We're Ignoring the Cause of Homelessness and How to Solve It

By Michele Steeb, Homelessness Expert

While we cannot expect every homeless person to become a homeowner, or that every journey will look the same, all people deserve a system that treats them as if they were created to flourish.

Imagine the hundreds of thousands of people who could be strengthening cities like New York, Seattle and Los Angeles had local leaders invested in systems designed to restore lives and cultivate human flourishing, rather than embracing the federal government's Housing First approach adopted in 2013. Housing First made housing placement the primary intervention and measure of success, while removing expectations for treatment, sobriety, employment or progress toward self-sufficiency. In doing so, it too often treated the symptom of homelessness – lack of housing – while leaving the deeper human crises that frequently accompany and perpetuate it unaddressed. [more...]

AI Force, American Future

By Michael Levine, Public Relations Expert, Author of Authentic PR

President Trump's plan to create an "AI Force" and appoint a national artificial intelligence czar, is a smart, proactive move - both in reality and perception. Trump compared the proposed initiative to the U.S. Space Force, although it remains unclear whether the AI Force would operate as a military branch, civilian agency, or government-wide command. Artificial intelligence will transform national defense, business, education, medicine, communications and nearly every corner of American life. The country that leads this revolution will help write the rules of the twenty-first century. America cannot afford to arrive late, be confused or divided. The announcement comes as technology leaders, researchers and lawmakers debate the breathtaking speed of AI development. Some urge a slowdown, while others demand stronger safeguards against fraud, job displacement, misinformation and national-security threats. The president's decision sends an unmistakable message: America intends to compete and win. [more...] ...MORE from Michael: Final Bill for 9/11 Still Unknown

Warsh's Fed Raises Rates

By Todd Sheets, Investment Banker, Economist, Author of 2008: What Really Happened

This past week, Warsh's Fed finally realized the need to realign its interest rates with persistently high inflation. Many Republicans, including the president, may disagree, but it is a paradoxical truth that the Fed Funds rate is too low, and inflation is too high and the soundest way to bring interest rates down in the long run is to increase them now. This will enable the more stable prices that can ensure that future rates are as low as possible. In addition to getting the recent rate increase right, Warsh's efforts to reform the runaway Fed are further evidence that he may well be what we have all been waiting for. Much to his credit, Mr. Warsh resigned from the Fed in 2011 over its ever-expanding attempts to steer the economy. Now, returning as its Chairman, he has set forth on a mission to remove the Fed from the driver's seat of the nation's economy and relegate it to the back seat where it belongs. [more...]

The Unprepared World: How Incretin Therapies are Erasing Our Leading Causes of Death

We are witnessing the greatest public health transition since the invention of municipal water treatment and modern sewage systems. And yet, society is almost completely unprepared for what happens next. In the early 20th century, clean drinking water didn't make human cells immortal; it simply removed cholera, dysentery, and typhoid allowing millions of people who would have died at 35 to reach their natural potential lifespan of 75. Incretins are doing the exact same thing for the 21st century's deadliest non-communicable killers: cardiovascular collapse, fatty liver disease, diabetic renal failure, and peripheral microvascular damage. By removing the primary friction keeping human beings from reaching old age, average life expectancy and more importantly, functional healthspan is about to jump dramatically. [more...] ...MORE from Kerry: Cathie Wood is Right: The New Industrial Revolution is Already Here

Network News Trump Boycott Might Matter If Anyone Watched Network News

By Daniel Greenfield, CEO of the David Horowitz Freedom Center

ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox and NBC have announced that they're suspending pool coverage after President Trump banned CNN, MSNBC (MSNOW) and Politico. There's a lot of media fuss and outrage over the whole thing which no one outside the media cares about. The media is now running stories bragging about how they cut off Trump from media coverage because they're not doing the pool anymore. Someone may want to mention to them that the year is 2026 and all that's really needed to capture usable audio and video is a phone. [more...]

Renewable-Energy Mandates are Actually Bad for Consumers

By Kenneth Rapoza, Reporter/Columnist for Coalition for a Prosperous America

Renewable mandates created demand for solar equipment, but policymakers failed to ensure that this demand would build an American supply chain. Chinese producers captured much of the market while U.S. ratepayers financed deployment. The latest Section 232 policy on polysilicon used in solar supply chains could correct that failure, so long as its benefits are reserved for genuine U.S. producers and not Chinese importing giants. Mandates can encourage deployment, but they can also inflate electricity prices, due to supply-and-demand imbalance, and stimulate imports. [more...]

National Debt Threatens National Security

By Ken Buck, Author of Wake Up America!

This year, the federal debt surpassed $40 trillion for the first time ever, doubling in size in less than a decade. This financial spiral directly affects our military readiness. Today, the U.S. spends more on interest payments to service our debt than it does on national defense. The CBO projects that within 10 years, 25 cents of every dollar of tax revenue will be sucked up by interest expenses. That's money that could be used to pay service members, modernize our fleets, or invest in the new technologies and capabilities necessary to stay ahead of our adversaries - but that instead automatically goes to pay borrowing costs on programs we can't afford.
