California's New Middle Class

By Guy Paul Nohra, Author of Not On Our Watch

How California's AI boom is reshaping economic security and raising questions about long-term fiscal sustainability.

Predictions of California's economic demise underestimate the extraordinary wealth A.I. could create in the state. Despite serious problems with homelessness, infrastructure, affordability, governance and regulation, California retains one of the most powerful innovation economies in the world. But that wealth has implications far beyond Silicon Valley. It may also be helping to reshape what it means to be middle class in California. California may be developing a new form of middle-class economic security, one built not primarily through entrepreneurship, private-company equity or individually funded retirement accounts, but through public employment, collective bargaining and long-term benefits. The connection to California's technology economy makes this particularly interesting. A.I. could create another extraordinary wave of private wealth in California. [more...]

The Dangers of El-Sayed - What He Hopes Michigan Never Reads

By Rabbi Daniel Schonbuch, Conservative Therapist, Writer and Podcaster

Abdul El-Sayed wants Michigan to send him to the U.S. Senate. On the campaign trail, he presents himself as a capitalist, a physician, and a man with no affiliation with the DSA. But the record is more complicated. And with the race inside the margin of error, the record matters. Barack Obama is scheduled to campaign with El-Sayed in Detroit on October 24. The question is not simply what Abdul El-Sayed calls himself today. It is what he has said, whom he has campaigned with, which political movements he has worked alongside, what policies he has advocated, and how he explains apparent inconsistencies in his record. [more...]

NOTE: Rabbi Schonbuch has embarked on a campaign throughout October leading up to the midterms. He will be in Michigan at the end of October for in-person appearances alongside Mike Rogers. Rabbi Schonbuch has been a driving force in NYC over the past year confronting Zohran Mamdani at highly publicized rallies. And now Fmr. Mayor Giuliani has embraced the Rabbi and this cause.

New Trump Admin Stats Prove Good Guys with Guns Save Lives

By John Lott, President of the Crime Prevention Research Center

The federal government consistently downplays evidence that armed, law-abiding citizens can stop public mass-casualty attacks.

Those who manipulate crime data can shape the political debate. The Trump administration has reversed some serious data manipulation that occurred during the Biden administration when it comes to crime. At the request of gun control advocates, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) removed data from its website. The Trump administration has now restored the data, but it went a step further, correcting an important error in the original post. That correction is a major accomplishment. But there are problems with data at the FBI and DOJ that still need to be corrected. [more...]

Where Did All the Socialists Go?

By Todd Sheets, Investment Banker, Economist, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

Socialism is not just one of many ideas the Democrats have welcomed into their "big tent;" it is the lifeblood and energy of the modern Democratic Party. Margret Thatcher provided what may well be the best critique of their agenda: "The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money." To see what a once prosperous Western Democracy looks like when it reaches that point, pull up an image of the rioting going on in France today. Sadly, it is the intended beneficiaries of the socialist policies who bear the brunt of their inevitable failure. If we don't act now, future generations may well end up staring dejectedly at similar images from right here in America. [more...]

Data Center Imports Push Monthly Trade Deficit to Another 2026 Record

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

AI data center demand for semiconductors, computers and telecommunications equipment drove the goods deficit to its highest level of the year – coming in at $136.57 billion for August, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. To put that number into perspective, the revised July goods deficit was $123.80 billion. The $12.8 billion August widening is an import story. [more...]

The Statistical Gimmicks Hiding America's Homelessness Crisis

By Michele Steeb, Homelessness Expert

The official U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development homelessness count is 746,000 people. But the real number is closer to 1.5 million. Why the discrepancy? Because for over a decade, HUD has been employing clever gimmicks that exclude hundreds of thousands of people experiencing homelessness from their numbers. Now, HUD is changing course with meaningful reforms. [more...]  ...HUD's Homelessness Reforms Put Human Lives Ahead of Housing Bureaucracy

The CDC Corrects its Post on Defensive Gun Uses

By John Lott, President of the Crime Prevention Research Center

At the request of gun-control activists such as Mark Bryant, founder of the Gun Violence Archive, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention removed its defensive gun-use data in May 2022. Bryant had complained that gun-rights advocates frequently cited the estimates to "stop [gun-control] legislation," The Trump administration restored the post as it originally appeared before the CDC removed it and has now corrected an error in the original version. This was the CDC's original post. The All-Seeing AI State is Coming - The Constitution is Our Firewall

By Judd Dunning, Talk Show Host, Newsmax Columnist

If knowledge is power, then near-total knowledge is near-total power.

