John Lott: An Elaborate Hoax by a Gun Control Organization

The School That Wasn't There

By Dr. John Lott

I drove 950 miles to give a commencement address. It was an elaborate hoax by a gun control organization.

On May 14, I received a call from a man who identified himself as Jordan Simon, board chairman of James Madison Academy, a Las Vegas-based online high school with 2,000 graduating students. Mr. Simon told me students and faculty had picked me to be their commencement speaker.

I looked up the school and found a professional website (JamesMadisonAcademy.net no longer exists) featuring photos of smiling students and detailed descriptions of the school and teachers.

Mr. Simon offered to cover my travel expenses and pay a small honorarium. Since there were no direct flights from Missoula, Mont., where I live, and Las Vegas, he even offered to charter a plane to fly me down. That seemed excessive, so I drove. I wanted to save the school money and visit friends in Idaho on the way.

Here is the story of the elaborate hoax by a gun control organization. If I had done this to a gun control organization, where I refused to release the original video, I suspect that the media would have reacted very differently... [more...]

If Republican Voting Reforms are 'Anti-Democratic,' All of Europe is 'Anti-Democratic'

By Dr. John Lott

Democrats are pushing to remove identification requirements for voting, replacing voter ID rules with a sworn statement of self-identification. The new act seeks to make permanent the mail-in ballot voting of the pandemic. The mailing out of blank absentee ballots would become a fixture of American elections. The House already passed the "For the People Act of 2021," and the Senate takes it up today. To study this, the Crime Prevention Research Center, of which I am the president, created a database on voting rules worldwide. Take the 47 countries in Europe. Forty-six already require government-issued photo voter IDs to vote. [more...]

Ohio - The Trump Paradox

By Judd Dunning

At his first rally since leaving the White House, a clear and dynamic Donald Trump excoriated Joe Biden. While Trump energized Republicans to take back Congress next year, a much deeper nexus was forming. "As Ohio goes, so goes the nation" was decimated in 2020. Many other trusted statistical election norms aberrantly failed in Biden’s contaminated election. Trust in election traditions were lost. Trump wisely chose Ohio to resume the fight to return America to its time-trusted democratic norms. After Saturday, Ohio now shines as a new symbol of the possibility of future legal elections. It was the ideal 'ground zero' to begin the counter-insurgence on the left’s ideological propaganda war against American rationality. [more...]

Technocracy - Follow the Money, Follow the Power

By Patrick Wood

A recent infographic published by The Visual Capitalist displayed the stock market capitalization of the largest companies in the world. While critics often take aim at companies like Proctor & Gamble, Pfizer, Merck & Co., Walt Disney, Nike, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, etc., these pale in comparison to the top 6 companies, all of which are run by top global Technocrats. The top six are all based in the United States while Tencent is located in China. In this sense, the U.S. rules, China drools. In another sense, it is noteworthy that the bulk of Technocrat tools of dominance have been invented in the U.S. (by these same companies) and then spread to other nations. By following the money, we are also following the data. [more...]

CRT is Destroying the Democrats

By Steve Turley

Many people were outraged to hear about the attention-seeking Olympic hammer thrower who turned away from the American flag during the playing of the national anthem over the weekend. During the recent Olympic trials, Gwen Berry, who just qualified for her second U.S. Olympic team, actually said that she was 'pissed' that the Star-Spangled Banner played as she received her third-place bronze medal. As it was playing, she turned to face the stands rather than the flag and held up a black shirt that read 'Activist Athlete.' The backlash against this has been swift and intense. Kathy Tavoularis, a Republican operative, said it best: "Perhaps it's time we turned our backs on her!" And that's precisely what many people are saying, at least in terms of their sentiment. If this woke fanatic has the gall to turn her back on the nation that's giving her this fantastic Olympic opportunity, then perhaps we collectively, as the citizens of that nation, should turn our backs on her. [more...]

Can Liberals Learn about Freedom from Britney Spears?

By Karen Kataline

Britney Spears is 39 years old and is still under the thumb of her father. Her life has not been her own for the last 13 years since she has been under a conservatorship so strict that she is not allowed to marry or have kids without permission. Wherever there's enough power and money to be made, greedy busybodies come out of the woodwork and regularly claim, "I'm concerned about you!" to cover their true intent. Does any of this sound familiar?  It sounds a lot like the hubris of today's Left and their perpetual attempts to gain increasing control over our lives. They have been doing this for decades under the guise of faux compassion. The loss of liberty touches some people when they see it in one situation but not so much in others. Britney isn't the only adult over the age of 21 who needs to be liberated. So do the American people. [more...]

Jerry Jenkins - 'Left Behind' May Be 'Pretty Close'

By James Hirsen

Jerry Jenkins is one of the most successful authors of our time. Best known for the "Left Behind" series, co-authored by Tim LaHaye, the set of End Times tomes quickly rose over the years to cultural phenom heights, awarding it the virtual status of a household name. Gifted with the art of dramatic storytelling, Jenkins and LaHaye were able to take their humble talents and combine them with the ministry of Bible prophecy. [more...]

