Bush GOP Competition

Democrat Crime Spree

Don't look now, but we are experiencing a Democrat crime spree. Who would have believed it? Democrats aren't worried about the GOP, but they're scared to death of RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act). Democrat politicians are falling like flies. They are being arrested all over this country. You'd almost think the Democratic Party was one big widespread organized crime gang. Keep in mind Democrats are the ones always claiming to care about women, children, minorities and the poor. It turns out this is all a cover for "Show me the money!"  [more...]

Strange Things that are Taxable

Gambling: If you earn any income from gambling, it is taxable. This includes winnings from fantasy football. Casinos must withhold from gross income if you earn over:
$1,200 from slots
$1,500 from Keno
$5,000 or more from poker
$600 or more from horse racing
NOTE: you can deduct gambling losses against gambling winnings when you file your tax return. [more...]

'Bad Words:' The Best Pedophile Film of 2014

When I went to see Jason Bateman's new comedy, "Bad Words," I expected a rollicking, profane, irreverent romp.  What I saw instead was the story of a pedophile "grooming" a pubescent boy for abuse.  That's right. That is what happens in "Bad Words," as anyone knows who has read the real life accounts of teachers, counselors or priests who have been convicted of sexually abusing young teen boys: In narrative after narrative, the arc of the story is drearily scripted: an abuser - typically someone with a deeply troubled upbringing - locates a lonely, naive boy less than half his age, and... America's Unilateral Surrender, Obamacare's Misleading Sign-Up Numbers and the Christie-Jeb Bush GOP Competition

On this week's POLITICAL INSIDERS, we returned to one of our oft-repeated themes: America's political class is killing the American Dream and is surrendering the economic, military, technological and moral gains made over the past fifty years. We also looked at the politics of Obamacare - and the 2016 GOP presidential race. Watch our shows here: Sunday Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Monday on the Dot Com. [more...]

$304 Million Dollars and Not a Single Person Covered

The Obamacare success stories just keep coming in. From the bright minds that brought you healthcare.gov, it has now been revealed that the federal government has spent over $304 million dollars in grants for the Cover Oregon health insurance Web site, which has not covered one single American. Apparently the only way you can get health insurance in Oregon is through a "hybrid" model in which you sign up on the Web site but then have to finish your registration on paper, as opposed to just filling out the health insurance form on paper to begin with. [more...]

Operation Dirty Money?

A look at the official government Web site moneyfactory.gov purports to show vast quantities of currency being produced - over 70 million 20s in December alone. So my question is where are these notes? Last week I visited my bank and had a talk with the branch manager. I asked him when he last received a shipment of new notes. Other than $100 notes, he couldn't recall. While this is all hearsay, I've approached a number of people asking the same question, "Look in your pocket and see if you've got any new notes." The result is always the same, only worn out filthy notes in poor condition. [more...]

"The Pledge is a Political Weapon"

So says two Bangor Maine Council Members. I had to read it twice myself. They refuse to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance because they believe it's being used as a political weapon. How, you ask? They won't answer that question. That's right. As some do, they simply make a statement to justify their crazy, ludicrous actions, even when they have nothing to stand on, and expect you to believe what they're saying. They actually think they are making a statement, but can't tell you what "statement" it is. Looks like we'll just have to guess since they won't respond. [more...]

A Bleak Outlook for College Grads

The outlook for recent college graduates continues to be disheartening for the majority of young Americans. According to the Center for College Affordability & Productivity, 48% of employed U.S. college graduates are in jobs that don't require a four-year degree and 37% are employed in positions that require only a high school diploma. Recent graduates are forced into accepting jobs that are below their skill sets due to the increasingly fierce job market of today. The official unemployment rate for grads under age 25 is 7%, not reflecting all those who are under-utilized in one way or another. Nearly 8% of grads are working part-time, but would like full-time positions. [more...]

Labor Unions are Showing Their True Colors... Again

The past two weeks the big labor Gasping Dinosaurs have once again shown their true colors, proving that they will do anything to avoid extinction. They are desperate in their attempts to find new ways to bring in money as they continue to see dwindling membership. First, the United Steel Workers used its patented tactics of misdirection, misinformation and intimidation to unionize Northwestern University Football players, knowing this could open the door to organize thousands of members across the country. C'mon guys, now you're going after naive and inexperienced college athletes! [more...]

How Many People Have Really Signed Up - and Paid - for ObamaCare?

This week on The Political Insiders: Why won't the administration tell us how many people have really paid for their ObamaCare coverage? Is Putin out-maneuvering the President? What does recent polling tell us about American surrender of the Internet and our manned space program? Are D.C. lobbyists prepping to rig the system even more if the GOP takes control of the Senate?