This belongs at the center of America's artificial intelligence debate. The greatest political danger may not be a machine becoming conscious and taking control of mankind. A more immediate danger comes when immense knowledge is married to immense government power in a culture already weakened by moral relativism. Government could learn more about ordinary citizens than any ruler or intelligence service in history. There are reasons to be bullish on AI. Our military and doctors should use it. American business should dominate it, and entrepreneurs should make fortunes building it. Jerry Kaplan calls it one of the most important inventions in human history while warning that powerful systems cannot simply police themselves. [more...]

Super Intelligence to Reach Human Potential

By Todd Sheets, Investment Banker, Economist, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

Managed properly, as the Trump administration is doing, SI has the potential to unleash unprecedented advancements in education, science, and the arts. Imagine a world where underprivileged children have access to first-rate, customized tutorials and test prep; where the discovery and testing of new groundbreaking medicines is vastly accelerated and improved; and where a young Paul McCartney, who doesn't happen to grow up near a young John Lennon, has the opportunity to bounce musical ideas off of a brilliant collaborator. To be sure, there will be issues, some significant, that come with the development and implementation of Super Intelligence. But, as our long history has amply demonstrated, we have an unmatched ability to overcome any and all challenges as we strive to reach our human potential. [more...]

Bipartisan Group in Congress Pushes to Decouple China Tech from Federal Communications and Data Networks

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

After the recent Trump-Xi meeting, four Members of Congress are currently pushing a more structural and long-term China-risk-reduction agenda than the Trump administration is pursuing through the bilateral relationship. The White House extended its "tariff truce" through January 10, 2027, created a process for reducing tariffs on roughly $60 billion in non-sensitive trade, and agreed to continue economic, military and AI discussions. That is a stabilization strategy on behalf of the Executive Branch. But the Legislative Branch can be even more hawkish at times. A new bill, announced Sept. 25 seeks to systematically remove optical transceivers made by Chinese companies from federal communications and data networks. [more...]

Nick Shirley Risks His Own Life to Expose Open-Air Drug Markets/Homelessness Crisis

By Michele Steeb, Homelessness Expert

More homelessness. So how could the system claim success? Nick Shirley is exposing open-air drug markets and America's homelessness crisis on full display across four American cities. Rabbi for America: El-Sayed is Too Extreme for Michigan

Rabbi Daniel Schonbuch is embarking on a campaign: "Rabbi for America in Michigan," including radio, TV, podcasts and social media, throughout October leading up to the midterms. He is available for remote radio and TV interviews now and will be in Michigan at the end of October for in-person appearances. With 148,000 YouTube subscribers and 43 million views over the past year, he can bring an established audience to Michigan media and national broadcasts covering the election.

His message is a warning to Democrats AND Republicans about four concerns regarding Abdul El-Sayed:

  • His alliance with Hasan Piker, who is quoted as saying, "America deserved 9/11" and who also made inflammatory statements concerning American Jews.
  • His "hurt people hurt people" response to the synagogue attack, which risked minimizing the attacker's responsibility.
  • His support for ending military aid to Israel, potentially weakening a vital American ally and America's strategic position.
  • His reluctance to comment on Khamenei's death, citing sadness among some Dearborn residents.

