Gun-Free Zones are a Magnet for Mass Public Shootings

By John Lott, Worldwide Expert on Guns & Crime

This past weekend, we saw mass shootings in Australia where at least 15 were murdered and at Brown University where two were murdered and nine injured. Both occurred in places with strict gun control. The problem is that uniformed law enforcement has an extremely difficult time stopping these attacks. If a shooter sees an officer in uniform, they can wait for the officer to leave before they attack or move to another target. If they do attack there, the first person they will shoot is the officer. The problem is that gun-free zones are a magnet for mass public shootings. In the U.S., civilians with concealed handguns stop these attacks more frequently, and they stop them more successfully in places where they are allowed to carry. Note: the worst mass public shooting in Western Europe and the U.S. was in Paris in late 2015, where Islamic terrorists murdered 130 people at a concert. [more...]

Bondi Beach Attack on Hanukkah Sparks Global Call for Moral Clarity Against Extremist Ideology

By Rabbi Daniel Schonbuch

The violent attack at Bondi Beach in Australia during the Jewish festival of Hanukkah has sent shockwaves through Jewish communities worldwide and raised urgent questions about the growing threat of extremist ideology targeting the moral foundations of Western society. The timing of the attack - during Hanukkah, a holiday commemorating Jewish survival against forces seeking to eradicate Jewish faith and values - has intensified concern that the incident was not merely random violence, but part of a broader ideological pattern. Jewish leaders, faith communities, and civil society voices are calling for greater honesty in confronting doctrines that openly promote violence against Jews and Christians. [more...]

Growth, Affordability and Immigration

By Todd Sheets, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

The recent run bookended by Mamdani's victory in New York and, for the first time in nearly 30 years, a new Democratic mayor in Miami, is probably telling us that, at the very least, the political winds have shifted, at least for the time being. Notably, Eileen Higgins attributed her Miami win to affordability and immigration. These issues, and the ever-critical economy, are good places to start in reflecting on what's driving voters as we close out year one of Trump 2.0. [more...]

Three Americans Just Died for Syria

By Daniel Greenfield, CEO of the David Horowitz Freedom Center

...And for Qatar, Turkey and Muslim 'nation-building'

We were told it was never going to happen. It just happened. Two American soldiers, members of the Iowa National Guard, and a civilian interpreter were killed in a Muslim terrorist attack. The official press release states that this was an attack by an ISIS terrorist. The Trump administration press release claims that the Al Qaeda "President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, is extremely angry and disturbed by this attack" and that it took place "in a very dangerous part of Syria, that is not fully controlled by them." [more...]

Paris Surrenders, Cancels New Year's Eve Celebrations

By Robert Spencer, Author of Holy Hell: Islam's Abuse of Women and the Infidels Who Enable It

Since the 1960s, Paris has held a lavish New Year's Eve celebration on the Champs-Élysées, the wide avenue that epitomizes the grandeur, pride, and glorious history of the city and the French nation as a whole. That's why it's all the more disturbing that the cheese-eating surrender monkeys are at it again, preemptively waving the white flag and canceling the New Year's Eve celebrations this year in view of the high probability of an Islamic jihad terror attack. The French authorities' desire to prevent a jihad massacre is laudable, but is erasing their own customs and traditions the way to do it? [more...]

The Left is Still Laser-Focused on "Radically Transforming" America

By Michael Finch, Author of A TIME TO STAND: The Dire Hour to Defend American Beauty

Does it matter if we are learning of the greatness of American culture? We are all now sadly aware that, in the infamous words of Barack Obama, the Left is seeking to "radically transform the United States of America." For them to build their new heaven on earth, and attain their fantasized utopia, they must burn down the house, erase the past and wipe it clean. In their retelling, America's birthday no longer is 1776, but 1619. Columbus came to this new land to execute a genocide. America is imperialistic, racist, and sexist, and these sins are baked into its founding. Hence their creation of a self-loathing iteration of American history and culture that infects so many of our citizens. The culture and history of America matter deeply. When we don’t recognize the greatness of our culture and history, when we are taught to hate our own history and myths and stories, then we fracture, we balkanize. We fall apart. [more...]