Stephen C. Meyer: Do Intelligent Aliens Exist in the Cosmos?

Sorry UFO/UAP Enthusiasts: God, Not Aliens, Better Explains the Origin of Life on Earth

By Stephen C. Meyer, University of Cambridge-trained philosopher of science and New York Times bestselling author

The U.S. Navy is set to release its report on UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) this coming Friday, June 25th. The Navy's announcement is unlikely to settle the controversy about whether intelligent aliens exist somewhere else in the cosmos. Pre-publication leaks about the content of the report confirm that it contains "no evidence to link them [UAP sightings] 'to any putative alien visitation.'"

Nevertheless, many leading scientists have in recent years been forced to propose that an alien intelligence "seeded" life on earth in order to explain how life first came to be on our planet.

Both evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins and the late Francis Crick, for example, have proposed this theory - known as panspermia - to explain how life with its "signature of intelligence" first originated on Earth. Crick, the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA, explained why he thought it necessary to resort to such a theory. "An honest man armed with all the knowledge available to us now, could only state that ... the origin of life appears at the moment to be almost a miracle, so many are the conditions which would have had to have been satisfied to get it going," says Crick.

In my book Return of the GOD Hypothesis: Three Discoveries that Reveal the Mind Behind the Universe, I cast profound doubt on this explanation. [more...]

A Racist Training Program for the U.S. Navy

By David Horowitz

As he assumed the office of Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Michael Gilday announced that he wanted to change the Navy. While the title of his remarks in this video was: "One Team, One Navy," its actual message was racist and divisive. His bottom line: only "conversations" about race would help. The "conversations" he referred to were in fact a lecture from America's most popular and fact-challenged racist du jour, Ibram X. Kendi. The "conversation" included "shared" videos of naval personnel claiming that America was racist and that they were angry. "Being African-American in America is not fun," an aviation technician claimed, especially no doubt for a two-term African-American president who pocketed $100 million for the skillful exploitation of his public office. Please Stop Saying 'Socialism Doesn't Work'

By Karen Kataline

How many times have you heard conservatives say, "Socialism has never worked anywhere it has been tried." Conservative pundits rattle off that line because they've heard so many others say it. Of all the arguments against socialism, this is by far, the weakest. There are drugs that "work" too, but they kill the patient. What's more, what exactly does "work" mean?  Doesn't that assume that the proponents actually want to help rather than subjugate the masses? They have continually expressed contempt for America with their words and actions, yet they say they have more compassion than anyone else and that's why we need their "help." Just because they succeed in advancing their socialist/communist policies by telling the masses that it's "for your own good," or "the common good," doesn't make it true. Regardless, the level of arrogance and narcissism that is required to make such a claim ought to be immediately suspect. [more...]

The Mad World of Tyranny - Technopopulism Enables the Very Thing it Hates

By Patrick Wood

President Trump was championed by the populist movement in the U.S. and turned to technocrats like Anthony Fauci to "fix" the COVID crisis. He turned to technocrats to railroad the 5G rollout throughout the nation. He turned to technocrats to fuel rapid smart city investments with tax legislation that provided for Opportunity Zones from coast to coast. Now, the Biden administration has pulled out all the stops and is rushing full-throttle into technocracy. This is in no way a criticism of President Trump as an individual. He might well have been the pinnacle of populist thinking. Nevertheless, populists are the moth; technocracy is the flame. [more...]

One-Party New York and Crime

By Seth Barron

With crime soaring and the quality of life plummeting, one would expect candidates in New York to run on restoring law and order. But, in line with a seemingly inexorable national pattern, most of the candidates want to keep as many people out of jail as possible, even for serious crimes. In cities across the country, a coordinated effort is afoot to decriminalize supposed "crimes of poverty," which means non-prosecution of "low-level offenses" that result from addiction, homelessness, or being poor. A tough-on-crime candidate could run a no-nonsense campaign advocating for victims and safer streets, of course. But the nature of the Democratic primary system is that anyone who runs even slightly to the right of the field gets cast as a right-winger. Seth's new book: The Last Days of New York. [more...]

Kevin Hart Takes on the Cancel Culture

By James Hirsen

It was refreshing when Kevin Hart recently made the decision to weigh in on cancel culture. He made headlines for remarks made during an interview with the British Sunday Times. "When did we get to a point where life was supposed to be perfect? Where people were supposed to operate perfectly all the time?" Hart asked. "I don't understand. I don't expect perfection from my kids. I don't expect it from my wife, friends, employees. Because, last I checked, the only way you grow up is from [screwing] up. I don't know a kid who hasn't [messed] up or done some dumb [things]." According to Hart, because comics are too afraid of being cancelled, comedic arts have suffered a severe blow. [more...]