His latest blog post: El-Sayed Is the Most Dangerous Politician in America

Gun Control Advocates Really Don't Think There is Any Age at Which People Should Own Guns

By John Lott, President of the Crime Prevention Research Center

Gun control advocates have condemned the Justice Department’s decision to stop criminally enforcing the nearly 60-year-old 1968 federal ban on licensed dealers selling handguns to law-abiding 18-, 19-, and 20-year-olds. They say it will cause the loss of life. "That’s because young Americans are disproportionately likely to commit gun violence," claims the GIFFORDS Center’s Executive Director Emma Brown. Today, 18-year-olds generally reach the legal age of majority. That was not true when these laws were being adopted: a 1872 State Department survey reported that males reached majority at 21 in every state it listed. Many states only lowered the age of majority to 18 during the 1970s. [more...]

HUD's Homelessness Reforms Put Human Lives Ahead of Housing Bureaucracy

By Michele Steeb, Homelessness Expert

Chronic homelessness rose 81% since 2013 despite soaring spending under the previous strategy.

The First Circuit Court of Appeals has cleared the way for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to move forward with desperately needed reforms to the nation's homelessness system. After months of litigation by the Homeless Industrial Complex to repeatedly block these reforms, the decision allows HUD to redefine success and fund the programs that generate the greatest success in moving the homeless toward recovery, restoration and self-sufficiency... and not a moment too soon. Success will now be measured by whether people are getting better: recovering, working, reconnecting and reclaiming their lives. [more...]

Overinflated Controversies Shouldn't Decide Midterms

By Judd Dunning, Talk Show Host, Newsmax Columnist

With the midterms fast approaching, voters should know that President Trump has become one of the most consequential deconstructionist, anti-globalist and anti-bureaucratic presidents of the modern era. He's challenged the administrative state, decades of free trade orthodoxy, our approach to illegal immigration, and basic assumptions governing America's relationships abroad. Whether you like him personally is irrelevant. Voters should know about his enormous policy changes. Deregulation and the administrative state may be the most important and least discussed part of Trump's presidency. He ordered agencies to eliminate at least 10 regulations for every significant new one. [more...]

How the Democratic Party Turned on Israel

By Michael Levine, Public Relations Expert, Author of Authentic PR

The Democratic Party's long-standing support for Israel has reached a turning point, and a July House vote put the division on public display. On July 15, 103 House Democrats voted for an amendment that would have eliminated $3.3 billion in U.S. security assistance to Israel. 98 Democrats voted against it, while 10 voted "present." The amendment failed, but the tally exposed a party split on one of America's closest alliances. For years, support for Israel was a point of bipartisan agreement. Now more than half of House Democrats who took a position voted to cut its security aid. That is no longer a fringe argument. It is a roll call. [more...]

Trump & Xi – It's Not Time to Poke the Panda

By Todd Sheets, Investment Banker, Economist, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

Both the left and right have panned Trump for the pomp and circumstance he afforded Xi in their recent meetings. But this once again misses the mark. I believe Trump's current agenda includes: a) dominating and reaping the economic, social, and security rewards of AI, b) finishing the job in Iran (after the mid-terms), c) taking on the drug cartels and turning Cuba in Latin America. At some point, we will be forced to deal with China's expansionist ambitions, which include Taiwan and the control of internationally critical waterways and technologies. Ideally, we will postpone this confrontation until after we have completed our objectives in the Middle East and Latin America. Giving Xi the international recognition he craves costs us nothing and hopefully will help defer this inevitable confrontation until we are best positioned to deal with it. [more...]

Senate Aging Committee Chairman Makes Bold Prediction on Rx Labeling Laws

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

Chairman Rick Scott (R-FL) of the Senate Aging Committee made a prediction during a hearing on domestic generic drug manufacturing saying that his CLEAR Labels Act will become law this year. The law would require drug makers put the source of their active pharmaceutical ingredients, or APIs – the key active ingredients that make up the final product itself – on the label. As it is, drug companies tend to put nothing on the label, or only where the medicine was distributed and packaged. There is a hope that labeling requirements would be a step in the direction of giving U.S. generic drug manufacturers more preferential treatment, but this would require more acts of Congress, the FDA, or new rules for defense department procurement officers in charge of buying medicine for veteran hospitals. [more...]

