Democrats Demand Proof of Life?

WH press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made it clear yesterday at her press briefing, this notion, this crazy fever dream of Democrats that they will somehow demand "Proof of Life" from the El Salvadorian "hostage holders" and extricate Abrego, aka "A Maryland Man" in some daring Tom Cruise-style rescue from the clutches of that evil right-winger President Bukele is just that - lunacy. Nonetheless, the Democrats, a party with no leader, no solutions, no coherent message, yet a party who never met an MS-13 or Tren de Aragua gangbanger they didn't instantly fall in love with, now wants a Russell Crowe-style "Proof of Life" for Abrego - a man who, not once but twice was acknowledged by a court to indeed be an MS-13 Gang member. El Salvado understandably denied these "4 Democratic Amigos" (Frost, Ansari, Dexter, and Garcia) their coveted "Proof of Life" demand because well, unlike in the movie of the same name, 1) Abrego wasn't kidnapped, 2) El Salvado isn't demanding a $650,000 ransom, and 3) Abrego is not an innocent American businessman being held as a hostage - he is a criminal, not a Hollywood hero. President Trump’s escalating feud with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell has suddenly taken center stage. As a headline in yesterdays The Wall Street Journal online noted, “Dow Drops 972 Points, Dollar Slides as Trump Renews Fed Attacks.” I agree with the President that the Fed has played a primary role in creating many of our current problems, that it has not been held accountable for its mistakes, and that it is deeply in need of reform. But I disagree with the President on what exactly those problems are and how they should be fixed. President Trump is frustrated with the Fed for failing to ease monetary policy to help markets adjust to his new tariff proposals. His threatened solution is to make the Fed more accountable to the President so that he can push for lower interest rates. [more...]

Yet More Worthless Public Health 'Research' On Guns

News headlines across the country repeated a University of Colorado public health study claiming that “1 out of every 15 American adults have been at a mass shooting.” That figure suggests 18 million Americans have witnessed a mass shooting firsthand and 5.6 million were “injured” -outrageous claims that fall apart under basic scrutiny. Yet reporters keep repeating this claim without question or asking any researchers who might be critical of the survey. After all the misinformation public health researchers spread during COVID, the public should now view their research with greater skepticism. But the legacy media remains a different story.