Is Trump Staging a 'Coup?'

By Steve Turley

The new Patriot Party is paving the way for what looks like will be an epic comeback in 2024. The Epoch Times summed it up best: President Trump was supposed to be an historical footnote at this point. He's supposed to be utterly destroyed, completely irrelevant, so radioactive nobody will go near him. But not only is Trump not sulking in private in utter disgrace, he's now exerting more direct control over the GOP than he ever did when he was in the White House. And if he does run and win in 2024, he's going to be able to implement his 'America first' agenda stronger and better than ever. [more...]

After de Blasio, NYC Must Elect a Crime-Fighting Mayor to Avoid Disaster

By Seth Barron

The stakes in the mayoral election could not be higher for the future of New York City. Either New Yorkers choose to reverse the city's dismal downward direction by saying "No way" to filth, discord and mayhem, or we see more shootings and thuggish brutality accompanied by the further hollowing out of the tax base as people flee. The choice is that stark.

Mayor Bill de Blasio inherited a prosperous, safe city and, along with his progressive colleagues, RUINED IT. Even in the '70s and '80s, the legendary "bad old days," New York still had the foundations of a successful city. It had laws on the books that could quell disorder and make neighborhoods happy and functional - they just didn't enforce them effectively.

But the criminal justice "reforms" of the last eight years have vitiated our system of enforcing the law and punishing criminals. These changes have codified chaos. Mayor de Blasio decided not to fight a judge's flawed ruling that NYPD practices, including "Stop, Question, and Frisk," were unconstitutional, and instead voluntarily placed the police department under the supervision of a federal monitor.

This election is critical, as the city is peering into its own grave. Certain candidates continue to repeat the calumny that police violence is the major problem facing New Yorkers. These people must not be allowed near City Hall. Choose wisely. Seth's new book: The Last Days of New York. [more...]

NYC is Rotting

By Seth Barron

Here's the problem in New York City - it's that the progressives, over the last eight years, have codified chaos. They've changed the laws to the extent that even if we got a really strong law-and-order mayor who came into office (like a Giuliani), there's a lot that he wouldn't be able to do. Progressive reforms have made the city virtually unlivable. New York's bail reform at the state level has made it so criminals are almost instantly released, even if they've committed violent crimes. They've decriminalized public urination, littering, jumping the turnstiles, smoking pot... so the quality of life has deteriorated heavily. The police are the ones that have been handcuffed in New York. Essentially, the police are on guard, and they know that there's not that much they can do, and if they do anything, they can get in a lot of trouble for it. Seth's new book: The Last Days of New York. [more...]

20 Questions the Left Should Be Asked - But Will Never Answer

Fauci Likens Science to God, Himself as Priest

By Patrick Wood

Dr. Anthony Fauci is now in full defensive mode as critics are responding to the trove of emails recently secured by a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. It is a desperate attempt to salvage his public reputation and trust. Chances are he will never see either again in his lifetime. As a dyed-in-the-wool Technocrat, Fauci has a warped perception of reality. Much of what he considers science is, in fact, pseudo-science. In other words, FAKE. Yes, of course, we readily attack fake science, as we should. But we also attack liars and manipulators who abuse their position of influence and trust to abuse their subjects. [more...]

How HBO Max Went Woke and Broke on BLM

By Daniel Greenfield

While HBO Max pulled and then restored "Gone with the Wind" over its "racial prejudices" complete with a disclaimer lecture, and Turner Classic Movies, owned by Warner Bros, launched a series condemning classic movies like "Breakfast at Tiffany’s" (Mickey Rooney's buck teeth), "My Fair Lady" (misogyny), and "Psycho" (transphobia), it promotes the worst possible hatred of white people with million-dollar contracts and massive billboards. In the rush to elevate anyone shouting about the evils of white people, HBO Max is littered with basement garbage that looks like the work of college students laboring on public access TV. While all of its big streaming platforms rivals invested in black nationalist narratives to varying degrees, none did so as belatedly, futilely, and relentlessly as HBO Max which threw away its brand and its future. Like so many other companies, after the woke comes the broke. [more...]

White Progressives Can Never Be Woke Enough

By Mark Tapson

In a guest essay for the New York Times earlier this month, actor Tom Hanks apologized for his contribution as a filmmaker to erasing black history from American consciousness. But in an essay last weekend titled "Tom Hanks is a Non-Racist. It's Time for Him to Be Anti-Racist," National Public Radio (NPR) TV critic Eric Deggans griped that Hanks's confessional "is not enough." His film work has too often "focused on the achievements of virtuous white, male Americans," making it "tougher for tales about atrocities such as Tulsa to find similar space." It won't much matter what Tom Hanks, movie star, does, because nothing will ever be enough. [more...]
