The
U.S.-China Trade War Isn't Cooling; It's Just Getting Started
By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America
The
China trade war is escalating. Or is it? We have until Nov. 10 to know for
sure. That is when Trump's and Xi's 90-day pause to tariff escalation ends.
How's it going as we approach the deadline? Well, on Friday President Trump
said China was about to get whacked with 100% tariffs after Halloween. Trump
completely changed his tune on Sunday. He is playing the role of both good cop
and bad cop, a role he has down pat. He suggested cooler heads will
prevail in China and the U.S. All is well! "Highly respected Xi
Jinping just had a bad day," Trump said on the Truth Social
platform he created. Calm down, everybody. (And, at that, the market rose on
Monday.) Is it really OK? [more...]
Is
the USA Destined to Become the United Socialists of America?
By Greg Rabidoux, Award-Winning Filmmaker, Author & Cultural Commentator
...or is Socialism an acquired, elite taste to sample in only our largest cities like Chicago or NYC?
Darned
if we don't all keep reliving history over and over again - Marxism versus
Capitalism... Lenin versus Madison… Mao versus Washington. It doesn't seem to
matter how many times socialism and communism fail - or how many countries
slide right into totalitarian societies after their "can't miss"
socialism fails. Russia, Venezuela, Cuba, China. Or how allowing unregulated
immigration while giving every newcomer free stuff, while demonizing free
markets, while worshipping imposed equity, all the while taxing innovation and
wealth to death causes once proud, strong nations to spiral into mediocrity.
The UK. France. Germany. Finland, Sweden. Switzerland. Spain. Are we destined
to be next? [more...]
Hostages and Hope(?) In
the Middle East
By Todd Sheets, Author of 2008: What Really Happened
Last
Friday, a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas went into effect. On
Monday, the remaining living Israeli hostages were finally released into the
waiting arms of a country wondering if they would ever see their loved ones
again. In the days since, even some of the most hardened Israeli historians
have commented that this agreement might actually lead to long-term peace.
However, even as these sentiments were being expressed, Hamas resorted to
brutally murdering leaders of other Palestinian groups that threatened its
control over Gaza; some were publicly executed, others hung from lampposts. So,
what are we to make of these developments? [more...]
What
the Stats Really Say About Crime Surge
By John Lott, Worldwide Expert on Guns & Crime
During
last year's presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Trump
said violent crime was rising. ABC moderator David Muir immediately
fact-checked him, claiming, "President Trump, as you know, the FBI
says overall violent crime is coming down in this country..." Nearly every
major media outlet echoed that narrative. National Public
Radio ran the headline, "Violent crime is dropping fast in the
U.S. - even if Americans don't believe it." The Wall Street Journal declared,
"Violent Crime Rate Falls Sharply After Pandemic Surge." Vox insisted,
"Violent crime is plummeting." Axios reported, "New
data shows violent crime dropping sharply in major U.S. cities." However,
a new Bureau of Justice Statistics report, which includes data through
2024, shows that Trump was right during the debate... [more...]
Mamdani's
Terror Mosque Called for Taking Over America
By Daniel Greenfield, CEO of the Horowitz Freedom Center
"You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam."
After Zohran Mamdani castigated Cuomo for not visiting a mosque,
he showed him how it was done by visiting the Al-Taqwa Mosque and posing
smilingly with its Jihadist Imam Siraj Wahhaj. Mamdani, running to be NYC's
first Muslim mayor, had already visited a great many mosques, some, like the
Islamic Society of Bay Ridge, already notorious for its support for Hamas and
cursing Christians and Jews, but had saved the worst mosque for last. The
progressive candidate openly embraced an imam who not only supported terrorism
but had called for the full application of Islamic Sharia law "If Allah
says cut off their hand, you cut off their hand..." [more...]

Housing
Without Healing Won't Cure Homelessness
By Michele Steeb, Discovery Institute's Fix Homelessness Initiative
Homelessness
in California - and across America - has reached a breaking point. The crisis
has climbed to the highest level ever recorded, even as billions more are
poured into housing subsidies and bureaucratic programs that promise compassion
but deliver only despair. No one bears the consequences more cruelly than the
homeless themselves. Their death rate has soared by 77% in the country's
largest urban areas, a devastating indictment of a system that prioritizes
housing units over human healing. President Trump's recent executive order
marks the first real course correction in over a decade. By directing federal
funds toward treatment, recovery and accountability, it recenters homeless
policy on a recognition that lasting change requires addressing the root causes
of homelessness: addiction, mental illness and broken lives in need of
structure and care. [more...]
The
Dangers of AI Companions
By James Hirsen, NY Times Bestselling Author, International Business Attorney, News Analyst & Cultural Commentator
These
days it seems that people of all ages are turning to chatbots to satisfy some
of their most fundamental human needs, especially conversational interactions,
friendship connections, and romantic courtships. Those who regularly engage
with chatbots may or may not realize that they may actually be forfeiting
genuine connections in exchange for digital illusions. Emerging research is
sounding the alarm about the dangers of human-AI interaction. [more...]
