Gun control laws disproportionately harm minorities, women, and the poor - the people who benefit most from being able to protect themselves.

In a major shakeup at the U.S. Department of Justice, the Trump administration last week created the Second Amendment Rights Section within the Civil Rights Division. Under the leadership of Harmeet K. Dhillon, the division has already moved quickly to challenge gun-control laws, opening an investigation into allegations that the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department slow-walked approvals for concealed-carry permits. The move signals a dramatic shift welcomed by those who support gun ownership, but it has provoked strong opposition from critics who claim the division is straying from its traditional civil-rights mission - typically focused on racism, excessive force, and discrimination. [more...]

Does it matter if we are learning of the greatness of American culture? We are all now sadly aware that, in the infamous words of Barack Obama, the Left is seeking to "radically transform the United States of America." For them to build their new heaven on earth, and attain their fantasized utopia, they must burn down the house, erase the past and wipe it clean. In their retelling, America's birthday no longer is 1776, but 1619. Columbus came to this new land to execute a genocide. America is imperialistic, racist, and sexist, and these sins are baked into its founding. Hence their creation of a self-loathing iteration of American history and culture that infects so many of our citizens. The culture and history of America matter deeply. When we don’t recognize the greatness of our culture and history, when we are taught to hate our own history and myths and stories, then we fracture, we balkanize. We fall apart. [more...]

College and the Entitlement Mentality

If you go to college and are taught that you have to work hard to get good grades in fields that will lead to jobs where the college premium will more than offset the cost of the education, things are likely to work out well for you. In fact, this is pretty much how college worked until the last couple of decades. But if you go to school and learn you don't have to work hard and that your degree more or less entitles you to a better life, then you've basically been set up for failure and disillusionment. Of course, if you are also taught that any such failure should be blamed on America and its founding ideals, and not your dysfunctional education, then you may well have also been radicalized into thinking the solution lies in overthrowing many of our founding principles. It's Time to End the Gaza Ceasefire Lie

There's no ceasefire and moving to the next phase will make it worse.

Apart from returning some bodies, Hamas has done nothing to comply with the ceasefire. It has continued launching attacks. Israel - in response - has struck Hamas, which has made it clear that it will not disarm. Qatar, which negotiated the fake 'ceasefire,' backed up the demands of its Hamas proxy at the Doha Forum, for a complete Israeli withdrawal until Hamas does anything. (And then Hamas won't do anything anyway.) The Muslim countries that were supposed to form the international force that was going to disarm Hamas and police Gaza have made it abundantly clear that they won't disarm Hamas or police Gaza. The timing of the release of this book couldn't be more consequential. Did you know that the Jewish faith and scriptures form the deep foundation for American commitment to religious liberty... and the inscription on the Liberty Bell was taken from Leviticus 25:10 in the Hebrew Bible, saying "Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof." At a time when anti-Semitism has skyrocketed in the United States, it is important to remember the unique historic bond that America has with the Jewish faith and the Jewish people, extending back to their shared Biblical heritage.