DOJ Secures Guilty Pleas for Dozen Non-Citizen Illegal Voters

How Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Became a Digital Influencer

By James Hirsen, NY Times Bestselling Author, International Business Attorney, News Analyst & Cultural Commentator

At a time when content creators are competing for attention through the use of stunts, dance routines, and street brawls, Christianity's most unlikely rising digital star is a man who passed away fourteen years before the first iPhone was released. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, renown philosopher, theologian, and television pioneer, is now officially on a path toward sainthood. What is remarkable is that he has already achieved something quite unlike anything the modern world has seen before; a posthumous social media influencer whose reach is larger now than when he first conquered the airwaves. In language that ordinary folks could understand, an estimated 30 million viewers tuned in weekly to watch a Catholic bishop explain the existence of God, the problem of suffering, and the meaning of sacrifice. He was, by any modern metric, a true influencer. [more...]

Socialist Indoctrination Machine is No Joke

By Ken Buck, Author of Wake Up America!

America has a socialism problem - or a socialism perception problem. A great swath of our country has bought into the lie that socialism can somehow provide a better quality of life, and it owes largely to Democrats' success transforming our education system into an indoctrination machine. It's no secret that higher education has long been a bastion of liberalism. In one recent poll, half of college professors at four-year schools self-identified as liberal, compared to only a quarter who identified as conservative. [more...]

We're Ignoring the Cause of Homelessness and How to Solve It

By Michele Steeb, Homelessness Expert

While we cannot expect every homeless person to become a homeowner, or that every journey will look the same, all people deserve a system that treats them as if they were created to flourish.

Imagine the hundreds of thousands of people who could be strengthening cities like New York, Seattle and Los Angeles had local leaders invested in systems designed to restore lives and cultivate human flourishing, rather than embracing the federal government's Housing First approach adopted in 2013. Housing First made housing placement the primary intervention and measure of success, while removing expectations for treatment, sobriety, employment or progress toward self-sufficiency. In doing so, it too often treated the symptom of homelessness – lack of housing – while leaving the deeper human crises that frequently accompany and perpetuate it unaddressed. [more...]

AI Force, American Future

By Michael Levine, Public Relations Expert, Author of Authentic PR

President Trump's plan to create an "AI Force" and appoint a national artificial intelligence czar, is a smart, proactive move - both in reality and perception. Trump compared the proposed initiative to the U.S. Space Force, although it remains unclear whether the AI Force would operate as a military branch, civilian agency, or government-wide command. Artificial intelligence will transform national defense, business, education, medicine, communications and nearly every corner of American life. The country that leads this revolution will help write the rules of the twenty-first century. America cannot afford to arrive late, be confused or divided. The announcement comes as technology leaders, researchers and lawmakers debate the breathtaking speed of AI development. Some urge a slowdown, while others demand stronger safeguards against fraud, job displacement, misinformation and national-security threats. The president's decision sends an unmistakable message: America intends to compete and win. [more...] ...MORE from Michael: Final Bill for 9/11 Still Unknown

Warsh's Fed Raises Rates

By Todd Sheets, Investment Banker, Economist, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

This past week, Warsh's Fed finally realized the need to realign its interest rates with persistently high inflation. Many Republicans, including the president, may disagree, but it is a paradoxical truth that the Fed Funds rate is too low, and inflation is too high and the soundest way to bring interest rates down in the long run is to increase them now. This will enable the more stable prices that can ensure that future rates are as low as possible. In addition to getting the recent rate increase right, Warsh's efforts to reform the runaway Fed are further evidence that he may well be what we have all been waiting for. Much to his credit, Mr. Warsh resigned from the Fed in 2011 over its ever-expanding attempts to steer the economy. Now, returning as its Chairman, he has set forth on a mission to remove the Fed from the driver's seat of the nation's economy and relegate it to the back seat where it belongs. [more...]

