...and while Democrats claim that 'black lives matter,' their policies of defunding the police and getting rid of prison means more black people will be victims of violent crime.

What these Democrats ignore is that criminals overwhelmingly prey on people like themselves. About 90% of black homicide victims are killed by other black people, and 70% of black violent crime victims are victimized by a black offender. Abdul El-Sayed, the projected Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, has argued that systemic racism shapes the criminal justice system and has advocated defunding the police and reducing imprisonment. In tweets and interviews in 2020 and 2021, he made comments such as, "I believe that we do need to defund the police," and "The police have become standing armies we deploy against our own people." [more...]

Import Values Fell by Around $6 Billion in June, But Month Was Second Highest Goods Import Surge of 2026

Despite foreign currency gains against the dollar in top trading partners like Mexico, Vietnam and China, import values for goods came in at $309.01 billion. That is the second highest import value of the year following May's $316.86 billion surge, says the Bureau of Economic Analysis. All told, the goods gap for June was $102.10 billion, down from $105.96 billion in May. Import values are much higher than the $82 billion to $86 billion range recorded for much of the year, suggesting both price inflation of key imported commodities and possible spikes in volume of manufactured goods. Mamdani's Wife to Travel to Al Qaeda State with NYPD After September 11

Something has gone very wrong in New York City.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s wife Rama Duwaji is heading to Syria and Lebanon next month – and she’s bringing along cops assigned to the First Couple’s taxpayer-funded NYPD detail, The Post has learned. Duwaji will be jetting to the Middle East for a trip beginning Sept. 20 to the countries on the State Department’s “Do Not Travel” list for Americans because of dangerous conditions, a source said. Duwaji, a 29-year-old Syrian-American artist, has ties to the region and refers to herself as a “Syrian Illustrator” on her website.
