We are seeing a new Iron Curtain waiting to fall after President Trump's term if conservatives lose control of this country. We must study history to know the truth. There is no healthy face of communism, which is evil and repressive; and its sister ideology, socialism, carries the same false promise whenever it seeks to replace individual liberty, private ownership and the sovereignty of the citizen with centralized government control. This is not fearmongering. The socialistic, communistic, non-America-first and anti-sovereignty politics we have seen threaten the central principle of conservative populism: that the citizen is the true ruler and owner of the country. Lock Up the Enablers - Parents Must Face the Consequences, Too

I thoroughly agree with the 15-year prison sentence handed down to Colin Gray, the father of the Georgia teenager who carried out the deadly 2024 Apalachee High School shooting. This decision was long overdue and a powerful reminder that parental responsibility does not end at the front door. Gray was convicted after giving his son the assault rifle used in the massacre despite multiple warning signs, including the boy's fascination with mass shootings, his disturbing behavior, and prior contact with law enforcement regarding alleged threats. For far too long, America has treated some parents of violent juvenile offenders as innocent bystanders. When overwhelming warning signs are ignored, and a parent provides the very weapon used to commit mass murder, accountability should not stop with the shooter. [more...]

The U.S. is the world's No. 1 exporter of liquefied natural gas. It has two new LNG tankers under construction, or under firm order, in the Philadelphia Shipyard. The builder is Hanwha Ocean, a South Korean shipbuilder. No U.S. company has built an LNG tanker since 1980 – that's the Virginia-based General Dynamics built LNG tanker named "Abuja." For this reason, the House Foreign Affairs Committee seems committed to counting on Japan and South Korea to help the U.S. rebuild a shipping industry long lost to Asia a generation ago. [more...]

America's Murder Problem is Smaller Than it Looks

Does the United States have a higher murder rate than its peer countries? Yes, but new research shows that statistic obscures how murders in the U.S. are extremely concentrated in very tiny areas. Nevertheless, the United States has recently made remarkable progress. Since national recordkeeping began in 1900, the country has never recorded a murder rate this low. The previous record low was approximately 4.5 murders per 100,000 people, and the rate stood at about 5.0 per 100,000 in 2024. [more...]

DSA Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong, who had once been institutionalized, is a bipolar socialist immigrant (she makes Graham Platner seem nice and well adjusted) had once tweeted that Thanksgiving should be canceled because it was racist. Hong was sued for $30,000 by Capital One for not making payments on her credit card which she blamed on her failed chef business... so I'm not sure that the natural next step is being governor of Wisconsin. Thankfully, not every American was equally subjected to Anthony Fauci's (the public health bureaucrat who became the face of America's botched COVID-19 response) overweening, politically expedient and often-changing dictates. We have our Founders to thank for that: Federalism mitigated the burdens of Fauci-ism for the many Americans fortunate enough to live in states whose political leadership defied prevailing COVID-era biomedical despotism. I would know: I moved to Florida in 2021 in no small part due to the way Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) handled COVID-19.