The Unprepared World: How Incretin Therapies are Erasing Our Leading Causes of Death

We are witnessing the greatest public health transition since the invention of municipal water treatment and modern sewage systems. And yet, society is almost completely unprepared for what happens next. In the early 20th century, clean drinking water didn't make human cells immortal; it simply removed cholera, dysentery, and typhoid allowing millions of people who would have died at 35 to reach their natural potential lifespan of 75. Incretins are doing the exact same thing for the 21st century's deadliest non-communicable killers: cardiovascular collapse, fatty liver disease, diabetic renal failure, and peripheral microvascular damage. By removing the primary friction keeping human beings from reaching old age, average life expectancy and more importantly, functional healthspan is about to jump dramatically. [more...] ...MORE from Kerry: Cathie Wood is Right: The New Industrial Revolution is Already Here

There's a lot of media fuss and outrage over the whole thing which no one outside the media cares about. Renewable-Energy Mandates are Actually Bad for Consumers

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

Renewable mandates created demand for solar equipment, but policymakers failed to ensure that this demand would build an American supply chain. Chinese producers captured much of the market while U.S. ratepayers financed deployment. The latest Section 232 policy on polysilicon used in solar supply chains could correct that failure, so long as its benefits are reserved for genuine U.S. producers and not Chinese importing giants. Mandates can encourage deployment, but they can also inflate electricity prices, due to supply-and-demand imbalance, and stimulate imports. [more...]

National Debt Threatens National Security

By Ken Buck, Author of Wake Up America!

This year, the federal debt surpassed $40 trillion for the first time ever, doubling in size in less than a decade. This financial spiral directly affects our military readiness. Today, the U.S. spends more on interest payments to service our debt than it does on national defense. The CBO projects that within 10 years, 25 cents of every dollar of tax revenue will be sucked up by interest expenses. That's money that could be used to pay service members, modernize our fleets, or invest in the new technologies and capabilities necessary to stay ahead of our adversaries - but that instead automatically goes to pay borrowing costs on programs we can't afford. Omar's 'Blame the Accountant' Alibi Won't Add Up

By Michael Levine, Public Relations Expert, Author of Authentic PR

Rep. Ilhan Omar's explanation for major discrepancies in her financial disclosures will fail the public credibility test.

A watchdog group has urged the House Ethics Committee to obtain Omar’s financial records after the Office of Congressional Conduct voted 5-1 to recommend dismissing its investigation. This story will not disappear because a committee wishes it away. In public relations, unanswered questions don't shrink; they grow teeth. Omar needs documents, details and complete transparency. Left's Push to Delay Deporting Illegal-Migrant Criminals Imposes Huge Costs on Taxpayers

By John Lott, President of the Crime Prevention Research Center

Much of today's deportation debate centers on the question of who should count as "criminals" to be immediately sent back to their home countries - with anti-deportation advocates ignoring the huge cost of delay. The Department of Homeland Security claims that 70% of illegal aliens have been convicted or charged with a crime (beyond the immigration violation). At a minimum expense of $150,000 per case, prosecuting all 248,000 would run taxpayers $37.2 billion. At $600,000 or more per case, the total would exceed $148.8 billion. The liberal and libertarian advocates offer no good justification for forcing taxpayers to spend such vast sums - again, at least hundreds of thousands of dollars per illegal immigrant - when the government already has legal authority to deport every one of them. What in the World Should We Do About AI?

By Todd Sheets, Investment Banker, Economist, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

This past week, a 27-year-old researcher at Anthropic quit his job in protest over fear that leading AI companies aren’t doing enough to contain the risks of their rapidly emerging frontier models.  After his departure, a senior executive at the company seconded his concerns and added that he sees a 10% chance AI will wipe out mankind. Within a short time, the on-line post from the young researcher went viral and sparked a fire in the political tinderbox that had begun to form around AI. My thinking on AI has not changed since I first wrote about it. First of all, don’t panic.  Many of the doomsayers are the same people who, not that long ago, were predicting that AI would soon create massive unemployment.  So far, the evidence shows that just the opposite is happening.  [more...] MORE from Todd: The Midterms are a Referendum

If a Nuclear Bomb Hits Your City Tomorrow, Your Evacuation Plan Will Kill You

By Geoffrey Simmons, Community Emergency Response Team, Author of OPPENHEIMER'S DEMON: Nuclear Terror... and the Race to Save a City

Our nation's major metropolitan areas have detailed community response plans for hurricanes, forest fires, and other natural disasters. But in my decades in the field, I have noticed a worrisome gap: pre-disaster community planning for a nuclear event such as a terrorist plot. To fill several gaps in our current level of readiness, the federal government's old civil defense plans, terminated in 1994, need to be resurrected and modernized. Community Emergency Response Teams classes, overseen by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, need to be mandatory in schools. Depending on the community, voluntary participation is not nearly enough. First step: Visit ready.gov and prepare a go bag. [more...]

House Ways & Means Committee Hearing Suggests Critical Minerals Partners Should Get Special Tariff Treatment

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

A recent House Ways & Means Committee hearing on critical minerals had both members and witnesses suggesting that countries the U.S. relies on for these hard-to-mine, harder-to-process minerals be granted trade preferences. That included the possibility of extending the African Growth and Opportunities Act (AGOA) for at least 10 years, granting Kazakhstan permanent normal trade relations, and eliminating the downstream Section 232 metals tariffs to import finished product from Africa. The latter would be highly unpopular with domestic metals producers. [more...]

The W-2 War is Over - Welcome to the 1099 Battlefield

By Kerry Lutz, Founder of the Financial Survival Network, Economist

While cable news commentators scramble to decode the latest Iranian missile salvos, the foreign-policy establishment has reached for its favorite analytical tool: a historical comparison that sounds impressive until you examine it. The comparison du jour is the Tet Offensive. The theory is that Iran is repeating North Vietnam's 1968 strategy - launching a dramatic wave of attacks designed less to achieve a military victory than to break America's political will. It is an interesting comparison. It is also wrong. Tet worked because North Vietnam was a unified country backed by two superpowers and fighting an America that had placed hundreds of thousands of its own troops directly in the line of fire. Iran faces a very different opponent operating under a very different model of warfare. The easiest way to understand it is to forget military jargon for a moment and think about the difference between a W-2 employee and a 1099 contractor. [more...]

China AI Deal Will Work as Well as Nuke Deals Did with USSR

By Daniel Greenfield, CEO of the David Horowitz Freedom Center

Anyone calling for a Chinese AI deal is a useful idiot or a traitor.

The hysteria over AI in political circles is clearly a Chinese op which is why Bernie Sanders is promoting a conference with Chinese AI 'safety experts' and is now rallying with Bannon against AI. Hillary Clinton has now joined in, urging an AI deal with China. Let's be clear, an AI deal with China (or any deal with China) is as worthless as the old nuke deals with the USSR were. Communists don't honor deals. China especially doesn't honor deals. There hasn't been one agreement of any significance with the U.S. that Communist China has honored in good faith. [more...]

Within a short time, the on-line post from the young researcher went viral and sparked a fire in the political tinderbox that had begun to form around AI.  Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei followed up by recommending new global AI regulations to curtail its development.  Sam Altman, the CEO overseeing Chat GPT publicly agreed with these recommendations.

Regulatory Capture

President Trump’s former AI Czar David Sacks has long accused Mr. Amodei of promoting a narrative designed to help Anthropic achieve what’s called Regulatory Capture, which occurs when large companies work with government to limit competition.  Indeed, Anthropic and other frontier model developers would benefit substantially from curtailing the growth of much cheaper open weight models that cost around 90% less to operate and that are already sufficient for a significant share of AI use cases.

The AI Genie and China

As Sacks and others have also pointed out, the AI genie is out of the bottle and, all protestations to the contrary, there will be no containing it.  China (and other foreign countries) will only use the idea of a global regulatory body to try and game the system so that they might catch up and leap frog us.  Given the economic and military stakes at play this is an enormous risk, one that is quite likely substantially higher than other doomsday scenarios.

President Trump, who shares this view, has boiled it all down to: “Whoever wins AI wins”, and he’s right.

A Head Spinning Issue, even for Elon

No less an authority than Elon Musk has been on all sides of this issue.  He co-founded Open AI as a non-profit to help guard against potential risks and later sued its CEO (Sam Altman) to prevent it from transitioning to a private company.  Then, just this past July, Musk gave an interview to The Economist where he said AI is developing too quickly to be contained, in all likelihood it will be enormously beneficial to mankind and, therefore, we might as well just sit back and enjoy the ride.

But then this past week, Mr. Musk seemed to do another about face when he backed Amodei and Altman’s calls to curtail AI development.

What should we do?

My thinking on AI has not changed since I first wrote about it.

First of all, don’t panic.  Many of the doomsayers are the same people who, not that long ago, were predicting that AI would soon create massive unemployment.  So far, the evidence shows that just the opposite is happening.

Further, statements from industry insiders that put a 10% probability on total extinction are totally irresponsible.  They have no idea how this will actually play out, and their probability estimates only add a false sense of certainty to their claims.

The fact is, the Genie is out of the AI bottle and the potential economic and military benefits are so enormous it will not be put back in.  Ceding leadership to China or any other foreign country or actor would be a huge mistake, one that could materially alter our future.

Many have talked about a regulatory body of experts to oversee and control AI – but this is a false promise.  The only people with the knowledge and expertise needed to oversee this fast developing and cutting edge technology are the leaders at the AI companies themselves.  In fact, no one has more to gain or lose, than these leaders.  Whether they like it or not, it is their responsibility to develop safe programs that benefit their clients (who are ultimately paying for its development) and to develop the systems that can protect their products and their clients from hostile systems created by bad actors.

If they don’t think they are up to this job, they should cede control of their companies to leaders who are.

AI companies may well need to pause development of certain models as they take the time to create protections for their current and prospective clients.  But ceding this authority to ill-advised political bodies would inevitably lead to either uninformed regulations with dangerous and unintended consequences, regulatory capture, or systems that are intentionally gamed by foreign actors seeking their own benefit.  Further, there is the risk that too much government control will lead to uniform AI models trained with biases that reflect the views of the regime in power, just as we saw during Covid and as we see on a daily basis in authoritarian countries.

Modern history is filled with failed doomsday prophecies ranging from nuclear annihilation, to warnings that an inevitable population bomb would lead to mass starvations, to fears that Y2K would cause computer dysfunctions that would cause to airplanes to fall from the sky, and that global warming would doom mankind.  Each of these theories was supported by no shortage of highly educated “experts” and other influential observers.

For nearly 6 million years now, mankind and our ancestors have not only managed to survive, but to thrive.  Today’s living standards are far superior to what any prior generation has known and there is every reason to believe that AI will help produce the next major leap forward in human flourishing.

Put simply: all of human history is on our side.

The Screenshot That Pulled the Plug - Maria Bartiromo's Fox Exit

By Michael Levine, Public Relations Expert, Author of Authentic PR

Maria Bartiromo’s departure from Fox News offers a lesson about trust, judgment, and the line between journalism and political advocacy. Fox News has described Bartiromo's exit after more than 12 years as a "business decision," without disclosing a reason. However, media reports, citing sources familiar with the matter, say the anchor wanted to pursue a story involving China and conspiracy theories surrounding the 2020 presidential election - a sensitive subject for Fox because of its Dominion settlement and Smartmatic litigation. According to those reports, a Fox Business executive texted producers that the proposed story could not air. Bartiromo allegedly captured a screenshot of that direction and forwarded it to White House officials. Network leaders learned of the disclosure after receiving a call from the White House and viewed the alleged breach of confidential editorial guidance as grounds for firing. The media lesson is clear: credibility takes decades to build, one screenshot to fracture, and almost no time at all to lose. [more...]

The Befuddling Case of Rising Interest Rates

By Todd Sheets, Investment Banker, Economist, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

A Wall Street Journal article nicely summarized current attempts to explain rising interest rates: "There are four forces pressuring bonds: war is no. 1; fiscal worries, a new Federal Reserve chairman and even the flood of AI bonds are helping drive the recent climb in yields." Yikes! It's enough to make you think that if the war and debts don't tank us, AI and our new Fed chair surely will! [more...]

After 19th Subway Push, NY AG Vows to Castrate Kids

By Daniel Greenfield, CEO of the David Horowitz Freedom Center

In the latest grim milestone under Mamdani, the 19th person was pushed onto the subway tracks so far this year. New York's pro-crime AG Letitia James is however busy investigating the police officers who shot a knife-wielding psycho who had just murdered a woman and is vowing to make sure kids continue to be castrated. "I want transgender youth and all New Yorkers to know I've got your back. I will fight to stop the federal government from taking away the care New Yorkers rely on," James complained over a rule blocking Medicaid funds from being used for castrating kids to make them transgender. The Radical Stupidity of Modern Antisemitism

By Judd Dunning, Talk Show Host, Newsmax Columnist

The stupidity of antisemitism has no merit. It is simply bigotry, one of mankind's oldest, ugliest and most irrational hatreds. There is nothing intellectually interesting about judging a person because he or she is Jewish, just as there is nothing intellectually defensible about judging an entire race, religion or ethnicity by the sins, politics or actions of somebody else who shares that identity. Yet somehow, in supposedly sophisticated America, antisemitism has again acquired an ideological costume that allows people who would never tolerate open racial prejudice against almost anyone else to rationalize their hatred of Jews as politics. Supreme Court Just Gave Mail-In Ballot Safeguards a Chance

By John Lott, President of the Crime Prevention Research Center

The Supreme Court's decision to stay the injunction blocking President Trump's March executive order on mail-in ballots gives voters something they are clamoring for: greater confidence in election integrity. A new Rasmussen Reports survey finds that, by a 52% to 34% margin, likely voters say the government has not done enough to prevent election cheating. Even more striking, voters say by nearly two to one that widespread cheating is likely to affect the outcome of this fall's congressional elections. [more...]

Blue State's Green Energy Push Threatens Iconic 'Sacred' Food Source

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

When the Trump administration moved in January 2025 to pause new offshore-wind leasing and review federal wind permits, it cited, among other things, the need to protect marine life and maintain "a robust fishing industry for future generations." The pause offered Massachusetts and federal regulators a chance to reconsider whether industrial construction belongs near one of the region's most important marine habitats: Cox's Ledge. Instead, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell celebrated in June when Democratic-appointed federal judges invalidated the Trump administration’s wind-permitting pause. [more...]

The Radical Girl Next Door

By Prof. Janice Fiamengo, Author of The Goddess That Failed: Feminism's Unending War against Men, Families, and Civilization Itself

Gloria Steinem was the beautiful face of an ugly ideology.

Following her death last Wednesday at age 92, Gloria Steinem has been described as "a woman who mattered," "a feminist icon," and even "the personification of the women's movement." Despite her modern style and reassuring demeanor, there was nothing "compassionate" or humane about Steinem's vision. Rooted in revolutionary cant about men objectifying women, and dedicated to the subversion of marriage and motherhood, it was socially and culturally poisonous. Perhaps more than any other feminist leader, Steinem promised liberation and fulfillment for both men and women while delivering the sterile narcissism of today's feminist culture. [more...]

The Cybercab Just Landed - and I Think We're Watching History Bend

By Kerry Lutz, Founder of the Financial Survival Network, Economist

September 3, 2026, Tesla pulled the sheet off the production of Cybercab in Austin. Two seats. No steering wheel. No pedals. Built from the ground up to drive itself, full stop. It’s easy to scroll past a headline like that in between the gold charts and the Fed watch, but I don't think this is just another product launch; I think it's an **inflection point** - one of those rare moments where the direction of an entire industry, and honestly a big piece of how we live our daily lives, quietly bends onto a new path. [more...]
